Make Them Regret

Henry left the hotel at precisely 7:30 am the following day. He has already written down the places he will visit today and the things he will buy first.

"Good morning," the stewardess greeted him.

He stared at the tray in her hands. He was sure it was his breakfast, but he gave her a sign to leave with it.

Henry walked straight to a boutique to get some clothes. It was a very expensive one. One of the most popular boutiques in the city. It was believed that celebrities also shopped there.

Henry didn't think twice before going there because he thought the wealth system was always with him and made him confident. He also had the rule in mind: to spend at least a million dollars that day.

"What would you like?" The sales girl asked Henry as he walked in.

"I would like a corporate suit." Henry replied.

"Okay, follow me." The sales girl said.

Henry walked directly behind her. He picked a couple of clothes and paid for the things he bought.

"A total of two million dollars." The receptionist said.

"Okay then," Henry replied as he paid with his fingerprint.

"Thanks for your patronage. We will love to meet you next time." The receptionist waved at Henry.

Henry didn't reply to him. He thought that was very unnecessary. He dropped the things he bought to visit where cars are sold.

He took a taxi to the location.

"I would like this one." Henry said, pointing at the limited SUV edition car.

"That costs about a hundred million dollars! I don't think you can afford it." Clinton, the guy who sold the company's car, laughed.

"What makes you think so?" Henry smirked.

"C'mon, are you not the Henry I know very well from ten years ago? When we were in college? I'm still wondering why you suddenly disappeared. Everyone thought you were dead. We even had to mourn your death in school!" He chuckled.

"You had to mourn my death?!" Henry asked, widening his eyes.

"It's a long story. So, I'll leave it for next time. I guess Jack and the rest of your family would know more about that." Clinton heaved a vast sigh, closing the car with the black trampoline.

Jack was Henry's stepbrother. The eldest in the family. None of Henry's siblings hate him the way Jack hates him.

To Jack, Henry was a threat to his existence, and there was a massive probability that Jack was behind the mourning of Henry's death in the school.

I'm still waiting to hear more about what happened ten years ago. Henry sighed.

"I'll pay for the car!"

"You'll pay what? A hundred million dollars?! please we are not in the month of April." Clinton laughed.

"I'll double the money!"

Clinton widened his eyes as he heard this. He was more than shocked.

"You'll double what?! You'll double a hundred million dollars?"

"I didn't come here to joke around." Henry smirked.

Clinton was stunned. They walked into the office, where Henry paid for the car. He indeed doubled the amount of money.

The CEO of the company requested to meet Henry anytime soon. He thought Henry might love to invest in their company.

"Thank you. We will love to meet you some other time. Thank you!" The CEO said as they shook hands.

Clinton was speechless as they walked out of the company. He was beyond surprised.

"The poor delivery guy in the school woke up after ten years and became a billionaire! That could only happen in movies!" He thought.

"The keys." Henry demanded as they approached the car.

Clinton took a deep breath. He wanted to ask for forgiveness. He was one of the people who bullied Henry in high school and also helped manipulate Henry's medical results to announce to the school that he was dead.

"I'm truly sorry for hurting you in high school. I really want to ask for your forgiveness. I never wanted to beat you up. Jack forced me into doing it." Clinton pleaded.

Henry chuckled softly as he shook his head. This was just the beginning; they'll soon be on their knees.

"Can I have my car key, please?" Henry asked.

Clinton sighed; he knew that Henry couldn't forgive him so easily.

Clinton handed the keys to him.

Henry smirked as he entered his brand-new car. This was a new beginning. He decided to buy a house next.

The company owned the house he wanted to buy in competition with his family's company.

He needed an expensive house because he would like to take his sister away from evil people.

He proceeded to buy a house in Houston's villa. One of the most expensive places to buy a house. His house costs about five hundred million dollars.

It was costly and had already been furnished.

Everything was ready.

He was finally meeting his evil step-family after ten years. Everyone who wanted him dead will be shocked to realize he was healthy and wealthy!

He drove to Cavil's Villa. He parked his car in the garage. He was surprised to see no security guard around.

"Maybe they can no longer afford a guard," He laughed.

He walked out of his car. He stared at the Mansion. The Mansion had a lot of stories to tell about him, where he was treated like a slave and an outcast in his own family.

"Home sweet home." He sighed, walking into the house.

Everywhere was silent when he entered. He wondered if there were no maids in the house. He couldn't glimpse his sister, who was always seated on the couch.

He heard some footsteps approaching. He turned to see the maid walking down the stairs.

The maid shouted immediately after she saw Henry.

"Ghost!" She kept shouting.

"Ghost?"

Henry stared at the maid as she shouted.

"Ghost? Did you see a ghost somewhere around here?" Henry asked.

The maid continued screaming.

"Mrs. Cavil said you're the dead and your body is yet to be incramated. So, what are you doing here?" The maid trembled in fear.

Henry chuckled softly.

"Well, I am not dead and I would like you to believe that. I woke up after ten years."

