Chapter Fifty

The time finally came, Alexa was close to running away. She looked around the bustling airport, surrounded by the hum of chatter, the scent of coffee, and the distant announcements of departing flights.

“Please Lord, please…!” She begged for luck. She could only pray that nothing went wrong. “I didn't mean to kill that man. I didn't mean to do it. He harrased me sexually and I kept hitting him out of fear. But who would hear me out? Who would believe me now? All they would say is that I'm a murderer. Oh my God!” She spoke to herself.

Her suspicion of the authorities knowing her moves and trying to stop her were proven by a sudden announcement reverberated through the terminal. The authoritative voice over the intercom declared "The airport authorities have been notified that an individual with the name 'Alexa Chamberlain’ is currently under suspicion.
