#007 Two Clowns

The mansion looked even more majestic at night, with massive crystal chandeliers illuminating every hallway. The moment they arrived inside, Seth knelt and adjusted the bowtie around Dustin's neck.

"Dustin, why don't you go find Grandpa in his study or the dining room? Dad needs to go to the lounge for a moment to meet Uncle Lucian," Seth instructed gently.

Dustin nodded obediently and jogged down the red-carpeted hallway.

Seth walked casually toward the spacious lounge. However, instead of Lucian, he found three strangers there. Two men in high-end suits and a woman sitting on the carpet, playing all by herself.

Seth frowned slightly when he saw the woman. She was playing with expensive wooden chess pieces—tossing them around and making them fight each other like action figures instead of setting them up on the board.

The first man—tall with an incredibly arrogant face—turned his head at the sound of Seth's footsteps.

"Oh, great. A new hire, huh? Quickly fetch me a bottle of brandy from that cabinet. My throat is getting dry waiting for the old man to come down," he ordered casually, assuming Seth was just extra staff for tonight's event.

Seth opened his mouth, about to correct the misunderstanding, but the second man sitting on the sofa with a glass of wine immediately cut him off.

"Don't waste time, Caleb. We're here to confirm the truth behind that rumor," Julian sneered dismissively. "I heard Grandpa suddenly found his biological grandson."

He overheard the discussion about himself. Seth swallowed his retort and calmly walked over to the liquor cabinet. He picked up an expensive bottle of brandy, pretending to wipe down a glass while sharpening his hearing.

"If the rumor is true, that new grandson is a massive threat, Julian!" Caleb scoffed harshly. "Grandpa might just hand over the entire Olympus empire to him."

"You're overreacting," Julian laughed cynically. "Even if he is the biological grandson, he grew up out there like a commoner. There is no way he can compete with us, who have been groomed as business executives since childhood. Besides, Grandpa is a workaholic. He values talent and skill far more than mere blood ties. He won't hand his throne to a moron just because of genetics."

Seth nodded slowly in his mind. His cousins were right about one thing: Alistair did highly value skills. Unfortunately, they severely underestimated Seth's skills.

Seth was about to command the system to uncover their secrets when Caleb suddenly turned and snapped at him.

"Hey, You! Why are you so slow?! Bring the drink right now!" Caleb barked, snapping his fingers in the air. "Are you deaf?!"

Caleb grew increasingly impatient as Seth didn't seem to move any faster.

"Did Lucian hire an idiot?" Julian chimed in with an insulting tone. "We already have one idiot in this room; we don't need another."

Seth initially wanted to know who the 'idiot' Julian referred to was, but his ears were already burning. He didn't need to waste energy playing nice with people who clearly had no respect for him.

Seth turned around and walked toward Caleb. But instead of pouring the brandy into the empty glass on the table, Seth tilted the bottle right above Caleb's head.

He let the golden-brown liquid soak Caleb's hair and ruin his thousand-dollar silk suit.

"Here is your drink," Seth said, his voice as cold as ice.

"YOU BASTARD!" Caleb roared like a madman. He shot up and swung his fist with all his might toward Seth's face.

With highly trained reflexes, Seth dodged it effortlessly. The moment Caleb's fist missed, Seth twisted his body and delivered a brutal kick to Caleb's shin.

His movements were extremely agile because he exercised regularly. His body had only grown weak when Max constantly poisoned him in his past life. Right now, his body was in its prime. Taking down two spoiled brats wouldn't even make him break a sweat.

"D... damn it!" Caleb groaned in agony, nearly tumbling onto the glass table.

Julian immediately jumped from his sofa, ready to intervene.

"DON'T FIGHT!"

A shrill scream stopped both of their movements.

The woman who had been busy playing with the chess pieces suddenly leaped between Seth and Caleb. She spread her arms wide with a terrified expression.

"D-don't fight! Grandpa… angry!"

Seth blinked. The warning itself wasn't wrong, but the delivery was incredibly bizarre.

Seth felt like he was listening to Dustin speak, even though the woman standing in front of him clearly had an adult's physique. She was probably only a few years younger than him.

"Don't be mean!" Her tone was exactly like a toddler breaking up a fight between playmates.

"CHLOE! Move!" Julian barked loudly.

But Chloe kept her arms spread wide, trembling. Looking at Chloe's body language, her gaze, and her innocence... Seth instantly realized that this woman in her twenties had the mental age of Dustin. She had special needs.

