Chapter 1
[1] Lawless 1
"Please, I swear I did not do it, I have never touched that substance in my life, please you have to believe me, there has been some mistake...
"Sir, I'd suggest you stay quiet," said the cop whilst locking up the handcuffs and urging Jace to move. "I know my son," the boy's mother cried from behind. She didn't know whether to believe that Jace tried to smuggle in a hard substance into the state or not, but still she didn't want anything to happen to him. "He will never do that, I beg you check the cameras, someone must have snuck it into his bag... "Mam, please stay back," another cop ordered her, his voice firm and his expression fierce. He couldn't care less about her age, fear or anxiety, he had a job to do, and it'll certainly pay him well to catch a smuggler. "He is my son," she protested, tears tickling down her cheeks, "Please don't hurt my son I beg you, he didn't do it... I can swear. " Before she could finish her statement, the cops had forced Jace into the van and closed the doors, leaving her out. But the distressed mother was persistent, slamming her palm on the van's windows and pleading with tears in her eyes. "Please, don't take him away," she cried but no one listened, "Don't hurt him please," she begged, but without any words, the driver started the engine. Inside the car, Jace’s heart raced with trepidation. He didn't try to smuggle any hard substance; he knew he was innocent, but no one would believe him. He was also aware of the punishment that comes along with such a crime in the state, death. The thought of death alone sent a shiver down his spine, he never thought he'd die so early, and for a crime he did not commit. With fear, he looked at the window, his heart ached watching his mother plead with the cops from the outside. Watching her cry broke his heart, and seeing her get ignored was far worse than anything else. As her only son, he knew how broken she must have felt on the inside. But there was nothing he could do, he was surrounded by cops on both sides of the van. He wanted to tell her goodbye even if it was for the last time, he wanted to hug her again and tell her how much he loved her. Because who knows? This might be the last time she'll see him. As the engine started, a stream of tears trickled down his chin. He watched his mother run after the car as it drove down the lane. She was fast, but the van was faster and soon she was left behind. From the rear view mirror, he watched her fall to her knees, crying and wailing while some passersby tried to get her out of the way. "Please, God," Jace muttered under her breath, "Please save me, God, you know I didn't do this, you know that I was framed, please save me... please." "Hey!" The cop by his right nudged him, "Cut it out. There will be no God to save you here today, you should have thought about that before coming here with a bag loaded with **** " "I swear on my life, I did not... "I said cut it out and stay quiet!" Silence stretched on for half an hour, the drive to the station was intoxicating, he air around the van was thick with tension, and Jace felt like his life was coming to an end with each passing second. "Get down," the cop on his left ordered, his tone harsh with a hint of impatience. It was difficult to get out of the van with his hand cuffed to the back, and this caused a little bit of delay that annoyed the cop for some reason. "You are taking too freaking long!" He growled and pulled Jace by the neck of the shirt. He forcefully dragged him out of the van, and because Jace was caught unaware, he lost balance and fell face-first on the concrete floor. "Argh!" He winced in pain, wiggling on the floor like a fish out of the water. The same cop who threw him down picked him up with a frown and said, "You had better do as you are told or else I'm going to make this quick and shoot your head off, got it?" Jace did not respond, he couldn't. His nose was bleeding from the fall, and his face was bruised. He couldn't fathom how much he was going through and how much more he'd experience. He prayed silently for a miracle, anything to vindicate him from the mess his boss had thrown him into. Yes, his boss. While packing for his flight earlier, Jace had been sceptical about the little box his boss at the bar had given him. He had told Jace that it was a present for his niece, and when he arrived at his destination, someone would pick it up from the airport. Since it was just a small box, about the same size as a phone box, Jace didn't put much thought into it. He tossed it into his travelling bag, zipped it up and went on his way. Unfortunately, the airport devices picked it up, examined the box and confirmed that the substance was indeed illegal, hidden inside a phone's interior. Jace didn't know what substance it was, he didn't even know what was in the box, and now here he was, facing the law, the unjust law that wouldn't give him a fair hearing. If he were to be the son of a wealthy and influential figure, certainly he'd be treated differently. Soon, he was standing before the Chief Inspector General, a fierce-looking man in uniform. He appeared to be in his late thirties, with scars of past clashes still evident on his skin. "You are so young," he uttered, and for a second Jace thought his prayers had been answered. A man who would hear him out. However, the Chief's next statement caught him off guard. "It's always young people like you who do this nonsense. Your execution will be made public, just to sound a warning to the others!" "Sir... Jace felt his heart stop beating for a moment. Not only did the Chiefs refuse to hear him out, but also passed down the judgment without a trial, a testament to how lawless they could be. "Lock him up with the others!" Commanded the chief, "Boys like these need to learn their lessons."Expand

