No More Lies
Kael swallowed hard as he stood before his father, his mind racing. Dad would never seriously hurt Elena. At worst, he would probably ground her or give her a harsh scolding, but the rest of them were not nearly as safe. Unlike Cassian, Elena was manipulative and dangerous, but despite all her insults and pride, she still cared deeply about her siblings and would never knowingly do something that could eventually harm them. Cassian, however, was different entirely. Kael eyes slowly shifted toward Elena as he thought about him, wondering how much of Cassian's plans she had actually been involved in."Kael!" "Kael."King Ricard repeated his son's name slowly, his eyes narrowing as he looked between him and Elena. The easy atmosphere in the corridor changed abruptly to a tense one, and Kael gulped, knowing that there was no easy way out of the predicament. ‘Yes, Father?’ he said finally, trying to keep his voice steady."You said someone is destined to kill me," Ricard said, taking a step closer.