"Get your idiot face out of my sight, Chloe! This is none of your business!" Caleb snapped ruthlessly. He shoved his sister's shoulder without mercy, sending Chloe crashing onto the carpet.

"You're just a nuisance, you cripple. Sit over there!" Julian added, equally cruel.

Chloe looked down in terror, wringing the edge of her expensive dress while sobbing. "Grandpa... angry..."

Seth wrinkled his nose. Pure disgust and raw fury consumed his mind. His eyes are glaring at Caleb and Julian.

The system screen flashed brightly. Lines of blood-red text materialized in front of Seth's eyes, skinning the rot these two "perfect" cousins had hidden so deeply.

Seth's eyes rapidly scanned the red text. The next second, a low, raspy laugh dripping with murderous intent escaped his lips.

"Why isn't it connected yet?! Dammit."Whenever boredom set in while waiting, Chloe would curse, forcing Seth—who sat on the sofa reviewing work reports on his tablet—to look up."Be patient," Seth offered wise advice, even though his own mind grew just as restless as Chloe's.They returned to waiting in silence. But that could never last long, for Chloe could never stay calm while waiting. After fifteen minutes passed with zero signs, panic began to creep over Chloe."What if Uncle Gareth doesn't take the bait?" Chloe bit her thumbnail. "What if he doesn't copy it and hands the flash drive straight to the state? Our plan will shatter into pieces, Seth."Seth set his tablet down and looked at Chloe calmly. He felt restless waiting, but not anxious. "H

His eyes gleamed with absolute satisfaction."Good job, Bradford," Gareth praised as he tossed the flash drive to his personal assistant. "Copy that program to my private server right now."His assistant moved swiftly, plugging the device into the laptop Gareth usually used for work—strictly for light tasks such as typing or reviewing documents.Gareth himself paid little attention to the copying process. He lacked any deep understanding of IT, using laptops only for basic daily tasks."You planned all of this brilliantly, Mr. Olympus," Bradford praised, bowing slightly with a sycophantic smile. "That loser from Delizco practically wept in the lobby when I threatened him with treason charges. And Seth Corbyn? He handed over this program like an obedient dog. He offered zero resistance, completely meek and sweet."Gareth chuckled softly, picking up a cigar from his d

Wayne stood alone in the middle of the Delizco office lobby. He had given all the employees the day off, knowing a group of special guests would arrive today.Yet, cold sweat still drenched his back as he faced a squad of fully uniformed military officers stepping out of the elevator."Seth... where are you?" Wayne muttered, while slowly approaching the group of three officers."Good afternoon. You arrived early," Wayne greeted them with a polite smile, but the squad leader merely scowled in return."I did not arrive early. I planned to arrive exactly at this minute," the man snapped coldly."Mr..." Wayne squinted at the name tag pinned to the man's chest. "Mr. Bradford, could you wait just a little longer?"Wayne desperately tried to buy some time. He had contacted Seth ten minutes ago, but he had not yet appeared, and panic slowly gnawed at his defenses. The imposing presence of those military uniforms easily intimidated him."Did we not state clearly that we would come today after

Seth smirked and shook his head. "He is far too arrogant. He will undoubtedly copy it first. He considers your program incredibly powerful, to the point of causing all this commotion. There is zero chance he will just pass it up."Chloe bit her lip; the logic sounded sound."But the most important thing is, can you build it?" Seth asked. If Chloe could not, then the entire plan became useless."Of course! Are you underestimating my abilities?!" Chloe hissed. Despite her instability, she refused to be insulted.Seth smiled. "Good girl!""Do not call me that!" Chloe snapped. Her face was no longer pale; instead, it flushed a deep red."What? I was only praising you. Dustin always gets happy when I praise him with 'good boy'." Seth felt baffled. He didn't feel he had made a mistake that warranted being yelled at until her face turned that red."I am not Dustin!" Chloe yelled again, spinning her chair to face her computer."Okay... okay..." Seth had initially wanted to praise her to make

If we actually have to buy a cup to maintain this cover, I officially request a hazard pay increase."Seth let out a dry chuckle, crossing his arms and leaning back against the polished steel wall. "Drink it and build some character, Kael. Consider the terrible taste a fitting punishment for taking a whole week just to bring me to a dead end."Kael gasped loudly, placing a hand over his chest as if Seth had physically struck him. "A dead end? Boss, I worked absolute miracles just to get this frozen trail! Do you have any idea what I had to endure?""Enlighten me," Seth replied calmly, raising a single eyebrow.
