Oliver Lane: The Rise Of A Young Master

"Don't worry, I will do everything to save your life and maintain all the bills of the hospital," Oliver said, holding his girlfriend Patricia's hand.

She was going through a rare disease which has costly treatment. Being her boyfriend, it was his responsibility to care for her and try his best to save her life.

But God knows what he will do? After doing 3 shifts duty in a day. He didn't give up. But he wasn't able to collect the money yet.

Oliver, is a fair complexion, lean and handsome man living in the streets of New Orleans, Louisiana. He does waiter, sweeper and delivery boy duty.

Many times he stays hungry and save the money for his girlfriend's expensive treatment. He has no one in the world except his girlfriend.

"How will you do that? By doing the small chores work? Are you kidding me?" Patricia jerked her hand away from his hand.

She just doesn't like Oliver much but he was the best option for her to be the perfect puppet. She always wanted a boyfriend, who doesn't have a family who will question her and a person who always follows her orders.

"No babe, I will save you. Please believe me," Oliver said in a low tone. He hung his head low, like he is in front of his master.

Patricia scrunched her nose in disgust and snapped at him angrily, "I don't care whether you beg or steal the money. But I want money at any cost. Now just don't sit here and go bring it."

He opened his mouth to speak but he wasn't able to.

Oliver was ashamed that he couldn't make his girlfriend happy. And he simply nodded his head and walked out of the room.

"I don't know where or how I will pay get rest of the money." He sighed heavily in frustration.

He called his friend, Albert, who promised to help him through this difficult situation, he was in. After a few rings, he picked up the call.

"Thank God, Albert, you answered the call." Oliver mumbled to him.

"Why did you call me Oliver? Say it fast, I don't have much time like you to waste," Albert said in an irritating voice. As he was not at all interested to help him.

Oliver has no other option left except to beg him.

"Albert, please help me to get a few loans. I need it to save my girlfriend. I will return back with interest." He blurted out without letting him answer.

"Okay come to street 33, my master might help you out from this problem," Albert answered him and hung up the call.

Oliver had heard that the street 33, was not a common street but a dark alley with a narrow lane. It can give anyone goosebumps. And how Mafia's guys stay there and do the underlying work in the dark alley.

As he reached the door, he saw a man huffing his cigarette with scorpion tattoos all over the neck. He gulped his anxiety and took the step inside the club.

His gaze stopped at Albert, who was sipping his drink and sitting next to a muscular bodied man.

"Hey, Albert," Oliver yelled in the middle of the club.

Everyone's gaze stopped at him, and they gave him a scrunched nose that looked like he was nothing more than a rotten egg.

"So you are finally here. Let me introduce you to these men."

Before Albert could complete his sentence he walked a few steps to sit on the sofa.

"Stop there. How dare you sit without my permission?" Albert raised his eyebrows and clenched his teeth.

He was a totally different person from what Oliver knew him to be in past years.

"Albert, I am sorry. I will not sit but please help me to get loans. I need it urgently." Oliver folded his hands and pleaded him.

The well dressed man Nick, sitting on the sofa kept his wine glass on the side table. And raised his eyebrows and stated, "Why don't you send your girlfriend to me and in exchange. I will give you the money."

These words raised the temperament of Oliver and he lunged towards him in anger.

Before he could get the chance to attack him, he was beaten brutally by his men.

"Spare him, Nick. He will die if you beat him more." Albert Cole gave a fake sympathy look to Nick.

Nick laughed out and signalled his men to spare Oliver from the beatings. He walked towards Oliver, and wiped blood from his mouth corner.

"I WILL GIVE YOU MONEY. BUT YOU HAVE TO PAY ME WITH INTEREST." Nick furrowed his eyebrows and waiting for the reply of Oliver.

He wanted to test his love for that girlfriend of his, and since he got the reaction he wanted, there was no reason to continue.

"Yes, I agreed to it. Please help me." Oliver mumbled and breathing hard.

An hour later, Oliver left the dark alley with an envelope tightly gripped by his side, entered his old truck and drove straight to the hospital.

Months later, his girlfriend opened her eyes making him the most happiest man alive.

Happiness is an understatement to describe the joy he was feeling, for all this time he never left her side. He kept watching over her at the hospital and seeing her come back to life was the most significant moment in his life.

He has gone through a lot these past few months but seeing the one he loves wake up healthy was worth it, tears of joy streamed down his face as he engulfed her in a warm embrace.

Patricia kept asking questions about how he was able to get the money but Oliver who didn't want her to get worried twisted some words and for the first time lied to her. She was still trying to get to the bottom of it, but Oliver simply said

"Babe, what is important to me is that you are okay, let's get you home."
