Kael didn’t look back. He knew better now and he was slowly beginning to see the world for what it is. He was slowly moving on from people who wanted him to fall, people who hated him. That part of his life, the part that begged for scraps and apologies from people who saw him as less, was over. When Kael promised to do the impossible, the students were all eager to see and make sure he fulfilled his promises. The school portal was filled with different stories and gossip of how Kael has humiliated Jason and even worse. Some of them either added to it while some went ahead to make mockery of Jason. Of course, they were done under false names and different users. If Jason gets a hold of them, they were going to be pleading for mercy, just like Thomas and his father was. The silence was deafening. Not a single bird chirped, not a breeze moved. It was as if the entire world held its breath. Mr. Felix stood frozen in place, eyes fixed on Jason’s polished shoe being thrust arrogantly in his direction. The air around him thickened with humiliation, but not for the reason Jason thought. The man who had just bowed before him in gratitude, who had shown more humility than anyone in that academy ever had, was now being mocked in front of his own son—and everyone was watching like it was a damn TV show. “
