"I'm sorry for ignoring you for so long," Jace replied and stepped back."I felt terrible after I left you in the corner, because deep down I know I liked you... Someone was indeed coming to open the door, but from where Jack was peeping, he noticed that the figure hesitated, then slowly retreated deeper into the house. His voice was a hushed rush as he turned to Jace. “He’s backing away. Dude saw us but doesn’t want to answer.” Jace pressed his lips into a thin line. He rapped his knuckles against the wood again, firmer this time, the sound of the knock echoing into the silence of the yard. “Mr. Kellar,” Jace called, keeping his voice steady, but not harsh. “We just want to talk.
