Just as the call ended, Anthony stared at his phone in disbelief. He didn't know whether to scream or not—a very popular and rich family claiming that he was their son.

Who is he to decline when he had always dreamed of this kind of life, but had never imagined it was coming too quickly?

As he pondered above everything again and again, he buzzed up and began to ring again; it was the same number. So, he didn't hesitate to pick it up.

“Hello, Anthony; I've contacted him, and they are eagerly waiting to have you so the operation can begin,” Samantha said right after the call connected.

Anthony was still skeptical. “How am I sure you aren't lying here?” He asked. “Almighty Anthony's Empire is a powerful company, and you know how they can just kick me out if I go there.”

“Don't fear anything. Nothing will happen to you; take my word!” Samantha said with so much firmness.

However, Anthony shook his head unbeknownst to her, mumbling, “I'm not going. You want them to kill me.”

Samantha pressed on, “You haven't sent your account details yet? Don't worry anyway; I'll send you every bit of details of mine to start using—the login details and PIN will be provided. All you have to do is go to the Play Store and d******d ‘Venmo’ and then log in with the details, okay?”

Anthony thought Samantha, who claimed to be his mother, was just dropping empty promises, and as a result,, he gave a casual reply, “Okay.”

“And please, don't forget to visit the company today, everyone will be waiting for you,” Samantha said before hanging up.

Anthony let out a bitter chuckle, “They think I'm a child that they can easily use my head? Funny! I'm going nowhere. I—”

Just then, his phone buzzed in his hand for an incoming notification, trailing words from his mouth.

Anthony's heart raced instantly, and he glanced at it.

Galp! His eyes widened in bewilderment when he saw the message on his screen. It was a message from the same number, having the following details boldly written.

“Dear son, this is the details. Everything in it all belongs to you; spend it as you wish, but spend wisely.

Name: Samantha Lawrence

Password: Samantha11209

Transfer pin: 0009.”

Anthony let his gaze linger on the message, reading it repeatedly. He doubted if this was real.

But there was no harm in trying, so he quickly borrowed data on his line and downloaded ‘Venmo’ from the Play Store instantly.

His mind was a whirlwind of thoughts; he was doing everything really quickly.

Opening the app after downloading, Anthony's fingers trembled as he began to type in the details into his phone. After typing, he rested his fingers, watching it as it loaded.

A message written in red popped up on his screen. “Incorrect password! Click here to reset your password.”

A deep frown etched on his face. “I said it; this is a scam!” He said with gritted teeth before scrutinizing the password carefully.

“Oh, I made a mistake somewhere.” He slapped his forehead softly, realizing he typed 0 in place of 9 for the login password.

He quickly erased it and put down the correct one, but his heart began to beat faster as he watched it load again.

Just then, the app fully loaded, and a sleek white background dashboard popped up. On the dashboard, a big blue button to enable one to send and request money showed up visibly.

Anthony's eyes fell on the wallet balance, showing the Venmo current balance, and his body shivered. What! How! Is this for real? No, it can't be!

Anthony's hand flew to his mouth, trying hard not to shout as he saw the balance boldly written: $900,000,000.

He couldn't believe it. “Is this a dream or what? Nine hundred million dollars? No, this can't be real!” He quickly refreshed the dashboard with a shaking finger in disbelief.

However, as it loaded, it popped out the same figure. Nine! “This is real! Anthony, it isn't a dream! It's fucking real!” His mind raced.

Closing the app, he quickly put a call through, and it didn't take long as it connected immediately. “Hello, son, has it worked? Did you see the amount there?”

“Yes, I-I have seen—” Anthony's voice cracked, not knowing how to construct the words.

Samantha chuckled when she heard his stuttering voice, “Don’t worry, son. Everything you're seeing there belongs to you. Just get yourself whatever you want, and in case you want anything, just reach out to us. We're your parents.”

“H—how can….thank you, Mom. I can't believe all this is really happening. I'm happy.”

“I know how it feels, but don't worry. Mom and Dad love you. And please, don't forget to visit our company today. Take good care of it, alright?”

Anthony tried to steady his voice, “Alright.” He nodded.

“And one more thing, you can create your personal Venmo account and shift the money to it if you feel it's not safe there.”

Anthony nodded, understanding his mother wanted him to have his. “Okay. But how can I do that?”

“A YouTube tutorial video can help. Just type in the right keywords.”

“Alright, thank you so much, Mom.” Anthony moved his head up and down in response.

“There's no problem. Goodbye, and please, take good care of yourself. Mom loves you.” The call ended, and Anthony rushed to the app again.

Seeing the money sitting heavily in the wallet, his breath caught as he began emotionally, “How—how did it happen…” he asked himself, pondering heavily about the whole situation. “I have a father and a mother after years of being alone. And even nine hundred million dollars in my wallet when I thought all hope was gone.”

He shook his head, tears streaming down his face. And for a moment, he seemed to be carried away by his emotions.

When he finally jerked out of his thoughts, the image of Charlotte and her mother flashed through his mind. “Charlotte…you and your wicked mother will pay dearly for this day.” He said, his expression darkening. “For playing with my emotions, more especially.”

Then he reluctantly wiped his eyes roughly, letting a small smile creep onto his face, “I'm somebody now. I'm rich and I have rich parents. My identity will never be revealed to anyone.”

