The host was a young woman, dressed in a black formal jacket and a matching pencil skirt. She smiled brightly under the stage lights and announced the very first lot of the evening.

"Ladies and gentlemen, we will begin tonight with a stunning, limited-edition luxury chronograph watch! The starting bid is a modest $10,000, with minimum bidding increments of $1000!"

Julia’s eyes instantly sparkled, she absolutely loved high-end luxury items like this to show off to her friends.

Seeing her excitement, Derek raised his bidding paddle high into the air without missing a single beat.

He glared at Harry, letting out a loud sneer. "Look at the pathetic scum! He can't even afford his own mother's emergency surgery fees, yet actually shows up to a high-class auction just to window-shop and pretend he belongs here!"

Harry raised an eyebrow, completely unbothered. He had a massive 1.5 billion dollars sitting idle in his liquid bank account, not to mention the unlimited 10 billion dollar black card sitting inside his pocket.

The only reason he wasn't bidding at the first item, was because he simply had no interest in competing for such a trivial, cheap item.

Derek successfully won the luxury watch for 20 thousand dollars. Julia praised him lavishly, clapping her hands and leaning into him.

"Oh, Derek, you are so incredibly amazing.”

She glared at Harry,

"Did you see that, Harry? That's what a real man looks like. You couldn't afford a single gear inside that watch…”

Some people laughed along, not knowing who exactly the taunt was directed towards.

Several more minor lots passed under the hammer. What caught the crowd’s collective eye, was a breathtaking pink diamond ring, masterfully crafted by Caratlily, a world-renowned jeweler.

Although it was a replica, it was still highly valued at a whopping 100 thousand dollars. The host announced the starting bid at 50 thousand dollars. Instantly, every single woman in the grand room was drawn to it, their eyes filled with desire.

Seeing Julia's eyes gaze on it, Derek eagerly raised his paddle again. Before the host could even call the number, he turned around to mock Harry ruthlessly. "Hey delivery boy, want me to buy this for your mom? Oh wait, you can’t even afford the taxes on it!"

“He's right, you know. It feels so amazing to be taken care of by a capable, strong man… especially after being married to a sore loser.”

They had won the ring for $250 thousand dollars, and several women looked at Julia with jealousy over her good fortune. While some others were sympathising with her and congratulating her for finding a successful partner and leaving her toxic husband behind.

Over the next hour, dozens of high-priced items went under the hammer. Harry kept his head low, feeling bored and uninterested. But Julia and Derek assumed his disinterest to be another sign of his poverty, feeling more confident in mocking and humiliating him with every second.

Finally, the main lights dimmed even further, and a dramatic spotlight hit the center stage.

“And now, ladies and gentlemen, the moment everyone has been waiting for—the legendary antique ring from the fallen noble family, the House of Yorvenns. Legend says that this ancient ring is deeply connected to the bloodline of the Yorvenn clan, but not only that! It also holds the ultimate secret to a hidden treasure… vast enough to rival an entire nation! The starting bid is set at one million dollars, with minimum increments of 100 thousand dollars!"

Derek’s eyes turned red– he was absolutely determined to win this ring tonight. He had secretly prepared a total of ten million dollars, which was a whole year's worth of his massive allowance from his wealthy family abroad.

For the true giants, which were the major families in the city, an old ring might mean very little, maybe just another addition to their vast collections.

But for someone on the outskirts of powerful circles, like Derek, winning this legendary treasure meant everything.

He had to have it, it was the ladder to prove his worth.

He raised his paddle high and shouted arrogantly, "Three million dollars!"

The room gasped loudly at his boldness— this man had tripled the starting price in one go.

After all, it was just an old antique ring with a fictional story, without any real value.

Winning it for a higher price could mean betting all your money on an illusion, if the legend turned out to be fake.

And besides, Derek Johnson’s family had a fearsome reputation in the city. They were connected to both the underworld and the highest government authorities, and it was said his family had risen straight from the criminal shadows.

Because of his background, no one else in the audience dared to raise their paddle against him.

