Saves

Azaria Maddox's dramatic story unfolded amidst the prestigious Paradise Academy. Despite being born into wealth, her family's sudden misfortune thrust her into an independent journey. However, Azaria's unwavering determination allowed her to secure a coveted spot at the exclusive institution.

At Paradise Academy, renowned for its affluent student body, Azaria captivated the attention of the school's four most sought-after boys. Amidst the admirers, Justus stood out as a troublemaker, constantly devising schemes that, ironically, only served to bring Azaria closer to her suitors.

His stride faltered as he instinctively glanced down at his wristwatch.

"Why have you stopped, Justus?" Lilyana noticed Justus halting and paused as well, her voice laced with confusion as she questioned his abrupt stop.

Justus motioned towards the path ahead, "Proceed a few steps forward."

Although Lilyana was perplexed, she complied and stepped forward. Suddenly, a boy on a skateboard materialized out of nowhere. Justus expected a collision with Lilyana, but instead, the boy skillfully swerved, narrowly missing Lilyana.

Caught off guard, Lilyana lost her footing and started to topple. Realizing Justus's prankish intent, a wry smile crossed her face. She knew her mischievous young master would never pass up an opportunity to play tricks on her. Judging by the current situation, she was likely to faceplant.

Lilyana braced herself for impact, shutting her eyes tight, but the anticipated pain never came. Instead, a warm sensation accompanied by a faint, yet familiar perfume scent enveloped her. Opening her eyes in astonishment, she found herself in Justus's arms.

The slender hands that held her now felt incredibly strong, providing Lilyana with a sense of security she hadn't felt in a while. Justus, however, wasn't looking at her. His gaze followed the retreating figure of the boy, as he mumbled something odd.

"Seems like the 'hero saves the damsel' trope only works for Azaria." The departing boy seemed oblivious to Lilyana's discomfort. He continued his journey, executed another slick slide, and vanished in no time.

If Justus's memory served him right, this was where Azaria first encountered one of the male leads, Emmett Rutledge. Emmett, on his skateboard, had accidentally bumped into Azaria, marking their first meeting.

But now, with Emmett gone, this encounter was unlikely to take place sucessfully.

"Are you okay?"

"That guy was just too reckless."

Seeing Lilyana, scared and disoriented, others stepped forward to console her. Lilyana came to the realization that she wasn't as terrified as she thought, but rather, she was startled by Justus's unexpected embrace.

Fearful of provoking another prank, she remained motionless in Justus's arms.

"I apologize for letting you stand there earlier," Justus spoke with a hint of regret in his voice, his gaze fixed on a trembling Lilyana.

If everything goes according to his plan, Lilyana won't get hurt. On the contrary, she might even end up with that young man who's been pursuing her, like he'll be there for her.

Lilyana looked up suddenly, her eyes wide with disbelief.

The Justus who embraced her, the Justus who apologized to her; it was a side of Justus she had never seen before. Why had he suddenly turned so kind towards her?

Could he be trying to maintain a goody-two-shoes facade at school, only to torment her when they got home?

As this thought crossed her mind, she shivered more violently.

Justus was taken aback. He pondered for a moment and then silently commanded in his mind.

'Activate character panel'.

This feature was the only cheat he had in this world, enabling him to access everyone's personal information.

Name: Lilyana West.

Character: Gentle, severely depressed.

Background: Daughter of the Wallace family's chauffeur, grew up alongside Justus, and was frequently victimized by his pranks.

Affinity towards Justus: -100

Affinity towards Emmett Rutledge: -10

Based on the affinity, if Lilyana didn't betray him, that would be the real problem.

"Okay, don't be scared, I'll go beat him up later." Justus reassured, which led Lilyana to shake her head immediately.

"Justus, this is Paradise Academy, not like other places." Lilyana hastily reminded, in this school, there were far more wealthy and powerful students from the Wallace family.

Derek Wallace, Justus's father, who was worried about Justus causing trouble, had specifically reiterated numerous times to take care of Justus. Now, on his first day of school, Justus wanted to beat someone up.

But Justus just smiled, "I've been wanting to try beating up the male lead."

It was an inexplicable statement, but for some reason, it gave Lilyana a sense of security.

"Justus, let's just forget it. I was just scared, you don't need to do this for me." Lilyana's voice gradually lowered, as if she felt more embarrassed.

"If that's the case, then let go of me." Justus thought for a while, even though he was used to playing the villain, it was still better to keep a low profile at the beginning of school, so he agreed.

Lilyana was startled, only then did she realize that she was still holding onto Justus. She hurriedly let go and began to apologize frantically.

Justus promptly departed with her, leaving an intrigued audience behind. As the others dispersed, a lone figure remained, lingering in the aftermath.

Ascending several flights of stairs, Justus stole a glance back, revealing Azaria standing there. A reflexive tension surged through his body, yet he managed to muster a strained smile in her direction. Azaria seemed to catch Justus's gaze and responded with a gentle smile of her own.

A gentle breeze stirred, causing Azaria's hair to gracefully sway in the air. Her attire was unassuming, but her radiant smile coupled with her delicate features bestowed upon her an ethereal charm, resembling an angel descended to earth.

Ironically, it was this angelic presence that served as the genesis of his recurrent nightmares, a perplexing tally amounting to 68.
