Suddenly, her lips curved into a perfect smile, so suddenly it almost hurt to look at.
“You’re up,” she said softly. Her tone was warm. Her eyes were not. “I was worried your breakfast would get cold.” Krazy blinked. “You’re cooking for me? This early?” She turned back to the board, slicing faster. “It’s your first day at Lancaster Corp. I thought you’d want to start the day right.” There was warmth in her voice, but it didn’t reach her eyes. When he stepped closer, she smiled again — but her hand was still clenching the knife very hard. “I appreciate it but you should be resting.” “Resting? Nonsense. You're my husband, so it's only right I cook for you,” Adele smiled, stirring the sliced peppers in the pot. At 7:30, the city buzzed with the weekday rush. Adele parked by the gates of Silver Academy, stepping out with Sophia’s hand in hers. “Mummy, why am I going to a new school?” The little girl asked her mum after the registration. “Because mummy wants the best for you,” Adele kissed her forehead and urged her to go into her classroom. Across the lot, a young woman was hurrying towards the school's entrance with a little boy. Her arms were full — bag, lunchbox, paperwork — and in her rush, she collided straight into Adele, who wasn't looking up. The papers scattered across the pavement. “Sorry… So sorry!” Penny gasped, “My fault, I wasn’t looking where I was going.” Adele exhaled slowly, brushing off her skirt. “It’s fine,” she said flatly — then bent to help pick up the fallen papers. She lifted one — an employee ID card — and her eyes lingered on the name. “Here,” she said, handing it over. But Penny had gone still. Her gaze lifted to Adele’s face… and her stomach dropped. The features. The smile. She.. she's the same woman from the framed wedding photo on the condo shelf. It's her, she can't be mistaken. She swallowed. Her voice came out barely above a whisper. “It’s you.” Adele raised a brow. “I’m sorry… Have we met before?” Penny blinked fast, forcing a smile. “No—no, we haven’t met. I just—uh—your husband, he… he helped me last night with some jerk at the bar.” Her words trembled. Adele’s brow arched ever so slightly, though her smile didn’t falter. “Oh my. I hope you’re all right. Craig has always been that kind of man.” She extended a manicured hand. “I’m Adele," Adele held Penny’s hand a moment too long. “It’s lovely to meet you...it's truly a small world. I suppose he's your child?” She asked, glaring at the young boy. Penny hesitated. “I’m Penny and no, he's my nephew.” She could have sworn she'd never seen this woman in the school premises before. She shook her head. It's probably a coincidence. Adele’s grip lingered a little too long. “It’s lovely to meet you, Penny. And I see…” she handed the ID back, “you work for the Lancasters.” Penny reached for it and tucked it into her bag, cheeks flushed. “Yes. Tomorrow is actually my first day.” Adele’s smile is sharpened, polite but glacial. “Then I suppose you and Craig will be seeing more of each other.” “Huh?” Penny froze. “My husband,” Adele said, tone smooth as glass. “He works at Lancaster Group.” Penny's heart sank, and her throat tightened. Her body turned cold and as much as she tried to hide her unease, she couldn't.. Before she could respond, her phone buzzed violently. She glanced at the screen — relief flashing across her face. “Um, I have to go,” she muttered, stepping back. “Wait.” Adele’s voice was soft, disarming. “Maybe we could grab coffee sometime?” “Oh, I don’t think—” “I mean if you have the time.” Adele tilted her head, smiling unwaveringly. “I’m free this afternoon.” Penny hesitated. Something about the woman’s eyes made her heart race. “Please?” Adele added, her voice honeyed, patient… but with an undertone Penny couldn’t quite name. "A little something for knocking me out? Don't say no..." Penny stared at her for second, fighting the urge to stand on her word and not give in to her pleading tone… but she guess she was helpless in situations like this. She exhaled sharply, already regretting it. “Alright.” Adele’s smile widened, slow and triumphant. “Wonderful.” Meanwhile, Eve, who was on a call froze the moment she stepped into her study. In front of her, sat a man sat with his legs crossed, posture casual, as though the room belonged to him. Her shock lasted barely a second. Then she smirked. “I knew you were alive, Craig. Guess today is my lucky day.” She grinned victoriously. It’s a shame she had wasted her money celebrating his death. Krazy didn’t return the smile. He simply kept his eyes glued to her like nothing changed.. His crawls still at the sight of this woman. “I didn’t come for you. Where is your husband? He’s first on my list.” Most people dreaded hunting their prey. Eve preferred when the prey walked through