The car came to a stop in front of the famous 'Urban Bites'. It was listed the 30th ranked in the world.
"Hold on sir, I won't take much time." The mayor said as he turned off the car and stepped out.
A few minutes later, he was back with packs of food and water. Novan could see the staff prostrating and greeting him with utmost respect.
"Forgive me sir, I couldn't bear to see you go in there like this. We will get you a new change of clothes and a better phone once we get to Italy." The mayor said as he settled down in the car.
It was going to be off seeing their boss to be dressed in wretched clothes. The mayor had been waiting for this moment for over a year now, he didn't want anything to go wrong.
Novan didn't care much about what the mayor said. His eyes were in the packs of food before him containing assorted dishes. He had been so focused on the documents that he lost track of time and now, his tummy was telling on him.
The dishes bought by the mayor were their best dishes which included their special spaghetti and meatballs, chips and omelettes with ketchup on the side, their oxtail soup and their special Virgin Margarita mocktails.
They both ate the food with aspiration and satisfaction, soon after they were on the road again.
After a brief phone call to his wife and sister and a little nap, Novan saw himself approaching a billboard with some words written on it 'Welcome to Italy'
Novan heaved a sigh of relief when the Black Rolls Royce finally parked in front of a luxurious hotel.
The ambiance of the hotel screamed luxury.
The mayor booked two VIP rooms for his boss and himself.
"Tomorrow, we will leave by 10am. All you need to do when you get there is to sign the agreement document and our work there will be done. Call the room service if you need anything. I will send some people to bring you a clean suit and a new phone. Is there any specific type of phone you want?" The mayor asked finally.
"What is your name, Mr. Mayor?" Novan asked
"Oh forgive me sir, you can call me Williams Booth." The mayor replied as he bowed slightly.
"Okay William's, there is one more thing I'd like. " Novan continued. He needed to start acting like the CEO he was.
"Anything at all sir." Novan remained in his bowling position.
"I want to meet with my wife's father before going back to Beacon Hills. " Novan finished and stood nonchalantly
"That will not be a problem sir, call me if you need anything else." William replied.
The night was beautiful and his sleep was long, Novan felt like a baby sleeping on a really succulent mattress. This hotel lived up to their name.
The interior was top notch, the bed was soothing, the chairs and sofas were appealing and the fresh flowers in almost every corner of the room gave out the gentle feel of nature. The outside view from the room was comforting.
Novan the poor and wretched live-in-son-in-law has seen the light.
At about 8:00 am the next morning, one of the male staff of the hotel brought in a shopping bag the had 'DeLuxe' written on it
Novan opened up the bag and saw 2 two piece suits that looked so expensive. A Navy blue suit and a Black suit.

The next item he saw in the bag was a brand new phone that had his name written at the right hand bottom of the phone. The phone felt light, yet exuded all shades of luxury.
He also saw a perfume at the other end of the bag with the name Baccarat Les Larmes Sacrèe de Thebes which cost about $6,800. Novan exclaimed in shock.
The estimated cost of everything in the bag rounded up to $204,800. Novan's jaw dropped but he didn't let it get to him this time around. He was now a Trillionaire, a couple of hundred thousands doesn't mean anything to him now.
Novan quickly freshened up and put on the Navy blue suit which fitted him perfectly. He brushed his hair and put on his perfume.
He was ready to become the CEO of Zikkers 'Clan consortium.
He took a glance at himself in the mirror one more time, and he couldn't believe that he was a poor live-in-son-in-law few days ago.
Just then, a knock on the door disrupted his thoughts.
"Good morning boss, I trust you slept well." William greeted
"Yes I did William, What's on the schedule for today?" Novan asked nonchalantly.
'I guess I wouldn't have to do so much work being the trillionaire consortium's CEO, I already have lots of staff working for me' Novan's thoughts made him feel good
"Sir, our first stop is the Sky Gold hotel. After signing the agreements, we would proceed to see your father in-law. I already made arrangements. " William said astutely.
William grinned in delight as he led Novan out of his suite. It was nice to finally have a boss and to see Novan accept his rightful position as the CEO of the Zikkers' Clan consortium.
The duo got to the car park and Novan was feeling amiss, he couldn't see the Black Rolls Royce sports car they came in with yesterday.
He looked at the mayor who kept on walking into the wide array of luxurious cars.
Novan followed closely until they got to the front of a Lamborghini Aventador limousine.
"What!?" Novan shouted when he saw the car.
"This is a Lamborghini limo, it hasn't even been launched yet. Where did you get this from?" Novan asked with disbelief.
"It was a gift sire." William answered as he opened the door of the limo.
'A Lamborghini Aventador Limousine is a gift!? How big and influential is this trillion dollar consortium?'
"Who gifted you a Lamborghini limo?" Novan asked again, still finding it hard to believe.
"No, not me sir. It was gifted to the CEO of the Zikkers' Clan consortium. " William pointed out
Novan could feel lumps in his throat as he tried to talk but words wouldn't come out.
"It was gifted by an Italian sports car company. Which is also one of the companies listed under the Zikkers' Clan consortium" William informed the CEO
The limo had heated seats, rear plasma screens, surround sound, iPod docks, a wet bar and lots of other features Novan was yet to discover.
"Mmm." Novan growled as he settled into the limo.
Just how influential was this consortium that a big sports company could give a car that hasn't been released yet to its CEO?
The drive lasted for about three minutes and they alighted from the sports car and awe could be seen on people's faces as they saw the car.
However, as the duo went towards the entrance to the lobby then the elevator people couldn't stop but admire the men, especially Novan. He looked extravagant and handsome.
The staff of the hotel already knew that the duo were wealthy as their outfits were luxurious and on par.
The staff bowed in respect as the duo walked in, lust could be seen in the eyes of the female staff as they looked at Novan with desire.
