Adele’s cheeks burned. She could feel the eyes, the subtle stares, the quiet smirks from the crowd drifting toward them — the humiliation slicing its way under her skin.
Krazy’s tone cut through the air, chilled and sharp. “Mind your business. What does our invitation have to do with you?” Damon stepped forward with that familiar mockery in his eyes. “Our business? This is our event, loser. We were invited. You weren’t. Leave before I call security.” Krazy shifted his head slightly, bored. “Make me.” Lizzy tugged Damon’s arm with a sigh. “Honey, let’s go. Don’t waste time arguing with people who fantasize about stepping inside.” Damon’s glare narrowed on Krazy. “I’ll deal with you later.” A faint, unreadable smile touched Krazy’s lips. “And I’ll be here to see how far you get.” Damon stormed off, Lizzy lingering for one more strike. Her perfume floated as she leaned close to Adele. “Save yourself and our family the embarrassment,” she whispered. “My husband was invited. Yours wasn’t. Go home.” The hit landed deeper than expected. Adele swallowed hard. Lizzy always had everything — praise, perfection, the spotlight. Next to her, Adele suddenly felt unbearably small. Then Krazy extended his hand. “Give me your hand.” Adele jerked back. “Why should I?” “So we can go in.” She scoffed, “Go into where? Craig, stop this. You knew you couldn’t get in. You brought me here to embarrass me.” His stare stayed calm, almost steel. “If I wasn’t capable, we wouldn’t be standing here. Let’s go.” Adele glanced at her husband for a second. She couldn't tell what to believe or think.. But the determination in Krazy's eyes was telling her otherwise. They walked toward the checkpoint. Guards lined the entrance, scanning each invitation card with military precision. Hector stepped forward proudly and handed the guard his card. “Only the recognized enjoy this privilege,” he said, shooting a smug grin at Krazy. The scanner lit up. Beep! A harsh red flash. The crowd paused. The officer frowned, scanned again. Another red blink. “Invalid authorization.” Hector’s smile twitched. “Oh—maybe it needs my thumbprint. Try my left thumb." Beep. Invalid. “My right?” The officer snapped. “And after that fails, should we try your toes?” Before Hector could respond, two guards stepped up, rifles angled. “You’ve been banned from this event. Step aside, or we’ll remove you by force.” “What?!” Hector’s voice cracked as he swung desperately to Damon as if asking for help. He was there when those officers told his father they were invited, “You can’t be serious—” “Move,” the guard ordered. They gripped Hector’s arm. His face drained. Damon rushed forward. “Wait! There must be a mistake! He’s—” “Next.” Lizzy stepped up defensively. “Watch how you talk to my husband!” “Or what?” the guard replied coldly. “We follow orders. Banned individuals do not enter.” Hector's face twitched with disbelief. His brother-in-law was high-ranking — he expected him to do something immediately... but he seemed helpless as he was... inside that hall were men whose presence towered above his. And their orders overshadowed them. Damon on the other hand had a displeased look as he stared at the machine. He had never felt more disrespected, but he sighed, trying to control his anger. Trying to keep composed, Damon handed his own invitation over. He gently hands his card to the man, holding his wife and ready to get to the root of this once he gets inside. Beep. An even harsher red light. Lizzy gasped loudly. “Your family has been banned,” the guard said, voice clipped. “Use the side exit. Don’t make us use force.” Damon froze. “What?!” “Step aside, sir.” Guns lifted toward him. Damon’s breath shook. “You don’t know who I am! You have no right—!” Several rifles snapped toward his head. He staggered back.. His body turned cold with shock that the more he tried to speak, the heavier words became for him. Throughout his years in the military, he has always been regarded with respect. The colonels took the initiative to present five pennants to him yesterday.. How in the world is he getting this kind of painful disrespect? At the side, Krazy watched silently. While Damon scrambled to call superiors, Krazy turned to Adele again and extended his hand. “Shall we?” “Fuck off, Krazy! They’re still attending to us!” Damon barked. “If I can’t go in, there’s no way they’ll let you inside.” Krazy’s voice stayed level. “I know it hurts. But yelling doesn’t change the fact. You still have to step aside for people who aren’t banned.” The words burned worse than a slap. "How dare you, you poor loser! Hurry up and get out or I'll beat you to death!" Hector spat. Krazy didn’t flinch. “The difference between you and me… is I get to go in with my wife. You don’t. I won’t roll in the mud with you.” The guard glanced at him. Krazy handed his card. The machine scanned it. Beep— Green light. The guard straightened instantly. “Welcome, General.”Latest Chapter
Chapter 12
