Nolan continued dancing with the girls, laughing and grinning. He felt good.He had not planned to dance tonight and only wanted to get a drink and clear his mind.

But now, here he was, lost in the music, his hands on a stranger’s waist, with other girls smiling and moving around him.

He didn’t even know how much time had passed until he started to feel tired and his shirt was sticking to his skin with sweat. Also, his throat felt dry from the shouting.

He leaned close to the girl he was dancing with. “I need to get something to drink,” he said loudly so she could hear him over the music. “I’ll be right back.”

The girl gave him a little pout, but she nodded and stepped away.

Nolan began to push through the crowd again.

It felt like he was dragging himself forward as his leg was starting to hurt after so much dancing.

Finally, he reached the bar. He leaned on the counter, panting and trying to catch his breath.

The bartender, a tall man, looked at him with a smile. “What would you li

Deep down, Serena felt relieved that she hadn’t hesitated earlier when she saw Nolan sitting by himself and drinking. If she had made the mistake of walking away, she might have missed the chance to be part of whatever life this man lived and maybe even get her hands on a little bit of that money herself.Nolan had also tried to climb up onto the counter like she had, but from the angle he was standing, it was hard for him to. He kept trying to pull himself up, but it wasn’t working. Serena noticed right away and she quickly shifted closer to where he was, leaning forward slightly and stretching her hand out toward him.“Let me help you,” she said sweetly, smiling as the dimple on her left cheek appeared again.Nolan looked up at her and held her gaze for a moment, the corners of his mouth lifting into a faint smile. Finally, he reached out and took her hand but Serena wasn’t planning to simply pull him up. She had other ideas and just when he thought she was going to help him onto

Nolan held the crumpled notes in his hands, squeezing them tighter until they were just little balls in his palm and he tossed them straight at the tattooed man’s face. The alcohol in his system was making him bold. Although, his head was a little dizzy and his words were slow but his courage was higher than ever. He laughed loudly as he saw the tattooed man’s reaction. He looked really angry as he took a step toward him, grabbing Nolan suddenly by the collar, shaking him hard as he spoke to him. “Did you just throw money at me?” He snarled, spit flying out of his mouth. “Are you out of your goddamn mind!? You must really have a death wish today, you bastard!”Nolan didn’t stop laughing and it even got louder. He was enjoying every second of this man’s anger. “Before you do anything to me,” he said slowly, leaning his head slightly to one side, “I want to show you something.”At that moment, the bar door opened and Nolan’s eyes moved to it, his smirk deepening. The bartender walke

Nolan groaned as the person spun him around so quickly. The sudden movement made his head spin and his stomach turn. The alcohol in his body was making him feel worse than he would have normally felt. He blinked a few times, trying to focus his eyes. Standing in front of him was a man who had on a sleeveless shirt that showed both his arms. His arms were covered in dark tattoos that went all the way from his wrists to his neck. The tattoos were messy and crowded, and they made him look even more intimidating. He had an angry sneer on his face, opening his mouth and showing his yellow teeth. His eyes were narrowed, and his jaw was tight like he was about to punch someone.Behind him stood three other men. They were bigger than an average man and stood close together, all looking at Nolan with the same angry expression.“Excuse me?” Nolan said slowly, squinting at the man.“Are you deaf?” the man barked at him. “I said you’re in my spot. Get the hell up.”Nolan looked at him for a mo

“Why are you acting like you don’t know what I’m talking about, hun?” the lady said in a teasing voice. She leaned in closer to him, her fingers gently rubbing his arm before slowly moving her hand down towards his thigh.Nolan frowned in confusion. “What… why are you touching me like that?” he asked, his words slightly slurred and out of disgust, he pushed her away with more force than he intended. “I didn’t ask you to touch me, so who are you to do it?”The woman sat still for a moment, shocked before turning her back in her seat with a loud scoff. She could not believe what had just happened. Men in this club usually welcomed her touch. She had been doing this for a long time, walking up to men who sat alone, starting small conversations, and then leading them somewhere more private for sex. Most men wanted it and most of them even begged for it.But Nolan was different. He had actually rejected her and even pushed her away. She was very angry and embarrassed. Without saying anoth

Nolan kept driving toward home, but his thoughts kept drifting back to Fiona. He could still feel her weight on his lap and could still remember her lips on his and he couldn’t stop wondering what would have happened if he hadn’t pushed her away. Part of him was glad he had stopped her. Another part of him was curious and wanted to know why she was acting like that and why she suddenly wanted him because it didn't make sense. He shook his head. He needed to stop thinking about it. It had already been a long and stressful day, and his mind was too full. He needed a break and also needed to clear his head.He noticed a small building ahead with bright lights and loud music spilling out onto the street and the sign above it glowed in neon colors. It was a mini club.He had never been inside a club before and he had heard people talk about it, saying it was exciting, fun, and wild. Maybe tonight he could see for himself why people enjoyed going there so much.He decided to stop and the