Mastering the fates with Role-play system 2 [99] The last person would be Dave
"Thanks, my ladybug," Jace uttered with a smirk. He opened the little black box just enough for the metallic little creatures to fly in, before closing it and placing it down in his wardrobe. He had used it to spy on two students, the one who had attacked him on his way back from the cafeteria after he saw the sign hung on the wall along with Adan's picture. And the second, was the guy who had purposely poured hot sauce on him while eating at the cafeteria. "They are friends," he thought to himself, "That's so convenient, and that explains why they both came after men without a care in the world." While spying on them with the ladybug, he learnt that they were from similar departments, both in their second year and also had a third friend named Adam that completed the clique. "If I could get them to support me," He thought to himself, "That'll be three out of five, but how? What can I even do to make two students who hate me enough to embarrass me, stand by my side?" At the mom

Mastering the fates with Role-play system 2 [98] It's just a selfish agenda
"Good day, sir," Jane stormed into the Vice Chancellor's office. She was too persistent to be stopped by the secretary, and although it's not something she had done before, this time she did, threatening to get her fired if she stood in her way. "Jane dear," the VC lifted his head from the pile of papers that he was signing, "Haven't seen you in a while, is anything the matter?" Without responding, Jane pulled out the chair opposite his desk and made herself comfortable, her expression was calm but almost unreadable. "Yes, sir, a lot is going on," she finally said, took a deep breath, and shifted in her seat. The VC paused, placed his pen on the desk and looked her in the eyes. "Oh dear," he exclaimed, astonished, "Tell me dear, what is it? Who is bothering you? I will have them dealt with immediately. We already have so much on our plate now that we can't add any more." " Exactly!" Jane chimed in. "That's why I'm here, the current case, the dying student and the treatment

"I'm sorry for ignoring you for so long," Jace replied and stepped back."I felt terrible after I left you in the corner, because deep down I know I liked you... And I know how bad you felt when I ignored you. But I had my reason, very genuine reasons."Becky’s lips curved into a smile, still catching her breath from the unexpected experience."Do you want to tell me?" She asked, but Jace's eyes were fixed on the floor, as though he was ashamed of what he had done to her."Look at me," she ordered, in an authoritative tone, yet her touch on his face was ever so gentle. She lifted his face so that their eyes interlocked once more, and said,"Tell me what it is and I will understand, you don't have to hide anything from me... You see now, Jace, we don't have to hide anything from each other and all this hate, you won't have to face them alone because I will be by your side the whole time.""That's the problem exactly, Becky," Jace retorted, his hand pulling her fingers off his cheeks."

Mastering the fates with Role-play system 2 [96] A kiss on the lips
Jace returned to the dormitory, his mind fixed on how to solve the problem at hand, and not how to deal with some college girl trying to blackmail him. Yes, it was true that he used her, and it's also true that he's been ignoring her, but he isn't attracted to her, not enough to date. But he must admit, her attraction fueled Jace's ego a bit."Okay, system, I need suggestions," Jacs muttered, throwing his book on the desk and sinking into his bed like a swimming pool."This is too difficult to figure out, and even worse now that the VC has restricted me from doing anything. I know that man might be up to something, even behind all this."[ Jace ][ I do have on suggestions for you ]"I'm listening."[ This roleplay: Strategist/ Kingmaker Path requires you to be strategic, not being loud isn't what it means to be strategic, because you can be loud just for the sake of strategy.][ Your overall silence and pretentious apathy are killing everything you built. Mastering the fates with Role-play system 2 [95] Just you wait and see
That same afternoon, as sun filtered lazily through the tall windows of the lecture hall, painting warm streaks across the tiled floor. Students shuffled their way out after the last class, chatter filling the corridor like the hum of bees. Jace who had returned early for his last class, slipped his hands into his pockets and walked quietly after it was over. His head was lowered, just enough to avoid unnecessary attention, after all, his mind wasn’t even here because thoughts of Amos, the Chief, and the growing noose around campus kept pressing on him.But before he could reach the stairway at the end of the hall, a figure moved into his path. Someone he spent two weeks ignoring, Becky. With arms folded across her chest and lips curled in a mixture of anger and desperation, she said, “So… you’re just going to keep pretending I don’t exist huh? Ignoring all my calls and messages, turn around whenever you see me."Jace sighed, his eyes flicking up at her briefly. Witho

Someone was indeed coming to open the door, but from where Jack was peeping, he noticed that the figure hesitated, then slowly retreated deeper into the house. His voice was a hushed rush as he turned to Jace. “He’s backing away. Dude saw us but doesn’t want to answer.” Jace pressed his lips into a thin line. He rapped his knuckles against the wood again, firmer this time, the sound of the knock echoing into the silence of the yard. “Mr. Kellar,” Jace called, keeping his voice steady, but not harsh. “We just want to talk. That’s all.” Silence He drew in a slow breath, then knocked a third time, louder. “Please. We’re not here to cause trouble.” From inside, a voice erupted suddenly, tone laced with bitterness. “I said I don’t want to be disturbed! Not again! I’ve had enough of you college pests. Haven’t you taken enough from me already?” Jack blinked and stepped back a little. “Well, he sounds like a bundle of sunshine.” But Jace didn’t retreat, still resting against the
