As Harry and Charlotte got home, stepping into the living room, Aria, who was watching a TV show, quickly stood up and walked to them with a smile.

“You're both welcome,” Aria said before turning fully to Charlotte. “How did it go?” She asked.

Charlotte sighed, her face unhappy as she took a seat. “Mom, everything got ruined. Didn't go as planned.”

Aria's smile faltered. “Ruined?” She frowned. “Did that fool show up?”

Charlotte looked up and nodded. “Yes, he did,” she replied.

Aria's frown disappeared and her face turned red with anger. “Again?” She snarled, her voice trembling in fury. “Didn't the chairman have him thrown out of the place for good? I mean he doesn't belong there! And he shouldn't be seen around there!”

Charlotte sighed, taking a deep breath, her face buried in her palms. “Anthony isn't the problem now, Mom. I don't really care whether he was there or not. The thing is Mr. Liam rejected ours but accepted someone else's—Sarah’s.”

Aria gasped in shock audibly, disbelie

He had decided to keep silent earlier to let Sarah have a little taste of her disobedience to him. But now…..Aubrey Blackwood, or whatever he called himself, had crossed the line. All eyes widened in shock and disbelief as they looked in the direction from which the voice came. Their eyes filled with disdain but pity for this young man who had dared to speak up. It seemed like he didn't know who Aubrey Blackwood was.“Oh, this poor thing is finally putting himself into something that wasn't made for him,” Charlotte's face held a hint of contempt as she murmured.Harry scoffed. “No one really knows about his existence so it's not bad if he joins her and together, they'll both exist in the world.” He replied coldly.Aubrey Blackwood's hand paused midair, a hint of surprise but disgust ran through his eyes as he turned around to look at the young man.He laughed, putting down his gun. Before he could even make a word, Anthony continued, his voice rang out again, firm but with a threat.

Sarah, knowing herself, gasped audibly. Her eyes widened, stunned. Aubrey Blackwood was the leader of the underworld people and a high killer, who terrified the people in town.He only does that when he's being paid to. And mentioning her name meant just one thing: someone had paid him to kill her because that was the only possible way he could have known her name. But who could that person be? Sarah's legs started vibrating, her mind racing with no inkling of anyone around in mind. The realization that Sarah wasn't the person responsible for Aubrey Blackwood being here dawned on everyone. They had accused him wrongly, and they were sorry but it was too late to even utter a word of apology. As Aubrey Blackwood began to step closer with his three men at his back, waiting for an answer, a lady from the crowd, out of fear, bowed her head and pointed her finger toward Sarah.“That's her. She's Sarah, the person you are asking for,” she hurriedly spoke, her voice shaking with fear. She

Meanwhile, Charlotte sipped through her glass with a mischievous smirk. “She’s just out of the loop, thinking we're really here to celebrate with her. Such an innocent girl who doesn't know what's coming for her.” She said, her tone low but mocking.Harry laughed softly, but his eyes were dark as he pretended to be taking a mouthful from his glass. “By the time we finish with them, they'll know. She's not even worthy of working with Almighty Anthony's Empire. Once she's wiped off, Mr. Liam will have no choice but to see us as relevant.”He said in a low, wicked voice.Charlotte nodded, but replied in a sarcastic voice. “Let's not waste our time on that Anthony rubbish now. His life is worse than useless already. Let's focus on Sarah now and deal with him later. She's the thing blocking our success.” Saying that, she retrieved her phone and typed a message. Her: ‘Hi, it's taking much more than expected. Where are you now?’ Her finger hovered over the screen before finally hitting th

Sarah glared at her, sensing a slight genuineness in her voice, but she disagreed. “No, I don't want you two here,” she snapped. “You humiliated me in front of everyone then and now? You want me to believe you mean well for me?” She shook her head vehemently. “Just leave, please, and now.” She said, pointing toward the exit door. Charlotte sighed, still wearing her fake smile that seemed genuine. “Sarah, we're sorry for everything. We didn't mean to do that,” her apologetic voice came through, sounding believable. Anthony, standing without saying anything all this while, finally supported Charlotte. “We’ve realized our mistakes now. We overreacted that day, and it was too bad of us. Please, forgive us.” He dramatically clasped his hands together, bowing slightly. “We apologize for treating or acting so badly toward you. We never meant any harm. Please, forgive us .” For the first time, Anthony stepped in, unimpressed. If he doesn't know Harry's agenda too well, he knows much a

At Springfield Hotel, the clinking of glasses, cheering in celebrations and the sound of heels from the crowd echoed softly, filling the air amidst the cool music playing in the background. Murmurings of joy were also obvious. In a corner, Sarah blinked, disbelief flashing through her narrowed eyes as she stared at Anthony. “You look more than handsome,” she exclaimed, genuinely. “The suit is a perfect match for you.”She decided to tease.“You haven't told me the kind of business you're into.” Anthony smiled gently at her. “Thank you for the compliment,” he replied. “And as for the business I'm into, you'll get to know about it soon.” He assured her, his voice clearly authentic.“I really need to know because you look fresher every day, just like a new baby.” “Haha,” Anthony chuckled softly, “stop it, Sarah. Besides, you aren't looking that bad. You look more than beautiful tonight.” Sarah blushed shyly. “Thank you for the compliment and also for everything,” she glanced around

“I'm sorry to disturb you, Anthony. I know you must be resting after the day's work,” Sarah's voice came through, sincerely sorry. “I just want to inform you that I have decided to throw a small party for this big win instead. What do you think?” She asked.“Oh, that's a perfect idea,” Anthony replied, his voice a hint of approval. “Your friends will get to celebrate with you at least and it will be fun. Just tell me the time.”“Exactly the same time. 9 p.m.” “Alright, I'll be there.” The call ended, and Anthony dropped his phone on the bed, grabbed a remote control on the nearby table, and turned on the TV to keep his eyes awake.Meanwhile, Sarah stood outside the balcony that night, her grip tightened harmlessly around her phone. She couldn't help but stare at it with a wide smile lingering on her lips after she finished her discussion with Anthony.“He's such a good person,” she said to herself, genuinely happy to have met with Anthony. She felt her stomach twisting as if in respo