Craig was just a useless son-in-law in this house. His father had abandoned him in an orphanage. His mother had died because of him, and neither of his family wanted him.. Even Sophia loves him more. He's the one the Lancasters want for her. It’s enough reason for Adele to divorce this loser and for the Lancaster family to support their separation. “It’s beautiful, isn’t it? Would you like me to put it on for you?” Robin asked Adele, who appeared displeased. “This is too much. It must have cost a lot. I can’t accept this, please.” She placed the ring back into the box and handed it over to him.Robin shook his head, “There’s nothing too expensive as long as I spend it on you. Don’t reject my gift. There’s more from where that came from,” He grinned with pride.Adele sighed, “I’m a married woman.. I still have my ring on.. If I want to change it, I’m sure my husband will get me a new one,” She explained with a stern look. “It’s disrespectful to give a married woman such things.”Regar
Chapter 11
Soon, Craig's car was parked a few minutes from his in-laws house.“Keep an eye on her… I'm sure he'd come for her.. sooner or later..” He tells Ivan, his assistant. “Do your job as best as you can without making mine worse. One mistake, and you'll be sorry.”“Noted General,” Ivan replied, not daring to look his boss in the eye… The words sent chills down his spine, and it made him shiver. The General is not in a good mood and he can tell..Craig gently stepped out of his car. Lucas is nothing but a bitch! Of course that father of his will put himself first in every situation, even if it cost the life of his dear wife.. He might as well just get something else to fish him out, but for now, Eve is still valuable to him.. “You can run but you can't hide, Lucas,” He muttered, urging his bodyguard's to leave.“Yes, sir!” They replied with so much respect, while Craig turned and headed towards the house.Later that evening, Craig was done helping Sophia with her assignment when Adele wal
Chapter 10
Afternoon light spilled through the café windows in soft gold bands, catching on dust and steam. Penny was dressed in simply—a cream blouse, fitted jeans, and hair loosely curled. She looked fresh, unpolished in a pretty, effortless way. And Adele? She sat by the window, sipping her coffee as they chatted. Her dress was modest, pastel blue, long sleeves buttoned neatly at her wrists. Her posture is straight enough to draw respect but soft enough not to intimidate. She looked gentle—too gentle, like someone who practiced being gentle. A waiter dropped off two coffees. Steam curled between them like a veil. After sipping her coffee, Adele lifted her head, “...hmm, of course.. you mentioned Craig helped you yesterday?” Her voice stayed smooth, but her eyes sharpened by a fraction. “Who was he with at the bar?” She asked with a friendly smile. Penny’s throat tightened. Her mind flashed back to the man's hand holding her upright, her own reckless kiss before everything went black. She

Suddenly, her lips curved into a perfect smile, so suddenly it almost hurt to look at. “You’re up,” she said softly. Her tone was warm. Her eyes were not. “I was worried your breakfast would get cold.” Krazy blinked. “You’re cooking for me? This early?” She turned back to the board, slicing faster. “It’s your first day at Lancaster Corp. I thought you’d want to start the day right.” There was warmth in her voice, but it didn’t reach her eyes. When he stepped closer, she smiled again — but her hand was still clenching the knife very hard. “I appreciate it but you should be resting.” “Resting? Nonsense. You're my husband, so it's only right I cook for you,” Adele smiled, stirring the sliced peppers in the pot. At 7:30, the city buzzed with the weekday rush. Adele parked by the gates of Silver Academy, stepping out with Sophia’s hand in hers. “Mummy, why am I going to a new school?” The little girl asked her mum after the registration. “Because mummy wants the bes

“And who the hell are you..” Krazy moved in one fluid motion — a twist of the wrist, a sharp turn, and the man was on his knees, gasping for air, his arm locked behind him. The entire bar went quiet. Krazy’s tone never changed. “Walk away!” "AHH!" The man cried out. Without a second thought, he scrambled to his feet, clutching his wrist and muttering curses, disappearing into the dark corner of the bar. “You should go home.” He tells the lady. “I will. My car is parked outside after all…” The lady staggered as she rose to her feet and Krazy could smell her drunken state from where he stood, “Thank you.” She said with a grateful smile. He just nodded slightly, his eyes scanning her — not in the way men in bars usually did, but as if he was assessing her safety in her state. The lady took two steps forward, but the room tilted in slow motion and before she could take another step, she lost balance but a strong arm caught her around the waist. Craig steadied her effortle
Chapter 7
“What did he say?” Lizzy blinked, leaning forward. “Who?” He stared at the TV in disbelief. The screen showed Krazy standing from the Gold table, quiet, composed — buttoning his jacket as soldiers stood in salute. The applause thundered. Every officer in the hall stood in respect. And at home, Damon slumped onto the couch, his jaw tightening. “Impossible… that can't be! it should’ve been me! I was the one rewarded with the five Pennants!" His face turned ghostly white. Even Lizzy’s smile had vanished entirely. Bill’s jaw slackened. “What… what's going on?" Adele’s lips parted, her breath caught in her throat as she turned to him — Craig… General? The host gestured toward him from the stage, his tone almost reverent. “Sir, it is an honor to have you grace this hall tonight. The nation owes you more than words can express.” As Krazy walked through the aisle, soldiers and officers from every table rose to their feet. Applause thundered again — but this time, not out
