They reached a grand metallic door as Mr. Oscar pushed it open.

Peter couldn’t believe his eyes. All this space for just one person? In his previous home, the room alone could fit their living room, kitchen, and his own bedroom combined, and there would still be space left for a toilet.

He was utterly shocked and didn’t know whether to embrace this fortune or deny it. But one thing was certain: he could never go back to his previous life. The miserable, worthless trash everybody knew had to die after tonight.

"This is your room, Young Master. Feel free to explore. If you need anything, please don’t hesitate to let me or any of the staff know. This is now your home," Oscar said before pulling out a wrapped item from his pocket. He unwrapped it and handed it to Peter.

"Here," he said. "This is a rare four crown black card. It contains twenty million dollars as your monthly allowance. And you no longer have to stay in the school dormitory. We will arrange convoys to drop you off and pick you up from school every day. It’s time to make a statement."

"Wait, twenty million what?" Peter screamed. In all his life, he had never heard anyone mention such a huge amount of money, let alone hand it to him. The shock was so evident that his voice began to tremble.

"Are you kidding me right now?" he asked.

"No, Master. I am not," Oscar replied. "I believe everything I’ve showed you is evidence enough for you to believe me."

Peter collected the card and cleared his throat. He looked at it closely, his fingers tracing every detail. He had no idea it was a Four Crown Black Card—the highest and rarest black card in the world. Anyone who carried it was considered a highly influential person. Only a few existed, and it was rare to even see one in ordinary stores unless it was a top luxury house.

"Twenty million dollars, just like that?" Peter asked.

"You deserve it, Master. After living in the slums for over twenty-one years, you deserve far more," Oscar said. "I’ll leave you to rest now. Explore the house as much as you want. Your personal maids will soon be assigned to you in few minutes, just press the button beside your bed to call them anytime. Goodnight, Young Master." Oscar smiled and turned to leave.

"Uhm… Mr. Oscar," Peter called at the last minute.

"Oscar is fine, Master," he replied.

"About the convoy and making a statement… not yet," Peter said.

"But why?, You’ve been bullied for years now. It’s time to take revenge on everyone who once looked down on you," Oscar said.

"I know, Oscar, but I want to do it on my own terms. I won’t be coming back to the mansion every day. I prefer staying at the dormitory for now. And you don’t have to worry about my... father," Peter said.

Those words still sounded strange and new to his ears, but he continued anyway. Things had really changed for him, the sooner he accepted it, the better. "I’ll tell him I requested these wishes myself."

"Understood, Young Master," Oscar bowed. "If that is what you wish. But I can’t promise anything. You will always be under close watch. Anyone who tries to harm you will be dealt with accordingly." Oscar shut the door behind him, leaving Peter alone with his thoughts.

Peter stood still for a few seconds, taking in the room Oscar had called his. He still couldn’t believe it. Someone as poor as him now owned a room almost the size of an entire family house. He remembered last semester, begging for money to settle his tuition debt. He remembered saving for months just to afford a decent date with Sophia. He remembered being spat on, beaten, and treated like trash simply because he was an orphan with no future.

Even a church rat had lived better than him. He had survived from hand to mouth, studying while caring for both his grandmother and his girlfriend, only for her to stab him in the back like he was some worthless garbage. And truthfully, he used to be. But not anymore.

Peter took a deep breath, the pleasant scent of the room settled around him as he flopped onto the massive bed, staring at the fourteen-foot-high decorated ceiling. The joy of wealth slowly beginning to fill inside of him.

He pulled out his phone, intending to call his friends Tom and Owen. But after a moment’s thought, he decided not to call them. Although the three had promised never to keep secrets from each other, but this was bigger than anything he had ever faced. He needed time to process this overnight transformation before sharing it with anyone.

He checked the time, it was already midnight. He wouldn’t make it back to the dormitory at this hour, so it was best to spend the night at the mansion and head back to school first thing in the morning. His friends would surely check on him at the hospital, and if they didn’t find him, they would start worrying.

He was slowly beginning to accept this new fate, admiring every expensive detail around him, when his phone rang.

His heart skipped a beat when he saw it was his grandmother calling. He thought about ignoring it, but he hadn’t spoken to her in a while, so he picked it up.

"Hello?... Peter?" the fragile voice of the old lady came through.

"Hello, Grandma," Peter replied, trying not to sound too different.

"How are you, son?" she asked, noticing the unusual excitement in his tone.

"I’m good, Grandma. Why are you calling?"

"Can’t I check up on my own grandson anymore?" she teased, earning a slight laugh from Peter.

"Of course you can, Grandma," Peter said. "I’m just a bit overwhelmed right now, that’s why I asked."

"Anything you want to share with Granny?" she asked gently.

"No, no," Peter flinched. "Uhm… I mean, not at the moment. But I’ll tell you soon enough, trust me."

"Okay… if you say so," she responded before dropping the news. "The landlord said I have to pack out before the end of next week. He says he’s selling the house to a potential buyer."

"What?" Peter barked. "But I already paid the rent for this month."

"He says it’s not enough. I tried begging, but the man has no sympathy, not even for a poor old lady," his grandmother, whose name was May, said.

