Mission On Last Attempt (The Zangles Saga 1)

CHAPTER 1 

Dwayne, the only son of his late father, is seen busy at the farm with Ruby, his younger sister. It’s been two weeks since their father died; life hasn't been fair to them. They had to work hard to survive. He wiped off the sweat on his face, then he said to his sister, "Ruby, get some rest while I finish the remaining work, after which we can go home. "

Ruby, who was stressed out, decided to take a break as instructed by her brother.

A few minutes later, Andrew came into the farm. Andrew, their only friend, father, and Dwayne's late father were so close that people addressed them as brothers. 

"Andrew, what brings you here?" Dwayne asked with surprise written all over his face 

"My father wants to see you and your sister; it’s quite urgent, " Andrew replied.

"Give me some minutes. Let me finish up here, and we can see your father," Dwayne told Andrew.

Andrew's dad sits on a wooden chair, fanning himself; he wears a knicker with a shirt; he looks older with his grey hair. His son, accompanied by Dwayne and his sister, walked in; he welcomed them with a smile and asked how they had been fairing since the death of their father.

Dwayne replied by saying they were doing well, but after one close look at their faces, Andrew's father knew otherwise.

He made them know why he requested to see them urgently.

"Your father left something for you before he passed on, and I wish to give you now."

 This made Dwaney so curious to know what exactly his father left for him. Andrew's father went in and came out with a box in his hands; he handed it over to Dwayne to open himself, 

He hesitated for a second and finally opened it

He found a bracelet. 

In a confusing tone, he asked, "What is this for? Why will my father ask you to give me a bracelet? I just don't get it, uncle; please make me understand." He got curious and also needed answers.

After a while, it felt like forever; he tried to give Dwayne and his sister the answer they needed, "You and your sister are descendants of The Zangles, and you, my son is their trusted companion," he pointed at his son, and this brought tension in the atmosphere, everyone in the room looked so confused. 

"What do you mean by my sister and I are the Zangles? and Andrew's been the trustworthy?"

Andrew's dad cleared his throat and said, " I will make you understand what destiny holds for you three; just listen to the story I am about to tell you."

"Long time ago." He began.

*Decades Ago*

 In a faraway kingdom called the Zappy Kingdom, there lived the Crystallites and the Angles living together in peace and harmony with the Trustworthy companions. The Lord of Zappy kingdom gave the Crystallites a beautiful village to stay in and create a temple. The Trustworthy companions are bounded to always be with the Zangles.

Sunbus is so desperate to get the powers of the Zangles and Crystallites to become more powerful unknown to him, the lord of Zappy has seen the icon of betrayal, greed, hatred, and seventy percent of evil developing in him, putting the kingdom at risk. The lord of Zappy is so fast enough to give the power of Zangles to a mere mortal, thereby going to the land of humans. 

He got back to meet war in his kingdom; killings took place, and Sunbus used the dagger of Tunt to kill some of the angels that attacked him, 'the dagger of Tunt can kill any immortal.' The lord used his powers, and immediately, the Zappy kingdom vanished.

 Sunbus roared in anger. Unfortunately for him, the Lord had plans to tell the crystallites to go into hiding with their powers in other for Sunbus not to access it, but it was already too late. He never knew Sunbus would attack the kingdom immediately. Sunburst's next plan was to visit the Crystallites village.

The Queen of Crystallites heard about what Sunbus did; she got scared, no traces of the Zappy kingdom, her village was significantly at risk. She thought of what to do to save the town.

 Still, it was too late; Sunbus and his angels entered the city, slaughtered a lot of Crystallites; the Queen had no choice but to fight him; she used her powers on him but did not affect him because Sunbus had extracted a lot of strengths from other angels when he killed them. 

She finally gave up when Sunbus used the dagger of the Tunt close to her throat; she asked him rudely, "You monster, what do you want from me ?" He laughed and said, "Where did he keep the powers of Zangles, you witch ?" 

She refuses to answer the question, and Sunbus tortures her with the whip of the undead,' it weakens a Crystallite.'

Sunbus held her neck and said some spells for him to see where the powers were hidden after extracting some fuels from her, 'a crystallite can see the past through their crystallite eyes.' 

The Queen crystal is made up of gold and silver, a light spark from her eyes as it became a mirror, it shows the lord of Zappy walking in a forest where he saw a hunter, he dropped the bracelet where he could see it, the hunter saw it, and he picked it up keeping it in his bag as he continued hunting. 

Sunbus got angry that he became so red as hell, "What? he gave the powers to a mere mortal? eyes of the crystals show me the mere mortal now; I want to know where he is? " It was about showing when it faded away, how come, he wondered, he saw the Queen bleeding out, she actually took the dagger of Tunt from him and stabbed herself deeply for him not to know the mortal's whereabout, she took a pill given to her to grant her wish, she wished to pass her powers to a mortal in other to assist the new Zangles. Sunbus groaned, her last words to Sunbus, "you will never find him," she laughed and died.

The temple got hidden from Sunbus as he destroyed other Crystallites, but few were hidden with the temple to assist the new Crystal Queen appointed by the late Queen. Sunbus got very angry that his mission failed; he decided to go to the mortal world after searching for the kingdom of Zappy, which he couldn't find; he assumed they went into exile.

He visited the mortal land and searched for evil just like him and, finally, the wicked king, a perfect tool for him to use. He promised the King if he joined forces with him, he would make him a powerful king and also make him immortal as well; because of the king's selfish desire and greed, he accepted the offer.

The King summoned an artist to the palace, Sunbus, in disguise as a human describes the bracelet for him to make a drawing of it; this will enable them to search the land for whosoever possesses the bracelet. 

The hunter got home forgotten that he had taken a bracelet, he did some work at home and noticed a light shining from his bag, he got scared at first, summoned the courage to open the bag, the bracelet he picked from the ground was shining, looking so beautiful that he couldn't resist to try it on, immediately, the room got covered with lighting. He fell and covered his eyes to avoid the ray of light from entering his eyes. He heard his name, "Ravi, you are chosen," he was confused and asked the angel standing in his presence,

"Who are you? Who told you my name?"

 "Don’t be scared, Ravi, for I am an angel of strength and wisdom, I am sent to guide you always, you are chosen by the Lord of Zappy kingdom that got vanished due to an unexpected war, you are gifted with the power of The Zangles which makes you a Zangles, the new awaken mortal hero that will save the world and bring back the lost Kingdom, but you must be careful of Sunbus, he is evil and dangerous, you must protect the Zangles powers at all cost, and it will be passed to your descendant." 

Ravi replied, "I appreciate the privilege, but I am just a hunter; how can I do this? "

" Don’t worry, Ravi, for I am always with you; you can call me in times of need and help with the bracelet you are putting on, and I will appear; you have two more guardians that will assist you in this quest, the first is the Trustworthy, his name is Lux, he will come and look for you, and you will recognize him as your trusted companion, and lastly the Crystallites will find you and together, you will accomplish your mission."

Ravi, still in confusion," "Ravi, " the angel called, "You must leave this place at once to the direction I just placed in your head; you are not safe here," and the angel disappeared. He saw the map; it was invisible, making him the only person that could see it.
