"Can you repeat... what you said?" Trevor asked, stammering not in fear, but in restrained rage.

"I said she is married, or getting married to Frederick Dunn today, and the wedding is being held at the End Star Hotel. Forget about her, she's not worthy of your thoughts. I'm happy you're here already."

It felt like lightning struck Trevor as he stood completely still.

He couldn't believe that not only had Anne left him coldly when he was sentenced to three years in prison, she had also made his sister's life miserable, lied to both of them, and then ended up with the very man who had caused all of this to him!

"My hard work and reputation were ruined by you, my sister crippled and my fiancée also taken by you. If I don't take something from you then my years in prison were wasted!"

Trevor's voice was so calm as he said those words that it was almost frightening.

Seeing this, Diana regretted talking and immediately stretched her hands out to grab hold of his trousers.

"Big brother, please calm down okay? The Dunn family are very rich and influential. You will land yourself in prison or a worse situation if you go looking for their trouble again."

"Without you, I will suffer."

"Do you want to see me suffer, brother?"

Hearing his sister's words, Trevor couldn't help but feel a pang of pain as his eyes softened.

"Silly you, who said anything about wanting to see you suffer? I just wanna avenge you, okay?"

"No, I don't want vengeance. Let's live peacefully." Diana vehemently shook her head, her eyes red, while still holding tightly to his trousers as if afraid he would vanish the moment she let go.

Seeing her like that, Trevor was helpless as he smiled and said, "Okay, okay. Calm down. I wouldn't run. Although I really am stronger than before."

"Humph! No matter how strong you are, you can't be stronger than a bullet." Diana muttered.

After a while of standing still and trying to comfort her, Trevor finally said, "Okay, although I wouldn't go visit them, can you let me go? I will just go somewhere. If I don't come back, then don't ever trust my words again."

Saying so, Trevor immediately slipped out of her grasp and stepped out of the room. The moment he was outside, his eyes turned cold. He walked towards the road filled with potholes and hailed a taxi.

"Centre city, End Star Hotel. I will tip you 100 dollars extra if you can get there within 15 minutes." Trevor said calmly.

Hearing of the extra tip, the driver, as if he had once participated in a Tokyo street race, immediately stepped on the gas and zoomed off.

Meanwhile, unknown to him or anyone else, a simple plain-looking car was parked under the shade of a tree.

From inside, a girl observed him leaving and couldn't help but sigh softly with anger.

"Seriously? Is this the man grandpa wants me to marry? He looks reckless!"

"He not only ran away and stayed in prison willingly, but did it when our family needed help the most. And now grandpa is sending a nobody to be my husband?"

The beautiful lady's sharp features were full of resentment as she spoke.

After grumbling, she started the car and closely followed the taxi ahead of her.

Meanwhile, unknown to her, someone was also trailing her.

Inside a sharp-looking modified Honda Accord with tinted glasses sat a young man around the same age as her. He had a cold, arrogant expression as he watched her car pull away with a thoughtful look on his face.

"Strange. Why does she come to a neighbourhood like this? And I heard this isn't the first time she has come here."

The young man's name was Fraser MacLeod, and he was one of the many suitors eyeing Veronica Winchester or more specifically, the Winchester assets.

Unlike the other suitors, he was already an early stage Iron Body Realm martial artist. This made him appear to be nothing short of a genius in the mortal world. His future seemed limitless, and his lifespan would only increase the stronger he became.

"Why does Veronica come here every day? And why does she visit that crippled young girl? Are they related? Why was she trailing the man that left that house? Did something happen?" He muttered as his sharp eyebrows furrowed.

Knowing he couldn't get those answers by sitting there and thinking, he stepped on the accelerator and sped away, following closely behind Veronica's car.

---

Screech!

The taxi came to a halt as Trevor calmly stepped out. Looking up at the End Star Hotel, it was decorated with lights and festoons. The environment felt very lively, and there were lots of neatly dressed guests walking in.

Outside, a huge screen displayed a photo of Anne and Frederick Dunn together in their wedding clothes, smiling happily as they held each other.

Looking at it, Trevor felt nothing but disgust toward Anne.

How ironic. The woman I was once obsessed with is now with another man. And worse, that man is my enemy.

Thinking so, Trevor calmly began walking toward the venue.

As soon as he reached the entrance of the hotel, he was stopped.

"You? What are you doing here? This isn't a place for a man like you, woman beater." Anne's younger brother, who was responsible for receiving guests, immediately spotted him and blocked his path with an arrogant look on his face.

"Scram." Trevor didn't even spare the boy a glance as he spoke, calmly continuing to walk.

Seeing that he was being ignored, Andrew's eyes filled with fury as he reached out to grab Trevor by the collar.

