006: Restless Tuesday

The second day of my hunt was quite the thrill. I don't know if it was because of my luck or curiosity as an old player but having encountered the mutated purple boar this early was beyond my expectations more so this persistent colleen bagworm.

{Colleen Bagworm: An idiom word, meaning; A woman who keeps on pestering a single person.}

"S-Say, how did you kill it with a single strike?" She asked, showing a curious expression on her face.

I stopped walking and slowly pushed back her face, "Would you please stop for a sec?"

"O-Ohh, you're quite attractive there~" She said, her cheeks almost immediately turning scarlet.

"Do Russians speak with this much directness?" I spoke just as I abruptly took my arms back.

"Ehh? how do you know that I'm Russian?" She asked, taken aback.

"Just a guess." Though I know that she was a foreign girl since she used English quite a lot.

I continued my hunt of blue leaf boar after battling with the mutated purple boar from earlier. "Hm, having an azure knife as a weapon was sure convenient," I mumbled.

"A single strike once again?" She asked.

I was a little shocked after hearing that woman's voice once again, "So she followed me all the way here.." I mumbled.

My phone rang three times as I was about to go further into the forest, alerting me to the fact that it was already 3:30 PM.

It was an alarm that I set, in case I continued to venture much deeper down the forest without knowing what the time was. After all, this was now a reality and had a family at home that awaits for my arrival.

[3:40 PM, Tuesday], [LOCATION: Makiling Forest]

I took my time checking the loot in my inventory as I was walking defenselessly, "Hm, this was quite a lot of coins compared to my first hunt." I mumbled.

"Watch out!" The girl who was following me from behind suddenly pushed me away while I immediately took the azure knife from inventory and positioned my body in a defensive stance.

"That's why I told ya to be patient!" Two unidentified individuals showed up whilst one of them suddenly attacked me without hesitation or should I say that what he did was the best option since attacking someone who has yet to know the situation was a good strategy is what he thought. 

"Drake, watch out!" 

"Too late." I dashed to the sides just as he was about to enter my range and used the trick of putting my left foot deeply to the ground to acquire momentum and swiftly attack him at exactly his abdomen.

"N-No, Drake! You sneakily bastard!" The man who was blabbering his mouth the entire event finally took his move while pointing his knife toward me.

I dodged his incoming knife attack while doing a 360-degree kick at the same moment that flawlessly landed on his face and caused him to quickly lose unconscious. "Pointing a knife while rushing.. Are you an amateur?"

"H-How dare you!" The man who had been struck by me in his abdomen suddenly moved and was about to strike me from behind while I who had known it coming from the start killed him by striking my knife upward that quickly pierced through his soft chin.

"Those who had already been defeated shall lie down, you know?" I spoke in an intimidating tone.

Just a few seconds passed, and I felt dizzy and was about to throw up. If I didn't notice that the Russian girl was present, I would never suppress myself from vomiting.

"A-Are you okay?" She asked whilst her body was shaking from what she had witnessed. Well, I can't blame her since I killed a human being in front of her. But it can't be helped, if I didn't do that, I would be the one lying on the ground.

I sat down and responded to her question "Yes, and sorry for letting you witness such a scene." 

"Ah no, I-Uhh kind of know why you did it." She said, stuttering.

I quickly changed the topic by asking what was her name to ease the tension that was causing her from being wary of me. 

"I-I am Sasha, and you?" She asked.

I stood up and spoke, "Theodore. That's my given name."

"Um, what a good name." 

After our introduction, we continued to go back to the entrance and arrived at exactly 5:00 PM.

Sasha stopped and spoke, "Hm, Theodore. Before we part ways, can I ask something again?"

"You may."

"Are you single?" She asked whilst looking at my naked eye intensively.

"Y-Yes?" I stuttered.

"I see, that's good enough. Ohh, if you're still worried about me, then worry not. Having seen it much earlier than later was better." She said, smiling.

"I'm not even worried anymore since you would face it much often in the future." I mumbled.

And that's how we part ways.

[7:30 PM, Tuesday], [LOCATION: Our House]

Just as I was about to enter the house, my little sister suddenly approached me whilst her sweat flowed slowly through her face."Hm?" 

"B-Brother, mother hasn't come back till now!" She said, stuttering.

"Wait here!" I hurriedly went to the place where dad used to work and just arrived after 20 minutes of running without taking any break.

"Mom, are you here?" I opened the main door and saw my mother on the corner with the others being held up while a man probably in his forties sitting on the chair spouting up curse words. "Do you really want us to force all of you to pay up? Uhh? who's this young boy?"

I felt enraged all of a sudden while my body began to move on its own, taking the azure knife on my inventory and ran toward the man who appeared to be the thugs' leader.

"W-What are you guys doing? get that kid!" The four guys who were behind the one who was sitting on the chair stood to the front and is readying themselves from my advancing assault. 

Just a few moments, the four guys who tried to stop me suddenly fell to the ground one by one whilst I was about to kill their leader.

My azure knife was an inch closer to his neck when I suddenly heard mom's voice calling for my name, "Theodore!" 

"M-Mom?" I turned around and saw my mother helplessly trying to break free from her shackles while her face was showing a worried expression, and that is when I decided to stop.

"Did I go too far?" I mumbled.

I went to my mother and immediately untied her. "Theodore.." She muttered. 

"I-I'm sorry mum." 

She gave me a warmth hug while patting my back, "It's not your fault, Theodore." 

At that point, I understood that the only people who could stop you from going crazy were your dearest family. They will be the ones to make you feel so relieved that you will almost immediately and helplessly put your head on their shoulders while forgetting everything around you.
