1. Party

The building in the center of Manhattan stands majestically on a large plot of land. The wedding anniversary party that Osvaldo's extended family was celebrating was going on very quietly. Family members from all walks of life were here. The economic level was the center of everyone's attention.

There was a couple who went up to the altar and wished Osvaldo's elders a happy birthday. The gift didn't look small and people's expressions were very dismissive of it.

They were Andrew Steward and Floryn Osvaldo. Yes, three years ago Andrew had married Floryn in the most insulting of weddings for the family. No parties in the most luxurious hotels. No grand building like the one owned by the Osvaldo family.

But in retrospect, Floryn had never questioned her life with Andrew at all. She was well aware of the Steward family's economic situation.

Andrew rented an apartment to live in with Floryn. Everyone had underestimated what Andrew had. The reason was, when he chose to marry Floryn-who was Osvaldo's extended family. They immediately gave Andrew a disgusted glance.

He only had one rickety car that he used everywhere. While in Floryn's private home, the woman always drove a luxury car with a price above one million dollars. Of course, Floryn was the son of a successful businessman in Manhattan.

The gift was also given by Floryn. Not from Andrew.

"Look who's here?" asked Osvaldo's elders who were laughing at him.

Meanwhile, Floryn used to fight for Andrew so that they could get married. Now he was trying to defend Andrew. The man didn't want any defense here. He was used to hearing insults from his wife's family.

The marriage was approved because Floryn's father thought that Andrew was very responsible. Now, it was Floryn's grandfather who was against it.

Jack arrived and handed a gift to Floryn's grandfather. "How are you, Father?"

The man named Jack was Andrew's father-in-law. The one who had always supported his marriage to Floryn. The man distracted everyone's eyes with his gift. "I'm well."

The man immediately embraced the elder Osvaldo and laughed as he raised his champagne glass. "Let's drink!" laughed Jack.

Floryn's smile broadened at Jack's arrival and instantly made the atmosphere lively. People forgot about the couple's presence. Floryn also got a glass of champagne for Andrew.

Other people also thought that Andrew was very frivolous. Not giving anything fancy to Floryn's extended family.

Floryn's grandparents' sixtieth wedding. Everyone applauded as a luxurious crown with perfect carvings was placed on Mrs Osvaldo's head.

Floryn, on the other hand, cheered when she saw them kissing.

Floryn's happiness was everything to Andrew. He was also forced to go to his wife's residence to attend the sixtieth wedding anniversary.

Although it was hard for him to attend, he still came to see his wife's smile.

Other family members also began to arrive. Floryn touched Andrew's hand. "Are you okay my husband?"

Andrew had no problem. It's just that if someone underestimates him again. Andrew would take offense to this family. His love was too great, he had to step over a high wall to get Floryn's love. But once he got her love. Andrew thought that he wouldn't have any more misfortunes.

But, it's only after marriage that things get even more annoying.

As the ball started, Floryn looked at him intensely. "You have to stay my husband! I can't possibly leave this place before the show is over."

His smile grew as he heard the words coming out of his wife's mouth. Andrew couldn't say much after getting seduced by Floryn.

During his marriage to this woman, he had never heard Floryn complain about money. His wife was good at being grateful and always provided for his needs. They ate simply, living in a cramped apartment. But his wife loved it.

After the dance party, there was a big family talk. There was also his cousin Floryn who came along with the extended family. Andrew's extended family should also be here. However, he deliberately did not tell his parents because he did not like it when his parents were insulted.

Floryn was chatting with her parents. Especially Jack who kept trying to make Floryn stay by Andrew's side. The strength of that man's love was always strong for Floryn. It was only natural that she was by Andrew's side all the time.

While waiting, Andrew looked at his watch. He had to work tonight to meet the high cost of living.

"You're her husband, Floryn?" came Poppy, laughing at him. This woman was a bigwig in one of the companies owned by Floryn's extended family. The woman who always looked down on Floryn for marrying Andrew.

The extended family always tried to insult Andrew. "There's really no shame in showing up here. You should have waited outside, it's not appropriate to see a poor family like you here."

Hearing that, Andrew tried to get out of the way. He didn't like arguments. He and Floryn were clearly trying to avoid this. His female cousin was very mean-spirited.

Grandpa Osvaldo came and tapped Andrew on the shoulder. The man laughed and then brought another stranger to stand in front of Andrew. "This will be her husband, Floryn. Just take care of your divorce from my grandson. He is the one who will buy Floryn a fifty-million-dollar house in Manhattan. You won't be able to give that to Floryn." Grandpa Osvaldo looked serious about what he was saying.

Jack, on the other hand, couldn't say much when Grandpa Osvaldo said something like that.

Andrew stood in the middle of a family that always insulted him. He was a man who kept trying to stand by his wife's side. Floryn shook her head from afar, signalling Andrew not to give up so easily.

He loved the right woman. But the wall that stood between them was very high indeed.

It wasn't easy to just do everything. Andrew's view of his wife was very strong indeed. Hearing the words coming out of Osvaldo's extended family's mouth was painful.

When the two of them returned home. They arrived in front of the apartment tower where they lived. Andrew raised his head. "How does it feel to go to the supermarket every day to buy groceries and then cook alone. Then we live in that building upstairs?" Andrew pointed.

Floryn touched Andrew's hand that pointed towards their room. "Don't keep saying things like that. I'm willing to grow old with you."

If only he had a fortune. He would pay for the mouths of all the members of this woman's family because during their marriage, not a single person had been kind to Andrew. "You have to keep your spirits up, Andrew. I want to have children one day."

Andrew didn't dare discuss children. He had to think of all the living expenses for the child that would be born from Floryn's womb.
