Raina sat alone with the case file and exhaled

She shut her eyes as Amy’s interrogation replayed in her head

There was lot of missing pieces to put together

Five days since John’s death

Five days since they had been on the case with no tangible lead

Work distracted her from her reality, it distracted her from her past and kept her mind in the present

It was yet another day to head home, but home was not home to Raina anymore, she had no one to return home to

A memory of the strange man that she had spent the night with in the hotel returned

That night with the stranger was peaceful, for the first time in months she slept without thinking about her late husband

Raina stood up from the chair, she shrugged on her jacket

She was done for the day

Detective Harris too had nothing on his end from the interrogation with commander Dane

Giving up was not an option for Raina, she only needed an evening reset for work tomorrow
