The leader was in the center.
Krueger.
A huge man, almost 1.95 meters tall, with a shaved head, a disheveled black beard, and a scar that cut across his face from his left eyebrow to the corner of his mouth. Above him floated a faint red screen:

Krueger stopped about twenty meters away and smiled, revealing yellowed teeth.

The men behind him laughed. Two of them looked at Lira with obvious hunger.
Lira raised her bow, the arrow already nocked and glowing with mana. Her eyes were cold.

"Plagues? Look who's talking, you little shit. I survived eight years in Blackthorn Penitentiary. I killed six men in there. When this chaos started, I understood quickly: the strong eat the weak. And you…" He pointed the axe at Xander. "You seem pretty strong. But I'm stronger. Level 13, kid. I have an ability that tears flesh like paper. Hand over the redhead and the building, and maybe I'll let you live like my dog."
Xander tilted his head slightly.
"Level 13…" he repeated, almost with pity. "I'm on level 14. And my system isn't some cheap prison version like yours."
Krueger frowned. For the first time, a shadow of doubt crossed his face. He hadn't expected anyone to know his level.
"Enough talk!" he growled. "Get them!"
Six men ran at the same time. Two fired their pistols.
Xander moved.
His Agility 52 turned him into a blur. He dodged the bullets with precise, almost predatory movements. The sword appeared in his hand and cut through the air.
Two bandits fell in less than two seconds, their throats slit. Lira fired three Mana Arrows in quick succession. Each one pierced a man's chest or head with lethal precision. The Parks hid behind a car, trembling.
Krueger roared and charged like a bull. His axe came down with brutal force, charged by a crimson ability called[Rage Cleave].
Xander blocked the blow with his sword. The impact generated a shockwave that cracked the concrete beneath his feet. But he didn't flinch. His Strength 58 was superior.
"You're strong," Xander admitted, pushing the axe aside and punching Krueger in the stomach with his left hand.
The punch sent the large man flying back three meters. Krueger spat blood, his eyes wide with shock.
"Impossible… you're just a kid!"
The last three bandits hesitated. One of them tried to escape.
Lira hit him in the back with an arrow.
Krueger stood up, his face contorted with fury. He pulled a woman from a nearby car—a survivor he had been holding hostage, visibly injured and terrified.
"Get back or I'll kill the bitch!" he yelled, pressing a serrated knife against her neck.
The woman was crying, looking at Xander with despair.
"Please… save me…"
The air grew heavy. Krueger's remaining men pointed their remaining weapons at Xander and Lira.
Krueger smiled again, confidently.
"Now that's more like it. You're going to give me everything. Starting with the redhead. If not…"
It was at that moment that Xander activated his new ability for the first time.
He raised his right hand toward Krueger.
"System Authority: Suppress."
An invisible, yet palpable, wave of royal blue power erupted from Xander. The air seemed to freeze.
Krueger's eyes widened. His whole body trembled violently. The red screen above his head flickered wildly and then turned gray.

The last bandits panicked and tried to escape.
Xander walked slowly toward Krueger, the sword gleaming in the sunlight. His Administrator aura was now fully unleashed. Even Lira felt a shiver at the sight of him.
"You made two mistakes, Krueger," Xander said, his voice calm and deadly. "First, you touched what's mine. Second… you thought your shitty system could compete with mine."
He stopped in front of the kneeling man, who was now whimpering like a child.
The hostage managed to get away, running behind Lira.
Xander raised his sword.
