Eric remained still for several minutes, taking many deep breaths in an attempt to calm down.

He then placed his hand on his chest, and could feel his heart pound with every squeeze.

He was afraid.

At the very last moment, he had realized that truly, he was now enemies with the most powerful man in the city.

Even with all the money the fundraiser had given him, he would either have to leave the city, or find an ally strong enough to counteract the Newton's.

Fortunately for him, he had an idea… But he had to move fast, before Christopher could make due on his threats.
