"Where are the rest?" Ms. Fiona asked, the nervousness in her voice evident.

"Eh? Which others? I was ruthlessly thrown off the cliff by Trevor, Jack, and James. They dragged me out of the camp secretly, and after a serious round of beating, they threw me off the cliff. You don't expect me to have kept tabs on them while at the bottom of the cliff, right?" Lux asked in a nonchalant tone, but the anger and irritation behind his nonchalant attitude were like subtitles on his face.

"Umm... so you mean that they tossed you down there?" Ms. Fiona asked in a barely audible tone.

"Of course not... I obviously got tired of living, so I deliberately jumped off the cliff, and surprisingly, I'm happy to have survived," Lux said with a tone that reeked of sarcasm.

Although Ms. Fiona had saved him a couple of times, Lux didn't have a favorable impression of her. She always seemed to back off or act like she didn't see anything when he was being bullied by people from influential backgrounds. He was disgusted by her cowardice.

"It's good to know that you're alright. Come with me. I'll take you to the forest security. The wildlife excursion was prematurely ended two days ago after you and the others went missing," Ms. Fiona explained as she grabbed Lux's hand and led him back to the forest entrance.

"Oh my, it ended so soon? That's sad," Lux said in a flat tone, obviously not interested in whatever she wanted to say next.

After a few minutes of walking, Ms. Fiona and Lux finally left the forest. After a short conversation, they said their farewells, and Lux boarded a cab back home.

___

"Finally, about ten more minutes to my apartment. Oh, I've never missed it so bad," Lux muttered, a sigh of relief escaping his lips.

Boom, bang, boom, boom.

"Eh? Stop the cab!" Lux yelled at the cab driver, the cab driver stunned by the sudden outburst of his passenger.

"Is there any problem, sir?" the driver asked, looking at Lux with a confused expression.

"Can't you hear the sound of explosions from up ahead? Why are you still driving in that direction?" Lux yelled, obviously pissed.

"Explosions? I don't hear the sound of any explosions around," the driver said, a confused expression plastered across his face.

Lux observed the cab driver's face and noticed that the cab driver seemed very serious.

Lux looked out the cab window and noticed that the pedestrians and others were going on with life like nothing was happening.

"Am I the only one who can hear it?" Lux muttered before turning back to the cab driver.

"I'll drop off here," Lux said as he squeezed the last few notes he had on him into the cab driver's palm and got down from the cab.

Looking toward the direction he had heard the sound of explosions, Lux sprinted.

"Oh, Ms. Elenore, did you really think that you, a bronze realm blue totem wielder, could defeat me? Lumiere Sungate, a gold realm red totem wielder!" Lumiere shouted, his gaze locked on a blue-haired woman who knelt on one knee a few steps from him.

"You evil brutes from the Sungate family. Pearl of the Sea has nothing to do with you. Why do you insist on going against my Raizen Alliance? Do you think my Raizen Alliance has no one!" Elenore yelled, the despair in her voice evident.

"Haha. Brutes, how accurate. Did you really think we would let your Raizen Alliance get the Pearl of the Sea? We have given our terms: let the young Ms. Fedora marry into our family. We have an outstanding young master, Davon."

"Pfft..."

Lumiere was in the midst of his overly long speech when he heard an escaped chuckle from the side.

"Who's there? Fall out this instant," Lumiere said, turning his head toward the direction of the chuckle.

"Hehe... hello!" Lux stepped out from behind a building, scratching the back of his head.

"A totem wielder, how long have you been there?" Lumiere asked, squinting his eyes slightly.

"Oh my, I was just passing by when I overheard someone say some absurd bull crap like Fedora Raizen getting married to that monkey and antelope crossbreed Davon Sungate," Lux said, clenching his teeth in rage.

"Insolence! Totem Link!!!" Lumiere shouted. As if on command, flames materialized from thin air, forming a vivid image of a blazing gate.

_# Flame Pillar Burst #_

Lumiere pointed toward Lux as pillars of flames shot out from behind him, charging straight for Lux.

"Oh shit, we have a fire lord now? What is going on with this world?" Lux cursed as he ran as fast as he could toward a nearby building.

"You think you can run? TRACE!!!" Lumiere roared as he shifted his finger, causing the direction of the flame pillars to change and keep chasing Lux.

"What the damn hell!!!" Lux yelled as he ran as fast as he could, while thinking of a solution to his current predicament.

"Hey, run over here!"

At this moment, like the voice of an angel, Elenore's voice resounded through the battlefield.

Lux scanned the battlefield and made a swift decision.

"It's go broke or go home," Lux muttered. With a sharp turn, he ran directly toward Lumiere, the flame pillars right behind him.

"You insolent brat, DISPERSE!" Lumiere yelled, dispersing the flame pillars after realizing Lux's plan to use him as a shield.

Taking advantage of the opening, Lux bolted past Lumiere and toward Elenore.

"You think I'd let you? You can both die!" Lumiere yelled as he conjured a flame spear and tossed it toward Lux.

_# Ice Barrier, Tenfold #_

Just as the flame spear was about to hit Lux, an ice barrier appeared, blocking the spear.

Lux looked up and saw Elenore, who was sweating profusely with her arms outstretched and a blue ice flake diagram suspended in front of her.

A word flashed across Lux's mind: Totem!!!

"Hurry, I can't hold on for much longer," Elenore yelled, having noticed that Lux had zoned out.

Upon hearing Elenore, Lux bolted forward at full throttle. A crisp cracking sound resounded through the battlefield, and a hairy heat wave that sent chills down Lux's spine blew past his neck.

Lux looked forward and noticed that if he were to dodge the flame spear, it would go straight for Elenore.

