Chapter 6

 The staff bowed in respect as the duo walked in, lust could be seen in the eyes of the female staff as they looked at Novan with desire.

Novan wasn't used to this treatment so he just kept a straight face and unwavering forward glance.

The reaction of the people and staff at the reception area didn't give Novan the opportunity to admire the ambiance of the 5 star hotel. 

The reception hall was illuminated with beautiful lights, and a huge chandelier hung in the centre of the hall. Beautiful sofas were arranged carefully within the bounds of the hall.

The ACs were on, giving a really chilled welcome. 

The duo stepped out of the elevator and proceeded to the rooftop where their clients awaited them 

They exchanged pleasantries and it was time to sign the agreement documents. 

Novan went through the documents and caught sight of their client's net worth, $900 billion he almost exclaimed. 

He signed and they shook hands. 

This was a big win for the consortium, his dad was on this quest before he met his demise. This Italian company was in most parts of the world. And this meant that Zikkers' Clan consortium was officially international. 

"How much is our monthly revenue?" Novan asked as they settled into the limousine 

"I wouldn't know sir, we don't check that anymore. " William answered honestly 

How could they keep up when their profits keep doubling and tripling within hours 

"I need a change of clothes William, I wouldn't like to meet my in-laws dressed like this. Ordinary comfy clothes would suffice. " Novan said coldly 

"Got it sir." William replied

The clothes fit so well and felt comfortable, this was perfect for his cover up plan.

"I need a few more of this." Novan ordered 

More clothes were packed and Novan decided to pick some pretty outfits for his wife and sister too but not enough to raise their suspicion. 

"I do not want to disclose my identity to them, remember you are my distant uncle" Novan reminded William as they stepped into the apartment where his in-laws awaited them.

"What are you doing in Novan, Italy?" Robert asked amazed 

"My distant uncle here told me that there was a probability that my dad had another family here during his days in Italy." Novan explained 

"So, have you found them?" Robert asked inquisitively 

"Yes but they're not my father's family. It's just a family he assisted while he was here so people thought they were his family." Novan finished and settled down. 

Robert was surprised to see Novan in Italy as he heard that he was poor but this explanation cleared his doubts. Italy was a place where business tycoons came to settle deals and make more investments; there was no way Novan came for investment purposes, He didn't even have a job.

'Novan was still poor, he just came to look for his so-called half siblings.' Robert thought with a slight frown on his face.

"How's our daughter doing?" Alexia's mom asked looking concerned 

"She's with Grandma Rocks and my sister helps keep her company too." Novan replied with a slight smile.

Ever since Robert discovered that his daughter had gotten married to a poor man, he decided to work out a way for himself and his daughter. 

He had planned to have his own mining industry and also have outlets where he will sell different types of gold items.

"I trust you are well sir Robert?" Novan asked 

'What can he possibly do in this wretched state?How could a live-in-son-in-law possibly help me?' Robert's face was shaped into a frown.

"You wouldn't understand even if I explain." Robert replied with a deeper frown.

He seemed to be lost in thoughts. 

He had heard that Novan was a live-in-son-in-law to his family and he felt disappointed in himself for not being wealthy enough to provide for his daughter.

"Can you look up Robert for me?" Novan requested as they walked out of the apartment 

"I want to know everything." Novan added

"Got it sir." William answered 

The duo went back to their hotel suites and Novan was greeted with the waiters who brought an array of some of the best Italian dishes which included Ossobuco which is an elaborate Italian dish that involves the meat to be cooked slowly for about 3 hours which will enable the meat to soak all its juice and flavours. Lasagna, Fettuccine creamy pasta, pizza, Truffles, Focaccia and white wine.

Novan started with the Focaccia and soon enough he was full. This was the best meal he has had ever since he got married. 

After a sumptuous feast, Novan took a nap but was woken by William. 

"Come in William. " he called with somnolent

"Mr Robert is near bankrupt, his plan was to work in the mining industry where he learnt to mine so he could start up his own industry and keep up with expenses. However, his request was declined and now he's left with nothing. His share percentage in the Rocks family business is 15% and with the way the business is barely surviving, he makes nothing of it." William explained without waiting for another word from Novan 

"So that was the reason for his long face?" Novan asked rhetorically 

"What company is that?" Novan inquired as he touched his beard with his fingers 

"It's the Aurum Resource Group sir, we have over 50% shares there." William replied by handing over an iPad to Novan with the group's details. 

Without any further ado, Novan instructed. 

"Tell them that the CEO of the consortium said that the highest position available should be given to Mr Robert and this should take effect immediately. "

"Got it sir" William acknowledged with a bow.

"One more thing." Novan added and William listened with rapt attention 

"I am Mr Anonymous. Do not expose my identity as the CEO of the Zikkers' Clan consortium. Rearrange my office, let there be blinds behind every window and let my table be shifted from the centre of the office to the side of the office preferably behind the door, also make a secret entrance for me to go into my office from the kitchen downstairs and lastly, make a public announcement in Beacon Hills that the consortium will be investing $200billion dollars in engineering and building companies. That will be all for now" Novan signalled with his hands. 

Novan had a gruntled stay and now, it was time to go back home.

Before they left, William gave him a Gold card with a capital N on it and told him that he needed some change.

Novan asked how much was in the card and William told him that it was the sum of $20 billion. 

$20billion as change? This consortium was surely a big one.

William also gave Novan a key to his office and a document containing all the names, job positions and monthly wage of all the staff in every of the companies listed under the consortium. 

'Mm mm let's see who controls the money and power now' Novan smirked 

They went by land and Novan requested that he be dropped at the Grand city hall. He didn't want to arouse suspicion of any kind.