her door. Oh, how much she prayed for days like this! “Well, since you asked nicely…” She turned toward the entrance, pressed a button and when she heard the click of the lock sliding shut, she let out a satisfied smile. Then she slowly faced him again. “You and I are stuck here,” Krazy said. “So start talking. Where is the man who tortured me and had my mother killed?” Eve stepped forward, amused. “Missing daddy already? Children with daddy issues always—” “Shut up!” His voice cracked the air like a whip. “If I ask again, you’ll be sorry. Where is Lucas?” Her smirk deepened. Eve chuckled, crossed her legs over the same table as Krazy as if she was in control. Without a second thought, she tapped on the red button on her desk then footsteps were heard and suddenly, the door swung open. Seeing this, Krazy was certain that it was an emergency button. Footsteps thundered. The door burst open. About twenty-five men stormed inside, causing Eve to lean to her seat with a smug face, “Take him to the dungeon. Beat him to death if you must. Find out what he already knows and finish him off,” She ordered. Krazy didn’t even flinch. Eve leaned back, smug. “Take him to the dungeon. Beat him to death if you must. Find out what he knows. Then finish him off.” Four men moved toward them. One grabbed Eve’s wrist. She jerked back, furious. “Are you nuts? I said torture this bas—” A strip of tape sealed over her mouth mid-sentence. Her eyes flew wide. Krazy stood over her, smiling for the first time. A quiet, unsettling smile. “Mmm? Mmm!” she screamed against the tape as her own men pinned her to the floor. “Who’s in control now?” Krazy laughed — a low, humorless sound that made her chest tighten with panic. She stared up at him, trying to understand how he’d flipped her own security team so easily. “Mmm!” She twisted, but the rope around her wrists bit into her skin. Once her legs were tied, the largest guard searched her pockets and handed her phone to Krazy. Meanwhile, Lucas West was in the middle of a meeting when his phone buzzed. A photo appeared. Eve — bound like an animal, terror in her eyes. His blood ran cold. Before he could process it, his phone started ringing. “This meeting is over,” he muttered, already walking out as he accepted the call. “Hello, Lucas. Long time no father-and-son talk.” Hearing Craig's voice on his wife's phone gave him a full understanding of what was going on Lucas stopped breathing. “Craig?” “Guess the devil got bored and sent me back for you.” “You always had your mother’s flair for drama. Shame she didn’t live long enough to see what a disappointment you turned into.” Lucas’s voice shook with rage. “If you hurt my wife, I swear—” Craig didn’t raise his tone. “I believe you have something I want. And I have something you want.” He angled the gun toward Eve’s ribs. “Lucas!” Her muffled scream tore through the line. Lucas’s stomach dropped. Hearing Eve's voice in the background, only made Lucas even more anxious and restless. Without hesitating, he softened his tone, “Son.. wait.. please don't do anything you'll regret. She's your step mom." “I only have one mother whom you killed years ago. You've once lost a mistress. Don't blame me if you lose your wife today.” Lucas' heart sank, "Wait. Perhaps we can work something out." "I am giving you the opportunity to work something out. Bring yourself to me, and she might just live.” “Let's talk about this, son. Don't act rational.” Lucas pleaded. He couldn't possibly show his face in South River. His enemies want him dead. Going to South River is like asking to be killed in seconds! Right now he's caught in the middle of saving his wife or saving his life. "No. The time for talking passed, Lucas. Here's what we are going to do. I'm going to shoot your wife through the right rib cage. Just grazing the lower quadrant of her right lung. It will slowly collapse, making it difficult for her to breathe. And if she doesn't get medical attention in less than an hour she'll be dead.” Craig's gaze was fixed on Eve and his index finger on the trigger. “Son, Craig. Please!” Shoot! “Ahhh!” Eve screamed so painfully, that her blood gushed profusely. “Evelyn!!!” Lucas shouted on the other end as a tear fell from his left eye. His ears felt numb at the gunshot and his body trembled with fear. He saw his life flashing across his face. What kind of a monster has Krazy become? His heart raced so fast, it felt his body vibrating like he was going to pass out soon. "Second hand spinning, Lucas. Looks like you have a little decision to make.” With that, Krazy dropped the call.Latest Chapter

