CHAPTER TWELVE

Peter got to his room and headed straight for the bathroom, done with that, he started learning how to cast a lightning spell ‘lightning bolt’. It took him a couple of hours to cast it.

Lightening spells are quite destructive like flame spells, but they had an extra advantage because they help increase the users' mobility, but to do that you have to get he has to reach my third circle, but that’s for normal people.

He practised the spell for a few more hours until he heard a knock on his door, the person opened it and Sarah poked her head through the gap and saw him casting fireball and lightning bolt at the same time with amazing speed.

“Wow, you can now cast both spells simultaneously,” she said stepping into the room. She sat on the bed and watched him continue practising.

“Any improvement on the control of your nature affinity,” peter asked her. He stopped practising and grabbed a towel to clean the sweat from his body.

“I can feel nature now better than before, maybe it’s because of the magic staff that improved it,” she said and he nodded in agreement. That staff has a great connection with nature users, so it will surely aid her. 

When it was dinnertime, peter changed and they both went to the dining room. They met the king and queen halfway there. Peter greeted them and the queen gave him her usual motherly smile.

“Peter you have improved to the second level in the beginner’s stage, that’s great,” the king said in acknowledgement and the queen was looking at him like some kind of monster.

“I was just lucky to improve under pressure when I was sparing with knight back then” peter scratched the back of his head and replied to him.

The king nodded in agreement because it was normal to improve when fighting someone stronger than on a regular base. The king had a feeling that no anybody in the beginner’s stage to the second stage of sword knight will be able to beat peter in a one-on-one fight.

“Sarah, your cousin in the next two days, will be going to the academy with you as well,” the queen said. Sarah’s cousin was, the queen’s brother’s daughter, her name was Tina. Sarah’s face turn gloomy as she heard that, peter asked her why and she said that her cousin was spoilt and always causing trouble anytime, she came to the palace.

The queen’s brother was the baron in charge of the mining region of the kingdom and was in charge of the mines and mineral supplies of the kingdom, so being a baron’s daughter, Tina acted high and mighty.

 “She’s still your cousin, and Peter please, don’t get into any argument with her,” the queen said as we entered the dining room he gave her an assuring smile and Sarah grumbled under her breath.

After dinner, they went back to their separate rooms. Peter entered his room and locked the doors and he changed the bracelet back to the cube and placed it on the table.

‘Voltron’s weapon, with it I can use the king's domain skill of his’ he thought as recalled a specific skill that allows someone to control the gravity of anything within three meters, and the higher the magic circle, the wider the range. Peter turned it back into the bracelet and went to sleep.

Jamie’s P.O.V

It has been a week since I got the letter from Peter and I know that he would have done his awakening by now and I am sure he is a sword knight. Ever since I read the letter, I have been training nonstop to be able to catch up to him. I will be going to broken sword school at the end of the week, so I have to improve myself.

“Hey Jamie, come eat something, you have training for a very long time relax a little,” I raised my head and saw Peter’s mother calling me over. She has been in a good mood since we heard that Peter is ok and we are glad because she was pregnant and it was already showing.

“Ok Mrs Grey, I will be there soon” I smiled and dropped my training sword and walked over to her.

‘Don’t worry Peter, I will protect the town until you return,’ I said to myself.

Two days passed and all peter did was to train with the knight during the day and practice his magic at night. Sarah could finally summon wines and cast the rose thorn, which fires four-inch thorns like a bullet. It was the day Tina was coming over to the palace, and Sarah was wearing a flowing green gown, her silver hair tied into a bun, she was wearing her princess tiara today.

The king and queen were also present, the king was wearing a blue suit and was wearing his crown, the queen couldn’t be outshined today, she was wearing a blue flowing gown, her silver hair was flowing down her back, with a crown at the top of her head. She was having a royal majestic aura around her.

The night before, Sarah told peter to dress up nicely or else, with the look on her face, he really did not want to know what she would do, so today he was putting on a blue shirt and black pants, tied his hair into a ponytail and let some fall at both side of his face.

“Looking good Peter, I see you are trying to create a good impression for Tina,” the queen said with a smile, the king also nodded in approval. Sarah on the other glared at me and peter was confused ‘woman you told me to dress up nicely,’ women are indeed troublesome.

Five minutes later a carriage pulled over at the front door and we walked out to receive the carriage. The guard opened the door and a girl the same age as peter came out. She was wearing a yellow knee-length dress, with wavy blonde hair and brown eyes.

“Welcome Tina, hope your trip was not that stressful,” the queen smiled at her as she walked closer to us.

“Good afternoon your majesties, and I enjoyed my trip” she replied and turned to Sarah with a teasing look.

“Long times no see Sarah, I see you look prettier than when we last met and who is this beside you,” she told Sarah before looking at peter. He gave her a slight nod and she smiled at him.

“This is Peter, he is a guest at the palace and would be going to the academy with you,” the queen told her. Sarah just kept quiet, but peter knew she was about to do something.

“Tina, what affinity do you have,” Sarah asked her and he knew it was time for the friendly rivalry to begin.

“You really want to know, I have a three-level fire affinity and I am one of the highest fire levels in my region back home,” she said with a proud look on her face. Sarah gave a smile but it was not the warm type if smile.

“Just one affinity, with your proud look I thought you will have like two high-level affinities,” Sarah said with a sarcastic smile on her face. ‘I really need to watch out for this princess’ peter thought.

“It’s normal to have an affinity, is only when you get to your sixth circle would you awaken another affinity,” Tina said mockingly, thinking Sarah was brainless or something.

“Peter that means we are at the sixth circle right,” she said faking a shocked expression as looked at peter. The queen and king were just watching on, It seem this happened every time the two girls met.

“Don’t drag me into this Sarah,” peter said waving his hands, showing that he has no interest in their fight. Tina looked at both of them with a confused expression and Sarah was smiling when she saw her that way.

“I have a level four wind and nature affinity and Peter has a level five fire and lightning affinity, plus he is also in the second level novice knight class,” she said with a proud expression, relishing Tina's shocked face.

Not only, Tina, but even the guard looked at them as if they were some kind of monsters, especially peter when she said he was also in the knight class. Peter was feeling a headache growing as he rubbed his temples.

“WHAT!” Tina screamed and turned to the queen not wanting to believe anything from Sarah.

“Aunty tell me she is joking, how can that be possible,” she said, even her guards hoped it was a joke because it was unbelievable.

“She is saying the truth, I was surprised as well, especially when it came to Peter’s case” it was the king, who answered and they all knew that it was real.

Tina just kept staring at them in shock and Sarah the evil fox was enjoying it. Poor Tina did not know that she was going to be this shocked as she got into the palace.

“Let’s get inside, lunch is ready,” the queen said, as she try to change everybody's attention in the dining room.
