The old warehouse district looked nothing like Gabriel remembered.He stood on the corner of Madison and Carpenter, hands in his pockets, staring at what used to be his home. The abandoned building where he had slept for years was gone. The new Hale Industries building climbed toward the sky.Gabriel stood in his mobile office, a converted shipping container with windows cut into the sides, and watched steel beams slot into place thirty stories up.
