“Daven!” Ari’s voice could be heard from afar as Daven approached the school building to meet up with Doctor Blackman. He halted, scrunching his face up in dislike when he turned to look at his friend.

Ari was gasping, breathless as he reached Daven. “You…”

“I told you to wait at the spot. We agreed to meet up!” Ari stared at him accusingly.

“Well, I have to meet up with someone.” Daven looked sorry but not remorseful.

“Well, it’s fine.” Ari straightened up, waving his hand. “Did you like my work? I did the job perfectly like you asked me.” He said as he jumped around Daven like a child.

“You owe me one again.”

“Yes.” Daven didn't dispute. He was really grateful to Ari. “I sent some money to you. It’s for your help.”

“Really?” Ari whipped out his phone, in disbelief. He also wondered just how much Daven could have sent to him. Their friendship couldn't be quantified as they had gone through hurdles together.

But when he stared at the bank notification on his phone, his eyes almos

  • The New Grandson

“You must be out of your fucking mind, Daven!” Lady West cut in, her chest heaving. “How the hell did you even get in here?”“That’s enough, Maria.” the patriarch cautioned, however, she wasn't about to let go. “Father, you can’t be deceived by that boy!” She warned as she walked back to him. Her eyes stared at him pleadingly. “Deceived?” He chuckled. “Daven has proven himself before me. It’s you who is so blind to see his potential.”“How can you let someone who is clearly against your daughter into the house when you wouldn't even let your grandson in?” She yelled. Her eyes were red, and a sharp glint of displeasure flashed in them. The patriarch took a pause, his hands fisting beside him. “Do not mention that good-for-nothing to me anymore.” He pointed sharply at her, and alarm bells were already ringing in Lady West’s ears but she chose to ignore it. “You don’t get it, do you? Gerald is your grandson!” Lady West was distressed, and she had totally forgotten about the outsider

  • A Mystery He Had To Unravel

Daven followed the patriarch into the mansion and they walked into the study where the incident had happened. The blood was still all over, evidence of the injury the old man had sustained. However, the patriarch went past it and sat at his table, his legs crossed over. He stared at Daven with meaningful eyes, wondering where he had encountered the young man before.“You are injured. You should treat yourself.” He pointed at the first aid box which had been left lying around. Daven darted his eyes suspiciously from the box to the blood and then to the old man, wondering if he was not going to say anything. He was deliberately ignoring the obvious and Daven was going to keep it that way until the matter was tabled. He got to the first aid box and brought out a few things to treat himself as the old man watched keenly. “You and I know what happened, right?” The patriarch finally spoke up and Daven froze. However, he only pursed his lips and didn't say a word to the patriarch. “I wa

  • No Fear Of Death

Daven moved like a flash, catching the sharp end of the knife in his hand and it dug deeply into his palm, his blood dripping heavily. “You dare stand in our way!” The man who had appeared all of a sudden barked. He looked just like the muscular man from earlier and it was obvious they worked together. He dragged the knife right out of Daven’s hand and was about to stab him in the face once again when Daven pulled back. He had no patience left to fight this man and so, he ran into the room he had approached earlier, and as soon as he got in, he opened his mouth in shock. The servants from earlier who had attended to him were huddled up inside. Some had gotten injured and their blood spilled all over the room. “Shit!” Daven cursed as he realized this was a full-blown attack on the entire West mansion. An influential family such as this was attacked! In just a few minutes he arrived, they had all been besieged! “Save us!” They all cried, right on their knees with their hands clas

  • Did I Kill Someone?

Daven couldn't go down! Never!Even though this man was way stronger than him, he would do everything he could to defeat him. Before the punch could land on his face, he dodged to the side, catching the man off guard. The muscular man lost balance in that moment and staggered forward to the wall, while Daven quickly ran toward the door. As soon as he got in, he locked the door with a snap of his fingers. He let out a deep breath before slowly turning around to see that he was in a study room with a strong smell of blood. He jumped the moment he saw the patriarch’s body right on the floor with a bloody knife by his side. The old man clutched his stab wound, breathing heavily like he was about to take his last breath. “Shit!” Daven cursed and quickly rushed to him. On the other hand, the muscular man kept banging on the door. The door’s hinges shook like it was going to fall out in seconds. “Are you okay?” Daven asked the old man whose eyes had turned into slit, life slowly slippi

  • Lacking Skills

Daven took a deep breath, silently contemplating what he was going to do. He had no idea where the patriarch was in the mansion. However, he just had to follow his instincts. He followed the route the attendants had left in and he found a staircase that led to the first floor of the mansion. He followed, hearing footsteps and as soon as he got to the top of the stairs, he saw a man coming out of a room. “What are you doing?” The man asked, stepping closer to him with his huge muscular body. “I am here to see the patriarch.” Daven pointed out. “Is that why you are here? This is a restricted space, you shouldn't be here.” The man rebutted, his gaze fixed on Daven with a dangerous edge to it. “Ohh…I didn’t know that.” Daven feigned ignorance but then raised his brows. “Are you supposed to be here too?”He had not seen this man with the other attendants who welcomed him. Though he could never know the number of people that worked in the mansion but this man definitely did not seem li

  • A Mandatory Mission

Gerald alongside Maya and Lady West shut off the gates and went back into the house. Daven had no idea where they had taken his things too but he didn't mind, he would definitely get back at them and they would pay a hundred times for the damages. “What are we going to do now?” Ari asked as they got back into the car. “I will handle it,” Daven replied calmly. He then turned to Elena who was in the backseat, his eyes turning gentle, “I am sorry for this inconvenience. But I am going to drop you guys off at a hotel to stay the night.”“Everything will be fine by tomorrow.” He assured. However, Elena was starting to get uncomfortable. She felt she was a burden and didn't want Daven to go through a lot of trouble for her. “I think I will be fine. I will crash at a friend’s place—”“Elena…” Ari called out with a disapproving gaze. “You and I know you have no friends. You shouldn't refuse help sometimes. Daven here is genuinely trying to help and you are not a burden like you think.”“A
