But Britney's every flirtation and seduction managed to make Asher melt and choose to date the girl who lived in New Castle. Asher thinks that at least the girl is in a city not far from Asher's hometown.

It made Asher not want to believe. Asher took Julian's mobile phone and scrolled through Britney's account and saw that there was a lot of intimate content between the girl and other men. What's worse is that Asher seems to recognise the man in the content.

"The man in the video is very familiar to me. Isn't this man Ronin one of my classmates?" thought Asher, who had just been slapped by reality.

It made Asher's heart break even more. Asher opened his mouth, "Mate, where did you get all this from? You must be lying, right? Ronin is a bad guy who likes to play with women's hearts, so he can't be with Britney."

Asher stressed as if he couldn't believe it. With a cold face, Asher clenched his fists until his nails dug in, and a little blood came out.

"Calm down, it's all true; when I went home in the summer, I happened to meet the two of them in Newcastle. That's why when you showed me the picture of your girlfriend, I felt like I had met that girl somewhere. That's why I decided to follow up with her on social media," Julian confessed.

"Britney even said clearly that Ronin was her first boyfriend." Julian felt sorry for Asher.

"I can't afford to be careless. I'd better confirm it myself," Asher was determined. Asher immediately called Britney through the feature on the app.

"Hey, it's Britney. Wanna shower me?" Britney answered from the other side of the phone.

Asher heard Britney's voice for the first time, which had been deceiving him, making Asher cold-faced. What's more, the girl was being so cheeky on a public call.

"Hello, I'm your boyfriend, Asher Parker," Asher got straight to the point.

Britney, who heard this, then fell silent and was surprised. Then Britney said slowly, "Oh, Asher Parker, yeah. Wanna shower me with a couple of bucks?"

"Are you crazy? You still want money from me?" responded Asher, who was starting to get angry.

"Listen to me carefully, honey. Life needs money. Oh yeah, since I don't want to waste time, I'll just tell you that I've ended our relationship because I need to pursue other opportunities in life."

"Babe, don't be like that. I didn't know you got a job." Despite his anger, Asher tried to remain calm.

The man's tone surprised Britney, but she didn't think much of it. The girl responded very confidently. "Yes, I got a job at a repair company. So I hope you can stay away from me from now on. In the future, my salary will be higher than yours. My position will even be very secure. So please forgive me if I can't make you my lover again. I already spent the last money you gave me anyway."

Asher felt a surge of rage; he had been cheated out of his salary, and he had been so blind and foolish.

"How could I fall for that venomous woman? How could I make her my girlfriend? How could I trust her with everything?" Asher regretted his decisions.

"Go to hell, you cunt," Asher spat out, trying to calm his breathing.

"I don't give a damn about my love, and I've seen your true self. You and Ronin deserve each other," Asher hung up the phone.

After working a full day, Asher collapsed on the bed, feeling exhausted. But then Asher heard a noise and saw a system panel in front of him.

"What the f-? A consortium system?" Asher wondered if he was out of his mind.

Asher jumped up and ran out of his room.

On the balcony, Asher saw Julian smoking.

"Dude, what's wrong with you?" Julian asked.

"Nothing, man. Did you see anything?" Asher asked back.

Julian looked at his friend with a puzzled expression. He responded, "No. I didn't see anything."

"All right." Asher went back to his room, where the system menu was still above him. Asher couldn't tell anyone about this issue.

"The consortium system, right?"

[Yes, sir. The details will be available once you answer me. Will you accept the consortium system?]

"Yeah, I guess."
