2. Divorce

CHAPTER TWO 

Cecilia  stared at the divorce papers, then looked back at Killian. She was confused; why would Killian l, who is nothing but a loser, depending on her family to live, would have the mind to propose a divorce agreement to her. 

"What is this, Killian? Why have you filed for a divorce?" She snapped angrily at him, "Oh! Are you here to cheat me of some money? You want us to split my worth into two?  You know that's not going to happen, Killian!" She concluded, with an evil smirk bestowed on her face. 

Killian chuckled, and muttered coldly, "What made you think I need half of your properties?” He put out a soft laugh and continued, “Why don't you look at it? You shouldn't be afraid, you know?" 

Quickly as Killian concluded, Cecilia  glanced through the agreement for the divorce and saw Killian would not receive a penny from her. There is nothing to benefit as he didn't request for anything. 

So, there is no way he would cheat her.  

Meanwhile, Isabella Pratt, who had been writhing in pain all these while, stood up hastily, ignoring the pain she felt in her body. 

She strode towards Cecilia  quickly, and snatched the divorce papers from her, and snorted. 

"What is written in the divorce papers? The foolish boy would love to request half of the Pratt Family's fortune? I know he had a mission to accomplished, and that's to destroy the Pratt family." 

She took a quick look, and instantly, her expression softened, and she bursted into laughter.

"What a lovely day for me!" She gushed happily and glanced at Killian, "I have always known you to be a foolish man, but you prove me wrong, boy! Unknowingly, you just filled my heart with joy!" 

Killian, on the other hand, stared at Isabella Pratt disgustingly. He never expected her to be this shameless. Look at how happy she is about the divorce. Smiles bestowed on her face. 

Well, that's what she had wanted, so it's improper for her not to rejoice the good news. She had always preaches about getting divorced and now, it is happening. 

Glancing at her daughter, Cecilia , Isabella muttered in delight, "What are you waiting for? This is what we've always wanted.  Sign the fuckin document, and get yourself out of this useless relationship!" 

Knowing fully well that was what her mother had always wanted, she looked enraged, not at her mother but Killian. 

She felt humiliated by Killian's antics. She was a CEO and a successful woman at that whilst He is just a loser, and a servant in their house. Yet, he had the effrontery to file for a divorce. 

She should be the one filing for a divorce, and not the other way round.  

Cecilia  sneered, "You really want a divorce, right? Well, I'm not signing the divorce documents." With that being said, she tore the divorce papers into pieces, and threw them up in the air.

"You want to embarrass me in front of my family, right? Well, it is impossible! You have failed, Killian!" She bellowed. 

Gasps coming from Isabella Pratt, she screamed angrily at her, "Cecilia , What have you done? You just deny the opportunity to leave the futile and useless relationship! What has come over you, Cecillia?" 

Killian's gaze followed the pieces of paper as they landed on the floor. He couldn't believe Cecilia had done that. He just offered a divorce she had always wanted. 

What could be going on in her mind? Could she have changed? Killian thought!

Cecilia  smiled at her Mother's angry yell, "Mother, you don't have to worry about anything! I have everything under control. Today, I will be abandoning the useless man!" She comforted her Mother, whose face was covered in frowns and rage.  

Isabella didn't fully understand what her daughter had said, she only nodded her head. Cecilia  took out another paper from her bag. 

It was another divorce papers! She also had planned to divorce Killian too, just only he was faster than her. 

Killian smiled faintly. He thought as much. Cecilia wouldn't dare to reject a divorce. 

She began to say, "Killian, this is a divorce agreement!” She smirked ingratiatingly, "I have the thought of giving you some money as compensation but now that you are so forward and ungrateful, I think that wouldn't be happening. You won't receive a penny from me!" She sneered at him contemptuously. 

Killian did nothing but put on a smile, and took the divorce papers from her, then penned down his signature on it before giving it back to Cecilia . He didn't feign any hesitation to sign the paper. 

Obviously, Cecilia  had hoped he begged for forgiveness, and then she would have the opportunity to humiliate Killian, but she was betrayed by her thought. 

Killian had calmly signed the papers with smiles on his face, and she felt a wave of anger rushed through her veins. 

She hated the fact that Killian had just underestimate and ridicule her. She was boiling in anger. 

She growled out furiously, "You punk, how dare you smile while signing the papers? Shouldn't you beg for forgiveness? How dare you not give an iota of respect to me and my family? Are you trying to mock us?" 

She continued, "Aren't you afraid you will die of hunger without the Pratt Family? You should get on your knees, and beg for forgiveness right away!" 

Isabella Pratt piped in furiously, "Cecilia, haven't I told you how ungrateful your husband was? He is full of pride and evil! A despicable man!" 

Killian just stared at them with a disdainful smile, and said to them, "It's just so shameful that you are ignorant of my value. Pratt's Family wouldn't have been here if it wasn't for me! Everything the Pratt's Family possessed and acquired are all mine, yet you are ungrateful. You treat me like a servant, and look down on me like a miscreant, so shameful!"

Cecilia  found Killian's word as a joke, and couldn't help but burst into an uncontrollable laughter. 

Her face turned cold instantly, and sneered at him. "Are you really out of your mind, Killian? How are you the one behind the Pratt's Family's fortune? I'm the CEO of the Pratt's Family Business, and I worked hard, and earned everything for the Pratts. So, how come you are the one helping us? Besides, I've never seen you step into the family's company before." 

Killian only stared at her in contempt, he didn't want to explain anything to them,  and decided to take his leave. 

He was about to walk through them when Cecilia  prevented him from moving further. She dragged him back and held his clothes tightly. 

"Where do you think you are going, Killian? You must apologize to me and my family, or else you will have no choice but to be beaten to death." She muttered angrily, her eyes glaring dangerously at him. 

Killian looked at her coldly, and stared at her hands on his clothes. "You should leave my clothes alone. I don't have anything to do with the Pratt's Family anymore. We are divorced, remember?" 

Cecilia  didn't bother to respond back at him, and she held the clothes tighter. 

Without giving any more warning, Killian pushed her slightly away from him. 

"Don't dare to stop me! We don't have anything in common anymore!" He spewed out angrily at her. 

At this time, the man who came back with Cecilia stood up from the couch. He had been watching as everything unfold.

"Why do you have to behave like an animal? Your rude and animalistic behavior had made me mad! Women are fragile and are supposed to be treated like an egg! You should apologize for your rude behavior, or else you won't be leaving out of here in whole! I promised you that!" He muttered disparagingly, glaring contemptuously at Killian. 

Looking at the strange man in front of him, he laughed out hard, and then questioned, "And who are you to tell me what I'm going to do? Shouldn't you mind your business?" 

The man smirked proudly, and adjusted his tie properly on his neck, "I'm Charles Wayne, the CEO of the Wayne's Group. And also, as from today, I will be the boyfriend of Cecilia  since you guys are now divorced.

I won't allow an useless man to humiliate my girlfriend for no reason. You shouldn't show animalistic behavior just because you guys have been divorced.” He muttered and then continued, "Therefore, get down on your knees and apologize to my girlfriend, and her family!"