The host grew visibly anxious, trying hard to stir up interest. After all, this was supposed to be the most anticipated item of the night, and it was sold on the first call?

The head guard stepped forward, raising his gloved hand to address the eager crowd. "Attention everyone! General boarding will commence in exactly ten minutes according to the official seniority guest list!"Thinking that she still had plenty of time before the boarding started, Julia turned right back toward Harry, desperate to drive him away and humiliate him off the dock once and for all."Did you hear that, Harry?!" Julia sneered loudly. "Only elite guests on the seniority list get to step foot on that luxury ship! Why don't you do everyone a huge favor and crawl back to your little village before the guards throw you into the dirty water?!"Standing beside Priscilla, Violet burst into a loud, obnoxious laugh."Oh, dear Julia! Didn't you know?!" Violet chimed in, tossing her hair back with immense sarcasm. "The man you are insulting right now is supposedly a famous, supreme heir! Or at least... that's what my senile grandpa and my totally dumb cousin Priscilla blindly believe!

Beside her, Violet strutted forward carrying a lavish basket of rare imported fruits, her sharp eyes scanning the gathering crowd like a hungry hawk searching for trouble.Within seconds, Violet nudged Priscilla sharply with her elbow, a malicious smirk spreading across her face."Well, well, look over there, dear cousin!" Violet whispered snidely. "Isn't that your former best friend Julia? And look who else showed up like a stubborn flea that won't go away!"Priscilla followed her cousin's pointing finger, and her breath caught slightly in her throat. Standing tall and composed near the front of the executive cordon was Harry. He was dressed in a sharp,

"I don't know what happened to him all of a sudden, Harry," Noemie said, her sweet voice breaking slightly with genuine worry over the phone. "Out of nowhere, he developed a burning high fever and became extremely weak. Right now, he is struggling to even get up from the bed on his own! The family doctors are examining him, but I'm just so very worried about his condition."Hearing the pure distress in her trembling voice, Harry felt a wave of sympathy for the anxious young woman."It's completely okay, Noemie," Harry reassured her softly, his deep voice carrying a steady, comforting warmth. "Don't stress about our business meeting at all right now. You focus entirely on being there for your grandfather and taking good care of him. As soon as I get free from my urgent commitments tomorrow, I promise I'll come over to personally visit your grandpa and check on his health, okay? So please, don't worry too much."Noemie let out a long, tearful sigh of relief on the other end. "Oh, Har

Harry slowly lowered the phone from his ear and tapped the red button on the bright screen, ending the call with Nancy. The quiet hallway of the hospital wing was peacefully still, the sunlight streaming through the tall glass windows and casting long shadows across the polished marble floor. Harry leaned against the wall, crossing his arms over his chest as he took a long, slow breath and began sorting through his crowded thoughts. He knew very well that he originally had two important appointment lined up for the upcoming days. The first pending matter was with the powerful and mysterious Astor family, whom he had met as Clara's boyfriend. Harry tapped his chin thoughtfully, his sharp eyes narrowing as he weighed the situation in his mind. 'As long as Clara and her father didn't initiate contact with me first, it's completely fine with me,' Harry thought to himself with cool detachment. He didn't really have any burning desire or reason to reach out to them on my own, especially

Meanwhile, back at the hospital, the quiet luxury of the VVIP suite was peaceful once again. Harry sat patiently beside his mother's bed, gently holding her warm, frail hand. The continuous, steady rhythm of the heart monitor filled the room with a soothing background hum. Eleanor was resting against the soft pillows, her pale face looking far less stressed than it had during the chaotic morning confrontation. "Mom, you don't have to worry about a single thing anymore," Harry assured her softly, his deep voice full of warmth and gentle care. "Everything is completely fine now. The doctors are taking exceptional care of you, the bad people have been permanently kicked out, and nothing like this will ever happen again under my watch. Just close your eyes and get some deep rest, okay?" Eleanor smiled weakly, her tired eyes softening as she squeezed his fingers. "As long as you are safe, Harry... that is all that matters to me." Within a few minutes, Eleanor's breathing grew deep and