"You woke up?" The maid asked, walking down the stairs.

"Yeah and from your face I can truly tell that you didn't believe your madam at first. Why will I be dead? I know very well that everyone wants me dead but I can't die so easily." Henry laughed.

"At least, when I'm yet to get my revenge…" Henry muttered.

"Revenge?" The maid asked.

"Well, that's none of your business. I really need to know where they all were, especially my sister; Doreen. I really need to meet her." Henry replied.

At the mention of Doreen, the expression on the maid's face changed immediately. She knew what happened to Doreen after Henry's incident, but she wouldn't like Henry to hear it from her.

"Is there any problem? When did you move in here? Don't you know Doreen? My little sister?!" Henry asked eagerly.

The maid sighed before replying.

"I moved in a few weeks after you were in the hospital but I don't know much about Doreen, I only met her once but I'm pretty sure she's okay." The maid lied.

"Then where could she be? She's the only person I have left!" Henry said sadly.

"Maybe she has been sent to the state. Eucharia also left the country a few weeks after I arrived here. Maybe she left with Doreen." The maid replied, avoiding Henry's eyes.

She can't lie to him while staring at his eyes.

Eucharia was the last child in the family. She was eighteen before the incident. She was the same age as Doreen, but Doreen was a few weeks older than her.

"I see. They would do anything possible to keep her out of sight anyway. So, where are the rest of the family? Aren't they home? I can't seem to get a feel of their presence." Henry asked.

"They went for a party, it's not really a party anyway but Jack is celebrating his ten years wedding anniversary." The maid replied.

"Wow. He married after my rumoured death? To whom, if I may ask?" Henry asked.

Another question the maid wishes she could avoid, but she can't. This time around, she had to tell him the truth.

"To Evelyn. They got married a few weeks after your accident." The maid replied.

"Wait…what? Evelyn married Jack?! She left Max?" Henry laughed.

Henry wanted Evelyn to stay. She could date as many men as she wanted because Henry had learned his lessons. He no longer had any interest in Evelyn. He only wanted to teach Max a lesson!

He can't just betray him and go freely.

"What a plot twist!" Henry laughed.

"That is not actually the main issue. I think Evelyn married Jack for Business purposes. The two families actually accepted their marriage quickly. It was as if they were waiting for your death!"

"My Death?"

"Ohh, sorry. Your accident." The maid chuckled.

"Then what did Max do? I know very well he has anger issues and won't just sit back and watch Evelyn getting married to Jack."

"Max, he was truly furious and mad at Evelyn but I think Mrs. Cavil settled him with some amount of money. Everyone knows that he never loved Evelyn. He was after her money, and Max is currently in jail." The maid replied.

"In jail?! What did he commit?!" Henry shouted.

The maid got back to her senses. Revealing that Max was in jail will ruin the lie she told earlier about Doreen.

"I-I don't know what he did!" She stuttered.

Henry heaved a sigh.

Although he disliked Max, he didn't like the fact that he was in jail. Max was known to be a notorious drug dealer but couldn't be caught so easily. Someone must have trapped him.

"How many years imprisonment?" Henry asked.

"I heard it is a life imprisonment. Maybe he murdered Someone." The maid shrugged.

"Murdered Someone? Max can't even kill a rat!" Henry exclaimed.

"Everyone was surprised like you. Even I myself couldn't believe it." The maid replied.

The maid kept twisting her words, but Henry couldn't notice it. He just believed anything she said.

"Where is the location of their anniversary?" Henry demanded.

"Do you want to go there? Don't dare!" The maid shouted.

"You don't tell me what to do!" Henry glared at her.

"Cavil's hotel, The family's hotel but please don't cause a huge scene. Everyone thinks you're dead and yet to be incriminated," The maid pleaded.

Henry ignored her and walked out of the house. He quickly entered his car and drove to the location. He didn't care about anything anyone thought.

It was already 9:30 pm in the night, and the event had started already.

The ladies were seen dancing and celebrating the couple. Their wedding anniversary was indeed a special one.

The event was mainly for the country's wealthy and top people.

"Happy married life and many more years!" The attendees wished the couple.

Evelyn stood beside Jack, their arms locked together, smiling at the people present. Still, everyone could tell that they were not a married couple. Their smiles looked fake!

Henry walked into the hall. Everyone seemed to be rejoicing, and no one noticed his entrance.

He walked straight to the podium. Everyone turned to him. He wore a black hat; they couldn't see his face.

"Who is he? And why is he picking up the mic?!" Jack asked Evelyn.

Evelyn shrugged. They all stared at Henry but couldn't recognize him.

"Happy married life Evelyn!" Henry said as he removed his hat.

Evelyn widened her eyes as she made eye contact with Henry.

"What? He's still alive? I thought he's dead?! A ghost at their anniversary?" The crowd murmured.

Henry's presence in their anniversary celebration had started trending online as everyone finally recognized him as a member of the Cavil family.

"I hate you and you will regret doing this! Henry, you shall die soon like your sister!"
