REBORN AS A HYBRID

THE UNKNOWN SAVIOR

John's uncle was scared to the roots when he received a call that something bad had happened to a Novice hunter in the forest while hunting, which he then discovered that it was John. 

As one of the officers who were responsible for such emergency cases and also as the uncle of John, he picked up his magic weapon and left his house, stepped in his car and headed straight to the location of the forest.

He was already feeling guilty and he didn't know what he would tell John's father if something happened to his only son. So he had to try his best to avoid any tragedy as much as possible.

This thought made him hit the gas pedal harder.

The speed in which Mr. Benson had driven to reach the location of the call had finally paid off, as he arrived after a few minutes only.

When he arrived, he saw a bunch of Amateur hunters, around the age of John and also other members from the locality standing in a little gathering.  

The hunters looked exhausted as though they had been running for a while.

When the gathering noticed his presence, they quickly rushed to him and explained everything that happened.

" Hmm.. how long has it been?" Mr Benson asked.

" It has been over an hour sir. We had to run out of the forest till we arrived at this place where we could get a cell phone." Replied Nick.

" Hmm this is bad. Let's pray that by some miracle, he is still alive." Mr Benson said.

He was then led into the forest by the novice hunters and he was also accompanied by a group of strong men from the locality.

' Wake up!' 

" Huh? Who said that? wait, what am I doing here?" John woke up and saw himself in a cave, surrounded by dead demons ranging from basic tier right up to a king tier demonic beast.

The bodies were so many and John had never seen before so many dead beasts in one place.

" What happened here,  who was killed and how am I still alive? The last thing I remember is that advanced tier shadow wolf attacking me." John asked himself.

' That is because you are not human '

A voice said.

" Who are you, are you in my head?" John asked as he looked around to see if anyone was around.

' I am Cassian and yes I am in your head, as a matter of fact am your soul.' Replied the voice.

When Cassian called his name, John remembered the dream he had a few nights ago.

" I had a dream some few nights ago and I heard the name Cassian, but I still can't understand the dream." Said John.

'That wasn't a dream, it was a memory recall.' Replied Cassian.

" What do you mean?" Asked John.

' You were the one who did all those things you recalled. I am the past and you are the future.' Cassian explained.

Everything Cassian explained only made John more confused. For all he knew was that he was born to human parents, which makes him human. Now a strange voice in his head from nowhere is telling him he had a past life where he was the son of a Wolf and a Vampire. What a crazy story.

' I can hear you, you know. It is not a crazy story, except you want to call the story of your life crazy.' Said Cassian.

" What? Can you read my thoughts too?' John asked in his mind.

' Yes, remember I told you I am your soul, which means we are all one person, your thoughts cannot be hidden from me.' Cassian explained.

' If you say you are from my past life, then I have a lot of questions for you,but first I would like to see how I looked in my past life' said John.

When John said this, Cassian appeared in front of him, but he looked more like a hologram. His body had a blue color and he was almost completely transparent as John could see the other side through him.

But that wasn't what was bothering John.

" You are a kid?" John asked as he looked down with confusion written on his face. Why was he looking at a little boy with white hair? And moreover, he looks like a younger version of him.

" Yes, I died as a kid, remember?" Cassian replied.

" But your voice sounds like that of an adult." Said John.

" That is because I made it that way." Cassian spoke and this time his voice sounded like that of a kid.

" Please keep your voice this way, I prefer it like that." Said John.

" Are you the one who killed these beasts? I heard your voice before I went unconscious." Asked John.

" You did that, and you are capable of doing more." Cassian replied.

" Like I said before, you are not human, you are a new being on your own. You are a Hybrid of a wolf and a Vampire but you also have human blood cells in your DNA and that is what makes you unique.

When I was alive, I couldn't move freely under the sun, but you can, that is one of the reasons you are special."

You have all the properties of a wolf except that you can't fully transform into a wolf and same goes for vampires, you have all the properties of a vampire, but the sun doesn't affect you.  

The combination of your DNA has given you great strength and advantage and what you did here is just a drop in the ocean." Cassian explained.

" That is a lot of information." Said John.

" If you say the dream I had was a memory, do you mind explaining it to me?" John asked.

When John said this, Cassian stretched out his hand and touched John's hand, then he asked John to close his eyes.

When John closed his eyes, Images started flashing in his head like a movie being forwarded. John opened his eyes and they were glowing. He had anger written on his face.

" The Journey had been so rough, now we must right the wrong. There are other hybrids out there being killed. We must put an end to this and avenge our parent's death." John said.

" Now that's what I mean." Cassian replied with a very big smile on his face.

"John, is that you?" 

John heard his uncle's voice calling at the entrance of the cave.

" Oh! Thank God you are okay kiddo." His uncle stepped in and many other people stepped in too, including his hunting group.

" John?," Charlotte, one of John's group members, was the first to run and wrapped her hands around John, with her head on John's chest. 

" Thank God you are alive." She said as tears rolled down her closed eyes.

The rest of the group couldn't help but give John a hug as his uncle watched with tears of joy.

John looked to his left and he noticed Cassian was still standing there. 

' What are you doing there? Come on, hide yourself!' John said.

' Don't worry they cannot see or hear me.' Cassian replied.
