Arrival at the Academy

The statement from Jared received ridicule from the boys in the middle of the field. It practically provokes Jared’s emotions and eventually makes him chase one by one of his friends.

Theo watched from the side-lines. Although it seemed to make fun of them, but he felt that the boys had no evil intentions at all. They're just really playing with each other. And, it was a rare sight Theo had ever seen in his entire life.

“Excuse me...”

One word from Theo instantly got the attention of the rest of the boys there. They simultaneously turned to Theo without daring to interrupt until Theo continued his speech.

Theo stared at one by one of them and gulped his saliva roughly. “Can I play with you guys?”

Quiet for a moment. Theo was worried. Then another surprise attacked him.

“Oh my gosh... You don't have to ask permission to play with us!” One of the boys grabbed Theo’s shoulder tightly and was followed by the others.

“That's right! Play with us!”

Theo felt incredible happiness for the first time. A comfort he had never felt before. A smile that had never been shown to him before. Now he gets it all from his new friends.

Is this what it's like to have friends? Theo nodded.

Jared smiled in relief. He turned towards Theo and hugged him.

“Let's play together!”

“Start from tomorrow I will take care of you at school!" Jared said cheerfully.

After playing football, the two of them chose to sleep on the backyard grass instead of going inside the building.

"School?”

Jared nodded. “I know that you must not be used to it because I also felt that way at the beginning of school. I hope you don't get wet tomorrow." Jared laughed.

“Why should I wet the bed?” Theo furrowed his eyebrows.

“Know that even though Madam Liz looks gentle, she is quite firm when she is teaching." Jared put on a serious look that did not match his face at all. “Some kids even cry and pee in the bed because they are afraid of her.”

“So it happened to you too?" Theo asked innocently.

Jared snapped. Then his face blushed out. “I –I didn't pee in the bed!”

Theo knew that Jared was lying. However, he did not intend to make fun of Jared and chose to remain silent while imagining what a decent school atmosphere would be like.

At first, Theo thought that this orphanage was only to accommodate orphans or the less fortunate. But it turns out that this orphanage has its school, which aims to educate the residents of the orphanage. A very rare thing to find today. Usually, orphanages do not think about the education of abandoned children, especially for people like Theo. People with Tyr Gods syndrome are very difficult to accept by society, therefore they are prohibited from attending school or getting a decent life.

“Why is Madam Liz nice to us?" Theo asked as he looked at the wisps of white clouds in the sky. “Aren't we Monsters? Why would she bother helping monsters like us?”

Jared followed Theo’s gaze. "Monster..." Jared sighed. “Is that how they think of you as a monster?”

“If not monsters, why do we look different?”

Jared bit his lip. He realized that THeo was in excruciating pain. It's like a mixture of anger and sadness. “People out there are just scared of us without trying to understand. And Madam Liz is trying to protect us from the cruelty out there while slowly figuring out how we can be accepted by the public.”

“Is that true?”

Jared shrugged his shoulders. “You know what? No matter how much we do good, there will be people who don't see it and still hate us for no reason.” Jared turned his body to face Theo. “But the most important thing is that we keep doing good things without being affected by their negative thoughts towards us. Because we do good things for ourselves.”

Theo blinked his eyes several times. He didn't expect that a hyperactive person like Jared could say such soothing words.

While living on the streets, Theo can never sleep well because he has to think about how to survive alone. But after living here, Theo never felt worried again. He could get decent food without having to fight here, he could also sleep comfortably on a soft bed. Until recently he could have dreams in his sleep.

To the point that he forgets the other most important thing.

"Theo hurry up!”

The scream jolted Theo from his deep sleep. Pulled him out of such a beautiful dreamland. Then Theo felt his body shake very violently as if the person had not been quite satisfied with just shouting.

“Let's get up! Do you want us to be punished?”

It was Jared, complete with his panicked look.

“What is it?" asked Theo while rubbing his eyes.

“What is it? Can you still relax like this when we're almost out?" Jared shouted in front of Theo’s face, instantly waking him up in an instant. “Take a shower now or I'll wash you!”

As soon as he heard Jared’s command, Theo immediately got out of bed and ran in the direction where the bathroom. He who is still not fully conscious must be willing to hit the wall while running in a hurry.

“Oh my God, he's really fast." Jared shook his head in disbelief. “Didn’t he know it's still dark out there?” Then the boy giggles and ends up laughing out loud realizing that Theo is so easy to play with.

“Ekhem!”

A loud demand roused Jared from his laughter. He then realized that the voice was coming from Martin and immediately took a firm standing position.

“Where is Theo?" Madam Liz asked, realizing that the red-eye boy was not in his room. “Are you messing with the new kid again, Jared?”

Jared gave a wide grin while scratching his non-itchy nape.

“Yeah...”

Madam Liz sighed. “You should apologize to him later.” She warned the boy.

“Got it! Madam Liz!" Jared said as he raised his hand in tribute. After that, Jared came out of Theo’s room and walked towards the place where Theo was.

Meanwhile, Madam Liz looked from behind with an expression that was difficult to decipher. After making sure there was no one but her, Madam Liz snapped a finger, and instantly a purple crystal appeared and floated above her hand. "We've got the right boy, Master, he'll be ready in a few months."

"The Chosen One? Are you sure? Don't be too hard on Liz. We must watch him until it is proven that he is the Chosen One."

"I understand, Master Lazarus."