Seeing his next action as a no-brainer, Lux ran forward and pushed Elenore down.

The flame spear barely brushed past his back before flying off into the distance and slamming into a building, causing it to collapse.

"Fuck, he seems to be charging up for another attack," Lux cursed out loud as he aided Elenore back to her feet.

The duo, Elenore and Lux, bolted off, hoping to escape the range of the next attack.

"Do you think you can escape from me?" Lumiere yelled, his right palm raised up high.

Blazing Meteor #

"Feast your eyes," Lumiere yelled, swinging down his right arm as a blazing fireball tore through the air, aiming straight for Lux and Elenore.

"Ugh, I won't be able to stop an attack of this magnitude. I'm sorry for getting you involved in all of—"

"Please stop sounding like we're going to die. Tell me, how do I use a totem?" Lux cut her short, asking a question that left her dumbfounded.

"You mean to tell me that you, a totem wielder, don't know how to summon your totem?" Elenore yelled, running at full speed.

"If I did, why would I ask?" Lux responded, an exasperated expression on his face.

"You need to be attuned with your totem. Then you can summon it using the chant 'Totem Link'," Elenore yelled, sweat dripping into her eyes.

At this point, the blazing fireball was seconds away from impact.

Hearing Elenore's instructions, Lux made a swift decision.

Making an abrupt turn, he stretched his arms forward and yelled, "Totem—" his body seemed to have stopped responding.

"To think we have such an idiot for a pilot soul. Yo, Grey, wanna handle this one?" a deep and heavy voice resounded in Lux's head.

The world seemed to have slowed down.

"Death, you handle it. I'm too lazy," a rather laid-back voice resounded through Lux's head.

"Fine then."

Lux, who was trying to regain control of his body, suddenly blacked out.

"Ugh, such a weak body," Death's deep voice escaped from Lux's mouth.

"Our pilot soul needs to work on it."

"Summon! TOTEM!" Death, who was now in control of Lux's body, yelled.

A silver Ankh appeared behind him. It radiated a dark and gloomy aura that sent chills down people's spines on a sunny day.

"Grey, release the restriction on the time law."

"Sure thing, Death."

_# Hell's Gate #_

Death stretched his hand forward as a gigantic black gate materialized in mid-air, facing the blazing fireball that had resumed descending at insane speeds.

_BOOOMMM_

The blazing fireball and the black gate exploded, sending a massive shock wave that destroyed the surroundings.

"Got it," Elenore, who was the farthest away from the point of impact, rushed back just in time to see where the Pearl of the Sea landed.

She grabbed it quickly, before running to where Lux lay unconscious.

Tossing Lux over her shoulder, she ran away from the scene.

___

"Where am I?" Lux woke up, his gaze fixed on the unfamiliar ceiling.

He sat up and looked around.

It was a large room decorated with antique vases and vintage paintings.

Lux was seated on an absurdly large bed, so large that it could contain fifty Lux and still have space.

"This is insane," Lux muttered as he stood up from the bed.

"Oh! You're finally awake," a rather calm and familiar voice resounded through the room.

Lux turned around to the sight of Elenore, who stood at the entrance to the door.

Elenore donned a sky-blue gown. Her silky black hair flowed down her shoulders, with sky-blue pupils to top it off.

She was an exceptional beauty, her beauty capable of driving nations to war.

"Oh, um... Ms. Elenore, where am I?" Lux asked, feigning composure.

"Please... call me Elenore, and welcome to the Raizen Family manor. Please, come with me. The Raizen family matriarch would like you to join her for dinner," Elenore said, turning around as she walked down the large corridor.

"Have me? Join her for dinner?"

"Wait for me!!!" Lux yelled as he ran after Elenore.

A few minutes after walking, the duo arrived in front of a large door.

"Please, be on your best behavior. At this point, I'm literally begging you. Don't do anything weird... okay?" Elenore said, looking at Lux with a pleading expression.

"I can't promise, but I'll try... hehe," Lux replied, a mysterious grin plastered across his face.

_Creeaaakkkk_

The massive door was pushed open by Elenore with relative ease as they stepped into an extremely large dining hall.

"Walk with me," Elenore whispered in a barely audible tone.

Lux, who was the only one who heard her, nodded slightly before following right behind her.

"Please sit," Elenore said, gesturing toward one of the table edges.

The table was immensely large and contained thirty-two seats: fifteen on both long edges and one on each of the table ends, with one of the chairs being a tad bit shorter than the other.

Elenore led Lux to the smaller seat at the edge of the dining table.

"Umm... sure, seems like we're a bit too early," Lux said, turning his head to face Elenore.

"I wanted us to come early and leave a good impression on the Raizen Matriarch. Even though she's my aunt, I hardly ever see her, and even when I do, it's usually on official matters," Elenore said, her tone a bit depressed.

"Oh... I see, so your standing in the family isn't that great," Lux said, nodding his head in understanding while completely ignoring the deadly expression on Elenore's face.

_Creeeeeaaakkkk_

The door opened as a row of maids pushing carts walked in. They acted like no one was in the dining hall, arranged the food, and left the hall just as quickly as they came.

"Dayum, what's wrong with them?" Lux asked, a dumbfounded expression plastered across his face.

"They—"

_Creeeeaaaakkk_

Elenore was mid-sentence when the huge doors to the dining hall were swung open.

A young man dressed in blue robes walked in before announcing, "The Raizen Alliance Council is arriving!!!"

As soon as the blue-robed man finished his announcement, another group of people walked into the dining hall. Each of them donned a light-blue overcoat with a large ice flake drawn at the back.

"I guess I finally get to meet you, young master Orcus?"