"Who do you think you are? Today is my sister's big day and I will not allow a wretch like you to ruin it. If you don't want to suffer the same fate as your sister, then scram!"

Trevor moved like lightning. His palm shot out and pressed firmly against Andrew's lower back for less than a second. A faint pulse of energy surged into his spine.

In order not to make Andrew suspicious of the hidden strike, he quickly followed up with a punch straight to his chest.

Andrew didn't even see it clearly. All he felt was the blow to his chest, and the pain was severe.

It sent him flying backwards as he crashed into several chairs. The impact was anything but light, as his internal organs churned as if injured, and he nearly passed out from the pain.

But it wasn't over yet. Trevor calmly walked over and grabbed him by the head, slamming it into the floor again and again.

With each repeated slam, a cut opened on Andrew's forehead as blood began to pour out.

"This is just a greeting from me. I have a surprise for you that you will receive any moment from today."

Saying so, Trevor let go of Andrew and walked straight into the hotel, ignoring the shocked expressions of every watcher around him.

And although he had not yet succeeded in making her formally acknowledge him, his carefully maintained image and a few well-placed words had caused people to subconsciously begin regarding the two of them as a pair. But now, the woman he wanted was being held by the waist provocatively by another man. How could he possibly bear it?Even the watching crowd couldn't help but shake their heads and murmur among themselves."Heh. A nobody dares to go toe to toe with Young Master Han over Veronica?""He must be tired of living, or the little power he picked up in prison has made him think he is stronger than everyone.""Truly as they say. A toad can only dream of eating a swan but can never actually do it."Meanwhile, Patriarch Patrick Dunn felt his eyes light up watching the scene unfold. Since Young Master H

After this was over he would definitely find out more about this so called Veronica Winchester. Wait.Suddenly Trevor remembered that the old man from the prison shared the same last name."Do you happen to know an old man currently in prison who bears the same name as you?" Trevor couldn't help but ask out of curiosity."That's my grandfather." Veronica answered calmly, carefully hiding her anger at the mere mention of the main reason she had ended up in this situation in the first place.Hearing her reply, Trevor felt as though the fog clouding his mind had been instantly cleared. He clearly remembered that while still in prison, the old man had told him that the only way to repay him for all the training was to take care of and

Seeing this scene, Andrew with his bleeding nose and his sister watched with mouths curled into smiles. They couldn't wait to watch the show. They firmly believed that after the beating and being thrown out in a humiliating fashion with one or two broken bones, Trevor would finally realise he was no longer worthy of facing them. But the panic they expected to see on Trevor's face never surfaced. Instead, he looked at them calmly and asked, "Frederick... did you make my sister jump off a building and permanently paralyze her legs?"Hearing the question, Frederick Dunn couldn't help but sneer. "Your sister? What does she have to do with me? And who are you to question me? So what if I did? You should instead be grateful that someone from a wealthy family even took the slightest interest in your sister.""I didn't even make her jump. She did it on her own will, all because of her selfishness about sharing what she owned."Hearing his words, Trevor's expression didn't change, but his eyes

  • Chapter 6: Andrew's Traumatic Moment

To most, Trevor had only beaten Andrew physically. Unknown to them, he had also targeted the spine with a precise, concealed energy strike. It damages the spinal cord and surrounding meridians at a microscopic, internal level without breaking any bones or leaving external marks. The damage is purely energy-based, so normal hospitals and scans would show nothing conclusive — maybe vague "nerve inflammation" at best. This attack was brutal for a normal mortal. Sporadically, one would feel immense pain as if their flesh were being fried from the inside, which would also cause temporary paralysis. This attack was truly brutal, but for someone as cruel as Andrew, it was perfect — a fitting way to make him live with regret for the rest of his days.---Meanwhile, inside the hotel, the wedding was reaching its critical point."Do you, Frederick, take Anne to be your lawfully wedded wife, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better or for worse, for richer or for poorer, in sicknes

"It's your karma," Van said mockingly as the other prisoners were serving him by massaging and clipping his nails. "Only a crazy woman would date an abuser like you? You are nothing now. You have lost your job, would spend some years here, then might have no future after getting released. If I were her, I will also run away from trash like you."Trevor couldn't stand the mockery. How ironic to hear that from a crazy recidivist like him! He should look into a mirror."Why are you looking at me like that? Are you offended?" Van laughed again at him.'Don't look for another trouble, Trevor. You just need to ignore it!'There was such thought in his head, but he could barely hear it. He was truly fed up with this injustice. He was frustrated. He didn't understand why all of this had happened to him.And now, why should he do this? Why did he have to be with these bastards and obey them as a lackey? Why did he have to massage the feet of murderers, thieves, and drug dealers like them?He d