Pocketing his phone, his gaze fell on the cheque that Charlotte had given to him and that he had shamelessly received with the hope of starting life afresh.

He glared at it, a mix of anger and irritation laced on his face. “I don't need you anymore!” He said, slowly tearing the check into tiny pieces and then throwing it to the ground angrily.

He trampled his feet on it angrily. “Fuck them all! I'm the heir of Almighty Anthony's Empire now. They want to work with us now, don't they? Let them come close and see!”

With that, he glanced around and realized he was still in Harold's compound. Sighing exasperatedly, he took off on his heels and approached the gate.

“Hey, you just messed up the whole place. Go get that cleaned up before Miss Charlotte sees it!” The gate guard shouted at Anthony, refusing to open the gate for him.

Anthony shot him a deadly gaze and pushed him out of the way, shouting, “Fuck you and your nonsense Miss Charlotte!” He stomped out of the place.

As he stood by the roadside, he saw a cab approaching and he flagged it down. Entering, he said firmly, “To Almighty Anthony's Empire right away.”

Anthony couldn't respond. He only gave a small nod, his face pale.Georgina continued, her tone carrying a hint of disgust. “Is that how she is? Telling lies? I mean, does she have to lie to you? Why didn't she just tell the truth, that she was going out to dine with her boyfriend? You wouldn't have stopped her.”Her intention in saying that was to fuel Anthony's aggression toward Sarah. He wanted him to be more hostile and furious at her so that he would only have time for her—Georgina—and not Sarah.Pausing briefly, she continued, “She was only trying to act like she had wanted to let you know just because she was caught red-handed, or else she wouldn't have even mentioned it to you.”She didn't stop. She went on uttering words that were disgusting about Sarah, condemning her single act with only one intention—to flare Anthony's anger toward Sarah.Anthony was numb, listening to every one of her words.“She isn't trustworthy. People like her are like snakes in green grass. They can

Her face grew pale. “I shouldn't have lied to him,” she cried. “I should have just told him the truth. Now, what was the essence of lying when he had caught me?” Her eyes rolled around the place, a tear clearly seen in her eyes. After a while of almost sitting on the ground, Sarah stood up, her composure straight. She wiped the tear that was almost dropping from her eyes and with that, she turned around, walking back inside. Meanwhile, inside the restaurant, Benjamin had already sat back on his seat, his elbow on the table, his hand supporting his chin.He was thinking about what had just transpired; however, his mind wasn't on anything else except Georgina. She had slapped him right in front of Anthony. She defended him and even warned him not to talk to Anthony the way he had done.“Wasn't this the same Georgina who offered to assist me? What then is she doing with that bastard?” He wondered loudly in his heart. Strange. A hum escaped his lips.He shifted slightly on his seat befo

Sarah also froze at the sight of Anthony. How? How could he be here? She whispered, completely astonished. Her eyes widened. She opened her mouth, but a coherent response couldn't come out. “An…. Anthony, you?” She stammered.Anthony’s eyes flicked from Sarah to Benjamin and he stared at him for a moment longer. Then, they flipped back to Sarah, his eyes filled with quiet intensity. He walked closer. “Sarah,” he called out, still as if he was dreaming. “What are you doing here? With him?” He gestured toward Benjamin. “Didn't you say you were at home taking a rest?” Sarah stood there, iced at a spot. Her mouth went dry of words, a heavy weight of guilt descending on her. “It—it's not what you think, Anthony. There's —”Anthony cut her off, his voice cold. “What else do you want to say? Lie to me again?” He said, completely annoyed. “I called to check on you to know how you were doing and you told me you were resting at home,” he paused, then added. “So, this is the house, right?” “

Georgina's eyes darted toward Anthony, “Him? No, no….” She quickly shook her head, trying to deny, but then completed it, “Yes, I mean, he had given me a lift before.” She lied. Reluctantly, she asked Anthony, “You? You seem to know him. Have you guys met before?” Anthony nodded. “Yes.”Benjamin cut in, but didn't reveal the truth. Instead, he put up a face, trying to act surprised. “Georgina,” he called out, “What are you doing with him? I…is he your boyfriend?” Georgina had told him that Anthony wasn't Sarah's boyfriend, yet she was with him. Something seems odd, rightly not in place. Georgina frowned, but masked it with a faint smile. “No, Anthony is my friend.”Benjamin scorned, disgust plastered on his face. “A friend? To you?” An amused laugh escaped his lips. “You mean there's no well-to-do looking guy out there that you can make friends with except this….”He looked from Anthony's head down to his toes. “This pathetic loser?” Georgina's face became a shade of red, her fur

She studied him for a brief moment before smiling faintly. Reluctantly she asked, “You don't okay, sir. Please, is there anything we can do to help?” She asked with concern in her voice as she took the card. She wanted to know what was making Benjamin annoyed. “Is it about our service? If there are any issues, please feel free to let us know,” she continued, raising her eyebrows at Benjamin.Benjamin's face contorted with anger. It was ten minutes past ten. “Could he be sleeping?” She asked herself again and paused for a moment before starting again. “But it's not that late, doesn't he have something that might be keeping him busy?”Saying that, she dialed his number for the second time.Meanwhile, back inside the main hall of the restaurant, at Anthony's table, they were still eating when Georgina slowly paused, casually leaned in, and took her phone.