Craig was just a useless son-in-law in this house. His father had abandoned him in an orphanage. His mother had died because of him, and neither of his family wanted him.. Even Sophia loves him more. He's the one the Lancasters want for her. It’s enough reason for Adele to divorce this loser and for the Lancaster family to support their separation. “It’s beautiful, isn’t it? Would you like me to put it on for you?” Robin asked Adele, who appeared displeased. “This is too much. It must have cost a lot. I can’t accept this, please.” She placed the ring back into the box and handed it over to him.Robin shook his head, “There’s nothing too expensive as long as I spend it on you. Don’t reject my gift. There’s more from where that came from,” He grinned with pride.Adele sighed, “I’m a married woman.. I still have my ring on.. If I want to change it, I’m sure my husband will get me a new one,” She explained with a stern look. “It’s disrespectful to give a married woman such things.”Regar
Chapter 11
Soon, Craig's car was parked a few minutes from his in-laws house.“Keep an eye on her… I'm sure he'd come for her.. sooner or later..” He tells Ivan, his assistant. “Do your job as best as you can without making mine worse. One mistake, and you'll be sorry.”“Noted General,” Ivan replied, not daring to look his boss in the eye… The words sent chills down his spine, and it made him shiver. The General is not in a good mood and he can tell..Craig gently stepped out of his car. Lucas is nothing but a bitch! Of course that father of his will put himself first in every situation, even if it cost the life of his dear wife.. He might as well just get something else to fish him out, but for now, Eve is still valuable to him.. “You can run but you can't hide, Lucas,” He muttered, urging his bodyguard's to leave.“Yes, sir!” They replied with so much respect, while Craig turned and headed towards the house.Later that evening, Craig was done helping Sophia with her assignment when Adele wal
Chapter 10
Afternoon light spilled through the café windows in soft gold bands, catching on dust and steam. Penny was dressed in simply—a cream blouse, fitted jeans, and hair loosely curled. She looked fresh, unpolished in a pretty, effortless way. And Adele? She sat by the window, sipping her coffee as they chatted. Her dress was modest, pastel blue, long sleeves buttoned neatly at her wrists. Her posture is straight enough to draw respect but soft enough not to intimidate. She looked gentle—too gentle, like someone who practiced being gentle. A waiter dropped off two coffees. Steam curled between them like a veil. After sipping her coffee, Adele lifted her head, “...hmm, of course.. you mentioned Craig helped you yesterday?” Her voice stayed smooth, but her eyes sharpened by a fraction. “Who was he with at the bar?” She asked with a friendly smile. Penny’s throat tightened. Her mind flashed back to the man's hand holding her upright, her own reckless kiss before everything went black. She

“And who the hell are you..” Krazy moved in one fluid motion — a twist of the wrist, a sharp turn, and the man was on his knees, gasping for air, his arm locked behind him. The entire bar went quiet. Krazy’s tone never changed. “Walk away!” "AHH!" The man cried out. Without a second thought, he scrambled to his feet, clutching his wrist and muttering curses, disappearing into the dark corner of the bar. “You should go home.” He tells the lady. “I will. My car is parked outside after all…” The lady staggered as she rose to her feet and Krazy could smell her drunken state from where he stood, “Thank you.” She said with a grateful smile. He just nodded slightly, his eyes scanning her — not in the way men in bars usually did, but as if he was assessing her safety in her state. The lady took two steps forward, but the room tilted in slow motion and before she could take another step, she lost balance but a strong arm caught her around the waist. Craig steadied her effortle
Chapter 7
“What did he say?” Lizzy blinked, leaning forward. “Who?” He stared at the TV in disbelief. The screen showed Krazy standing from the Gold table, quiet, composed — buttoning his jacket as soldiers stood in salute. The applause thundered. Every officer in the hall stood in respect. And at home, Damon slumped onto the couch, his jaw tightening. “Impossible… that can't be! it should’ve been me! I was the one rewarded with the five Pennants!" His face turned ghostly white. Even Lizzy’s smile had vanished entirely. Bill’s jaw slackened. “What… what's going on?" Adele’s lips parted, her breath caught in her throat as she turned to him — Craig… General? The host gestured toward him from the stage, his tone almost reverent. “Sir, it is an honor to have you grace this hall tonight. The nation owes you more than words can express.” As Krazy walked through the aisle, soldiers and officers from every table rose to their feet. Applause thundered again — but this time, not out
