After class, Hansen walked leisurely toward the cafeteria. His stomach was starting to growl after a busy morning. Upon entering the cafeteria, he immediately saw a young man casually waving at him.

"Wow, I heard you made a breakthrough in life. Hey, is this really you, Hansen?" the voice came from Ferdinan, his best friend.

Hansen raised an eyebrow. "Breakthrough?"

Ferdinan chuckled, walking up and trying to mess up Hansen's hair. "I can't believe it! The lazy guy who usually sits at the back of the class suddenly becomes a genius in medical diagnostics!"

Hansen reflexively swatted Ferdinan's hand away and stepped back a bit. "What are you doing? I'm still the same person."

"But everyone is talking about you now! Even Wang Yiran seems interested. That's a big achievement, buddy!" Ferdinan laughed, patting his shoulder.

Hansen just smiled faintly and sat at the nearest table. "It was just a coincidence. I don’t like being the center of attention."

"Too late!" Ferdinan shrugged. "After what happened in the practical room earlier, you’ve officially become someone the top students in this campus should watch out for."

Hansen didn’t care much, but he could feel the atmosphere had subtly shifted. Some students glanced at him with curiosity, some whispered among themselves, and others glared at him with disdain.

One of them was Diandra.

From the corner of the cafeteria, Diandra sat with a few of her groupmates, her face sour. Her defeat in the debate earlier still burned her pride.

"That guy needs to be taught a lesson," Diandra muttered coldly.

Next to her, a burly student named Suny smirked. "That’s easy. He’s just lucky. If we make him fall publicly, everyone will realize he’s nothing."

Diandra nodded. "Let’s see."

Ferdinan looked at Hansen with a curious expression. "So, is Candra bothering you?"

Hansen set down his chopsticks and looked at Ferdinan calmly. "What else could he do after I stole his prey?"

Ferdinan sighed. "Heh, you’re really reckless. Candra isn’t someone to be underestimated. He has strong connections, his family is influential, and he’s not the type to stay silent after losing something he wants."

"Everyone has their fears," Hansen said nonchalantly, taking a sip of his drink. "And everyone also has their courage."

Ferdinan chuckled, though there was a hint of worry in his gaze. "You’ve really changed. You never spoke like this before."

Hansen just smiled subtly.

After a brief silence, Ferdinan leaned back in his chair and looked at his friend with curiosity. "How about Lauren? I heard you two have gotten closer after that night."

Hansen raised an eyebrow. "There are rumors like that?"

"Of course. The whole campus is talking about it. Besides, Lauren isn’t just any woman. She’s one of the most beautiful and talented students in this faculty. A lot of people want to get close to her, including Candra." Ferdinan scratched his chin. "But what I find odd is how you ended up staying at a hotel with her?"

Hansen smiled faintly but didn’t immediately respond. He also shrugged casually. Then he started answering, "It was just a story for one night. There’s no way it’s going anywhere."

Ferdinan was about to reply, but his eyes suddenly widened. He saw someone standing behind Hansen.

Hansen, having sharpened his senses, immediately realized someone was behind him. However, he didn’t turn around right away. Only his expression slightly changed.

Ferdinan, realizing who was behind his friend, swallowed nervously. "Uh… Hansen, I think someone might want to hear your opinion on that."

Hansen remained calm but now felt the need to confirm who was standing behind him. With a relaxed movement, he turned around—and saw Lauren standing there.

Lauren’s face looked a little tense, but her gaze was sharp. It seemed like she had overheard their conversation.

"So," Lauren said in a flat tone, "it was just a story for one night, huh?"

Hansen stared at her with no clear expression. Inside, he sighed a little. He hadn’t expected to face such a situation so quickly.

Ferdinan, sensing the atmosphere getting tense, immediately pretended to be busy with his food, as though he wasn’t part of the conversation.

"Yeah," Hansen finally replied, his tone still calm. "That’s how it is."

Lauren stared at him for a few seconds, then smiled faintly. "Alright, then I won’t bother anymore."

Without waiting for an answer, she turned and walked away.

Ferdinan sighed heavily. "Bro, I don’t know if you’re a genius or an idiot."

Hansen remained calm, but his eyes narrowed slightly as he watched Lauren’s back as she walked away. For some reason, he felt that Lauren’s words just now weren’t just a casual response. After all, they had no relationship whatsoever, and what had happened at the hotel was truly unexpected. His soul had shifted when it was all over.

Candra, who also studied there, watched the incident and clenched his fists. He walked toward Hansen after Lauren left.

CRASH!

The wooden chair in front of Hansen shattered instantly from Candra’s powerful kick. The sound of the crash shook the cafeteria, causing everyone to fall silent and turn their heads toward them. Even the cafeteria owner could only clutch his chest with a frightened look, fearing his place would turn into an arena for a fight.

Candra stood in front of Hansen, his eyes blazing with anger. "Hansen! I’ve had enough of your patience!"

Ferdinan immediately straightened up, ready for things to escalate. But Hansen remained seated, as if nothing had happened.

Hansen glanced at the broken chair, then looked at Candra with a neutral expression. "If you want to sit, just say so. No need to destroy the chair."

Candra became even more furious. "Don’t play dumb! You know exactly why I’m here!"

Hansen raised an eyebrow. "Oh? I can’t read minds, so why don’t you just tell me?"

Candra stepped closer, his gaze filled with menace. "Don’t play with me, Hansen! I know you were the one who ruined my plans that night! You think I won’t get back at you?"

The tension in the air grew thicker. Some students began whispering, realizing this wasn’t just a regular argument.

Finally, Hansen stood up. His build wasn’t as large as Candra’s, but the confident aura emanating from him made him not look like someone who would back down in this confrontation.

"Candra," he said casually, "I don’t have time for a spoiled rich kid who can’t accept reality. If you don’t like what happened that night, blame yourself for failing."

Candra clenched his fists tighter, the veins in his neck bulging. "Don’t feel so cocky just because you won once! I can destroy you anytime!"

Hansen stared at him sharply, then took a step forward, getting only a few centimeters from Candra’s face.

"You can try," he whispered. "But make sure you’re ready to face the consequences."

Candra’s eyes burned with hatred, but there was a hint of hesitation there. He could feel something different about Hansen—something that made him wary of acting rashly.

Like a poison buried for centuries, waiting for the right moment to kill.”He walked to the herbal table, opened a hidden drawer, and tossed a glowing talisman to Hansen.“Take this. If you see a creature without a shadow tonight, use that talisman without hesitation. It’s the only ward I’ve ever made—and even I’m not sure I can make another.”Hansen tucked the talisman behind his belt. “Should I leave this place? I don’t want to bring danger to your home.”Albert let out a soft chuckle. “If I feared danger, I wouldn’t have been a healer for fifty years. But I want you to survive, Hansen. You’re different from any student or patient I’ve ever treated.”Meanwhile…At the bottom of a pitch-black ravine beyond the city, a stone gate creaked open. A chill wind and eerie whispers flowed out. He defeated three of our elites... with his bare hands…”CRACK!!The bronze goblet in Halim’s hand shattered. This city is not as peaceful as it looks. Though it appears calm on the surface, it’s like dry straw filled with fire beneath. You could burn at any time.”Hansen nodded. “I’m always carefu
