Aryan's pov...

As I entered the school this morning, the whole building reverberated with the noise of the cheers coming from the students and the others around the arena.

"Dhruva...!

Dhruva...!"

It irritated me when I heard that name, he hadn't got up yet and these crazy people are shouting their throats out cheering him,

As I got up on the platform where all my classmates were standing, I saw Alia jumping in excitement,

"Hey... Aryan...! see how enthusiastic, it's so good to see that isn't it?" said Alia holding my hand, she is my sister but was happier to see my cousin getting into the arena, it makes me jealous.

"What's the big deal? man...? it's just a method selection and they all are making a fuss out of nothing... disgusting...!!" I retorted, it was making me irritated, I envy him, he is the best among us.

" Dumbs like you should be disgusted with this, of course...!!" a gleeful voice spotted in my ears making me clench my fist, Ryan,

"You dare call me that....!!" I held his collar,

"Come on... guys stop it, please let me watch the game, it's about to start," said Alia holding us apart,

Dhruva entered the arena, the cheering raised as hell before it suddenly stopped as the main course of the method selection started.

The method selection is the way one selects the type of cultivation he wants to master. There are ten types of cultivation methods the cultivator can opt for anyone by hitting the target using their elegant moves. Everyone has one, except me so I decided to make one for myself.

Dhruva raised his weapon which was a magical fishbone bow and arrows, he was a water practitioner and was aiming to get water-born cultivation.

These targets are droplets of mist fluid that bounce on air particles, invisible to the naked eye, the one who hits must be a follower for sure to be able to see it.

He targeted the method selection maze and pulled the bow to release his magical arrow, it pierced the air and hit the sixth position, which was what he planned to get the water-born cultivation method. The whole stadium shivered with the hit and everyone around him shouted their throat out.

"Wow...!! Dhruva.....!! awesome...!!" Alia shouted as she jumped with fervor,

"That was amazing isn't it?" she turned to me to express her amazement but it was more like a taunt to me.

Dhruva is my cousin, a year older than me but is an excellent practitioner. I can't help but accept the fate that I am the worse in my family chain.

Being a family and descendants of the greatest sarvaan cultivator, everyone in my family, father, brother, sister including my mother, all are cultivators but me,

I tried everything to able to get my method to cultivate but each time I try, I get nothing but defeat.

This year, my father made it clear that if I can't find my method this time, I will be removed from the cultivation chart and I will end up as a caretaker for these cultivators for the rest of my life, with no cultivation, no power, no competition, and no battles.

"Hmm... Ya, that's fine... better one...! actually" I divulged, but deep inside me, even I know that it was a great hit.

"Losers like you, saying that shot...! to be a better one...! are you kidding me...! are you daydreaming of participating in it this year as well, huh? looser...!"

"ha hahaha" mocked Ryan with his disgusting laugh, I wanted to punch him right away but Alia held my hand.

Ryan is always the one to taunt me, he never loses a chance to slack me but never mind this time I am prepared to find my method of cultivation.

I have been practicing with various methods, I don't wish to get the ultimate dragon method, I am fine with any of them which may save me from becoming a caretaker, except for the last one the most common one given to all losers, the spelling method.

I would never want my life to end up in a room filled with books and me reading them to do small magical tricks to light candles and cook fish, that will be horrible, better leave the idea of cultivation. But I am sure I won't end up there because I have my way.

Soon after Dhruva, one by one all those from my class went up with their weapons and got their methods,

When Nira's name was announced, I was more nervous than her, but I know she will do her best, other than Dhruva the one that deserves to be called the best among us is Nira, she prefers the Fire cultivation method and when it comes to practice, she is so focused that she never cares for anyone. She went up and hit the fifth target, the fire cultivation method, as how she had been dreaming, I am happy for her.

The audience around cheered for them all too, not as much as how they did for Dhruva and Nira, but it was way better than how they are now,

"Aryan.... get on the arena, and remember what I said....!" my heart shivered when my father's voice echoed in my ears, it was my turn but I am not being cheered at all, instead they are looking at me like a joker in a circus.

I took a long breath before I took out my weapon, a crossbow, I made it myself not with some kind of fish bone or dragon bone, it's made up of normal wood and the arrows are made with normal metal. I can't use magic, because I don't know how to use it, but I have a secret that no one knows, I can see and talk to my deseeded grandfather, the greatest sarvaan cultivator of this land.

And this time he promised me that he will help me with this method selection, I will be content to get any one of the nine.

As I got up with my crossbow, everyone around me started laughing, though they always do that, it hurts,

"Make sure you hit the target not the one around you....!!"

Ha.... ha.... ha...!

"Go for it... Aryan.... you can make it...!!" those words made me live again, Alia, my sister, the only one who can make me feel better in the thunderstorm of taunts,

I prayed with my eyes closed and looked up at the targets, I couldn't see any of them but I trust my grandpa's soul. I pulled the string and my arrow left the bow, at full speed, everyone was eager to know how I end up, but I was so nervous to look at it. Their unexpected shouts jolted me, I paused for a second,

Did I hit the ultimate Dragon method, the first one?

I was surprised when those shouts gone worse, those looks were surprised but were like ridiculing me,

I reluctantly looked up, to see where I hit,

That view... made me toss my crossbow on the stage in dismay and I ran out of the arena to hide my tears which were not in my control.

As I reached his tomb, I was disgusted by how he cheated me,

"you cheated me...! I hate you, grandpa...! I hate you...!" I yelled at him,

I can't believe he cheated me,

That target, it was better I drop out of this cultivation structure.

Shouting like crazy at a place where no one goes except me, his grave, I vent my anger on him for deceiving me. But this time that one step of his almost killed me, and spoiled my whole life.

"what is it?"

"A spell cultivation method...?"

"Can you imagine, I am going to be a librarian and a trick magician for the rest of my life..."

"Uhh.... it was better than I could have got out of this place on exiles... at least I wouldn't have ended up this way...you deceived me..." I was burning in fumes, I know I am not one to excel in any special kind of cultivation methods but can't he choose me a better one, at least the last one, I am fine getting burnt by those techniques,

Uu...hhh... but this is disgusting...!

I don't want it....!

"You know how to do magic, right...? just make it back... I want to go to exile after failing this for the third time...!" my frustration was at its highest level, I couldn't take it, it was like my body was getting clenched between large mountains or being crushed beneath them or even more worse than that.

I hate it..

"I hate it... and I hate you too...." I yelled at him running out of that tomb as he didn't talk to me, I trusted him like a fool but he... he deceived me...!

"I won't clean your grave again..." a curse left my mouth, as step out.

He didn't hesitate even for a second. If his life could end this battle, he wouldn't mind dying for great things. "You are not the Sarvaan Cultivator...!" He thought again and again. Aryan raised his hands in the air and the blue fire blazed around him. Everyone looked at him in awe. "Blue fire...!" one of Aryan's uncles recognised the fire. "Is that the heavenly blue fire?" They couldn't believe that someone among them had that legendary blue spiritual fire in them. "How could it be?" Aryan's father still couldn't believe his intuition. He struggled to gather his strength and stood up slowly. Taking small steps towards the guardian, his jaw dropped in disbelief. "Aa...Aryan...!!" he muttered to himself. "Yes, we need to confirm what happened but you will stay here" Aryan was shocked. "No...I can't...I have to go there, Father" Aryan protested only to be stopped by his father. Father and all our uncles are on the battlefield fighting them" Aryan's mind raced as he quickly snapped out of the daze. The blue spiritual fire within him flickered, responding to his rising determination. He knew this moment would come, but it felt too soon.
