REBORN AS A HYBRID

THE UNKNOWN SAVIOR ( TWO)

The group was still giving John a hug except Nick,  uncle Ben and the rest of the men.

The hug had lasted for an awkwardly long time and Nick couldn't help but roll his eyes.

" Aaugh alright his fine you can let him go." Said Nick.

" I am happy to see you fine, but I must say it's like a miracle happened here, do you know who or what killed all of these beasts?" Uncle Benson asked. At this point, the group had stopped hugging John and they were looking at him with questioning eyes, waiting for his answer.

" Unm no, I don't remember a thing. I just woke up here with everything like this and the only thing I could remember was that I was being attacked by an Advance tier shadow dog." John lied. And because of this, Cassian shook his head. 

' You can't hide who you are forever, you know,' he said.

' I know what i'm doing.' John replied.

" Aah, I see." Uncle Benson said as he went over to one of the corpses of the shadow dog and started examining its body.

" How did you all find me?" John asked, trying to relieve himself from the awkward feeling he got from telling lies.

" There is a trail of the bodies of dead demons outside, leading to this cave." Nick replied.

" Whatever or whoever did this must be an expert fighter. Most of the bodies are still intact and it looked as if they were killed with one clean strike straight to the crystal core. " Uncle Benson said as he took a look inside one of the wounds found on the dog's body.

" It seems like it took away the crystals as well. " When Uncle Ben said this, John looked at Cassian with questioning eyes.

' What? I thought the crystals would be important, so I kept them in your storage space.' Cassian said.

' What do you mean by my storage space?' John asked, feeling confused.

' You still have a lot to learn. Your  storage space is an ability that enables you to store any non living object away and retain it at will.' Cassian replied.

" Whatever this is and whatever it's motive is, you have it to thank because it saved your life John." Said Uncle Ben.

" Sure," John replied.

" Now I think I won't let you guys go on another hunting mission, until you update your weapons and armors. Today you were lucky, but tomorrow you might not. Let's go." Uncle Benson said as he took his leave.

The hunting group had gone back to the bounty hall and collected their reward. Even though they weren't the ones who cleared the shadow dogs, at least they got lucky someone did it for them.

John had taken his two gold coins as his own share of the bounty and he had a very huge smile on his face.

'If I could kill all  those beasts by myself, including a king tier beast, then I could make a lot of money as a bounty hunter and selling a king tier crystal would be at least twenty five gold coins.' John thought to himself.

John's smile faded away when he thought of the innocent man behind bars. 

' But first I will have to expose the real criminal. And tomorrow I will do that.'

At home, John's dad was having a conversation with his mum, then John stepped in.

" Hey John, how was school today son? You guys closed quite late." His father said.

" Yeah we had to study hard for our upcoming exams." John lied.

' You are quite a skillful liar ' Cassian teased.

' We are one person, remember?' Replied John.

" Son, I made dinner for you, go freshen up." John's pretty mum said.

John hurried to his room and the first thing he did was to retain all the crystals in his storage space and to his surprise, there were over a hundred of them.

The king tier crystal was the largest and it was clearer than all the other crystals. The higher the tier of the crystal, the more transparent it was.

' So many crystals, if I sell all of them, I would not get less than five hundred gold coins.' John smiled as this thought crossed his mind.

He quickly placed back the crystals in his storage space and hopped into his bathroom.

Later that night, John was eating with his parents, then he started thinking of how he would sell the king tier crystal in his storage space, and other advanced tier crystals, not forgetting the basic tier crystals. He wished he could just break the news to his parents that they won't have to worry about money anymore. 

" Mum, do you believe in miracles?" John asked his mother.

" Yes I believe in miracles, you are a miracle." Replied John's mum as she wondered Where the question was coming from.

"  Can I know why you asked that question?" She asked.

" What if I told you that soon we won't have to worry about money anymore?" John asked.

" That would be great, but also it would need a miracle for that to happen, don't you think?" Replied John's mum.

" I found another part time job in the city that pays well enough." John said.

" May I know more?" John's father asked.

" I consulted Mr Benson about how I need a part time job and he decided that since he lives alone, I can come from time to time and clean his house and every week I would be paid six gold coins." John lied.

' There goes another lie.' Said Cassian.

" Wow, that is so huge. Oh Mr Benson, my old time friend. How is he doing?" Asked John's Father.

" He is doing great." John replied.

Everyone was really in a bright mood that evening, but it was interrupted when a bloody scream was heard outside, then what filled was the sound of a strange beast. The was that of a girl and John could swear that he recognized the voice.

"Stay here, Let me check," John's Father said as he grabbed his flashed light, and stepped out.