If it were the old Peter, news like this would have felt like a death threat. But now, things were no longer the same, twenty million dollars each month was no joke. The landlord who had always bullied and threatened them because he felt superior, was about to face a very different version of him.

"Don’t worry about it, Grandma. I’ll take care of it," he said, his voice full of assurance.

"Thank you, son, I believe in you. Always take care of yourself, okay?" she replied.

They exchanged a few more kind words before ending the call.

Peter took a deep breath, set his phone down, and stepped into the bathroom to freshen up for a well-deserved rest. Surprisingly, he could no longer feel any pain in his body, it was as if the revelation of wealth had made it all disappear. There really was something about money that no one could deny.

In the quiet mansion library, Oscar’s silhouette could be seen as he dialed a number on his phone and placed it to his ear. He spoke softly, as if he didn’t want anyone listening.

"Hello?... It’s done. He’s here already."

"It's really you. What on earth are you doing here?" Evelyn asked, looking deeply irritated the moment she saw him. Evelyn Campbell was Peter’s former classmate from high school. She used to look down on him because he couldn’t afford even the most basic things back then. One time, before their graduation, Peter had gathered the courage to ask her out. She laughed so hard in his face, finding the idea completely ridiculous. In her own words, she had once told him: "You must be more stupid than I thought, Peter. Being poor really makes you delusional, huh? Craving things you know are way out of your league. Aha..." "Do you think I’m one of those low class girls who will ride with you through good and bad times? In sickness and in health? Fuck no!" "I’m very expensive. If you want to date me, then you need to be very rich."Now, fate had brought them face to face again, except a lot had changed in the past seventy-two hours. "Evelyn... so nice to meet you," Peter said with a genu

  • Chapter 008 ~ Show Time

Peter was sprawled loosely on his soft, massive bed, snoring loudly like a cow while enjoying his sleep. He had slept past his usual bedtime without even realizing it. In a few seconds, his phone began to ring. He stretched his hand lazily and grabbed it without checking who the caller was. He placed it to his ear, but the urgent voice on the other end jolted him fully awake. "Peter!..." the voice screamed. "Bruh, where the hell are you?" "Owen?" he replied, recognizing the voice. "What’s going on?" "I’ve been looking everywhere for you. Are you alright?" Owen panted, sounding relieved after six attempted missed calls. "Uhm… yes, I am," Peter replied after a yawn. "It’s 11:31 a.m, bruh, and you’re not here? We’re already done with the first lectures and the rest were cancelled. Miss Wales called in sick so we're free for the day. Are you sure we shouldn’t be worried?" Peter swallowed hard, rubbing his eyes. It suddenly clicked in his head. He opened his eyes wide and pee

  • Chapter 006 ~ Overnight Wealth

The chief guard, dressed in a perfectly tailored suit and black shades, signaled to Peter with a wave. He didn’t need to be told who they had come to pick, he already knew. They had been monitoring him for quite a while. It was only recently that they discovered he was actually the second missing child of Thomas Graham, whom they had been searching for years. Thomas Graham was a billionaire business mogul who dominated the luxury fashion industry. Together with his wife Margaret and their children, they owned one of the world’s most exclusive luxury houses—a brand so prestigious that even owning one of their handbags was considered a symbol of ultimate power and status. Peter walked slowly toward the parked vehicles, still in shock. It was the first time he had ever laid eyes on a Ferrari 488 Spider. He opened his mouth, closed it, opened it again, then finally gathered the courage to speak. "Is this a dream?" he asked the chief guard, staring him in the eye. "I'm not hallucin

  • Chapter 005 ~ You Are Now Rich!

"Hello, Sir?" the voice called softly. "I believe I am speaking with Peter Graham?" Peter frowned, trying to remember if he was missing something. He was Peter, but Graham? Certainly not him. These scammers were getting more creative by the day. Too bad... the guy couldn’t even get his name right. He scoffed, already knowing how these things went. "I'm sorry, wrong number." He ended the call and sighed heavily, still thinking about his miserable life when the same number called for the tenth time. "What the heck is wrong with this person?" he muttered in complete annoyance. "I am not Peter Graham." He picked up the call to explain one last time to this weirdo before blocking the number. "Please stop calling me or I'll block and report your number. I am not—" "Please hear me out, Sir," the voice cut in before he could end the call. "You're Peter Lawson. You study business at Primeton University. You're twenty-one years old and live with your grandmother. You're currently

Peter was lying on the hospital mattress when he suddenly began to flinch. He opened his eyes weakly, and everything around him appeared in blurry stripes. 'Where am i?' 'What happened to me?' 'How did I end up here?' Those were the questions running through his mind. He finally regained a bit of consciousness and tried to sit up, rubbing his hands on the back of his neck to ease the sharp ache. "He's awake!" "Bruh? Are you okay?" "Peter, talk to us. How are you?" Peter turned around and saw his two best friends surrounding him like a patient who had just undergone brain surgery. "Tom?... Owen?" he called out softly, staring them in the eyes. Relief washed over him the moment he set his eyes on them. At least he hadn’t lost his friends because of love, they were still a few people who actually cared about him. He wasn’t alone in this cruel world after all, because he still had his buddies by his side. "What... happened?" Peter asked skeptically as little fragm
