Kaspar Eldridge snapped his eyes open, his chest heaving. His fingers clawed at the polished teak tabletop. The IV lines were gone, as were the burn scars on his arms. Most importantly, his ribs—shattered years ago by Cedric De Marly’s bodyguards—were completely intact, free of even the faintest ache.

"Are you listening to me, Kaspar?"

A sharp, frigid female voice dragged Kaspar’s focus back to reality.

Across the table sat Beatrice Delacroix, her legs crossed with elegant poise. The tight red silk dress hugged her curves flawlessly, exposing porcelain shoulders Kaspar had once idolized. Now, her brown eyes held nothing but naked disgust.

Standing behind her chair was a young man in a tailored gray suit. He swirled a glass of champagne, casually twirling the silver signet ring on his pinky with a subtle, condescending smirk. Cedric De Marly.

"Stop wasting my time," Beatrice continued, sliding a thick stack of documents across the marble table. "The twenty million dollars your family invested in the Delacroix project is gone. This contract states that you surrender all remaining patent rights to your father's medical technology to settle your family's debt to me."

Kaspar stared at the document, then down at his hands.

Ten years ago.

Today was October 14th—the day Beatrice publicly dumped him at Marly Cafe, seized his late father's final patent, and trapped him in a fraudulent debt that left him begging in the streets. In his past life, Kaspar had wept and pleaded in front of every customer in this cafe, only to be beaten bloody by Cedric’s guards and tossed into the gutter like a mangy dog.

"Kaspar?" Beatrice tapped her red-manicured nails against the marble. "Did you suddenly go mute? Or is your broke brain incapable of processing legal terms?"

Cedric chuckled softly behind her, stepping forward to heavy-handedly pat Kaspar's shoulder. "Give him a break, Beatrice. How could a bankrupt Eldridge ever handle seeing more than a thousand dollars at once? How much do you need for bus fare home, Kaspar? Fifty bucks? I can throw it on the floor for you."

Kaspar didn't answer. A chill rushed up his spine—not from fear, but from a ravenous hunger for revenge burning through his chest.

Suddenly, a crisp, mechanical voice echoed exclusively inside his head, cutting through the ambient noise of the cafe:

[Destiny Synthesis Detected.]

[God-Level Capital System successfully bound to User: Kaspar Eldridge.]

[Passive Cash Flow set: +$100 / second (Permanently Active).]

[Starting Balance Collected: $10,000,000 (Legalized via Swiss Shadow Banking Network).]

[First Daily Mission: Purchase Marly Cafe in cash within 5 minutes.]

[Mission Reward: Physique Enhancement Pill (Tier 1) & 'Divine Charm' feature.]

A pale blue holographic screen floated directly in front of Kaspar’s vision. The digits of his balance flickered briefly before climbing at a steady tick:

$10,000,100...

$10,000,200...

$10,000,300...

Kaspar let out a slow breath. The dazed look in his eyes dissolved into pure, absolute calm.

"What are you smiling at, trash?" Beatrice’s brows furrowed, offended by a composure that defied her expectations. "Sign the paper right now, or Cedric will make sure your family's name is blacklisted from every business registry in this city!"

Kaspar raised his hand slowly. Instead of reaching for the pen, he lifted a finger and snapped it sharply.

Snap.

A middle-aged man wearing a heavy black suit and a name tag reading Pierre - General Manager hurried over. His face was lined with impatient annoyance the moment he locked eyes on Kaspar.

"Is there a problem, Mr. De Marly?" Pierre asked Cedric directly, treating Kaspar like a splash of mud on his expensive carpet.

"This pauper is ruining the view, Pierre," Cedric said casually, sipping his champagne. "He’s been nursing free water for an hour without ordering a thing. Could you throw him out?"

"Of course, Mr. De Marly. My apologies for the inconvenience." Pierre turned to Kaspar, his voice dripping with venom. "Young man, move it. This area is reserved for VIP members and high society. Don't force me to call security to drag you out."

Beatrice crossed her arms, leaning back with her chin tilted high, waiting for the moment Kaspar would panic and beg for her mercy.

Kaspar reached into his cheap jeans pocket and pulled out a low-end smartphone with a cracked screen. He launched the encrypted banking app that had just materialized on the device. The display showed a hidden corporate account registered to Eldridge Apex Corp.

Current balance: $10,000,800.

Kaspar looked up at Pierre. "What’s the appraised value of this building and Marly Cafe’s franchise licenses?"

Pierre let out a mocking laugh, shaking his head. "Are you out of your mind? This three-story building in the heart of the financial district belongs to the Laurent Real Estate Group. The unit and the operational rights are worth 4.5 million dollars! Why? Planning to wash dishes here for a thousand years to pay for it?"

Cedric and Beatrice burst out laughing together, her tone grating against Kaspar’s ears.

Kaspar didn't bother responding. His fingers moved fluidly across the shattered screen. Leveraging the System interface integrated directly with his thoughts, he routed a direct transfer to the Laurent Real Estate Group holding account listed on the cafe's digital menu.

[System: Confirming Capital Transaction.]

[Transfer of $5,000,000 successfully dispatched.]

[100% Acquisition of Marly Cafe Real Estate & Franchise Assets complete. Full ownership transferred to User.]

The moment the transaction finalized, the phone inside Pierre’s jacket pocket chimed wildly with an emergency ringtone.

Pierre offered Cedric an apologetic nod before answering. "Hello, Mr. Laurent? Is there something I—"

"Pierre! Are you at the cafe right now?!" The voice on the line sounded panicked and out of breath, loud enough for Cedric to catch every word.

"Yes, sir. I’m currently dealing with a broke nuisance in—"

"Shut your mouth, you idiot!" the building owner roared through the speaker. "A cash transfer of 5 million dollars just hit our main holding account! Someone bought the entire building, the land, and the Marly Cafe license outright—no negotiations! The deal was legally finalized ten seconds ago!"

Pierre’s eyes went wide, his grip slackening. "W-what? Who’s the buyer, sir?"

"Your new boss is Kaspar Eldridge! He holds absolute veto power over all operations and personnel effective immediately! Don't step out of line, or his legal team will annihilate us all!"

The phone nearly slipped from Pierre’s hand onto the marble floor. The manager's face drained of color, turning as white as a sheet of wet paper. He slowly turned his neck toward the youth in worn-out jeans sitting casually before him.

Cedric’s brow furrowed as he sensed the sudden, unnatural shift in the air. "Pierre? What is it? Who was that?"

Kaspar slipped his phone back into his pocket and stood up slowly. His 6-foot-1 frame instantly cast a shadow over the trembling manager.

[Daily Mission Complete: Purchase Marly Cafe.]

[Processing Rewards: Physique Enhancement Pill & Divine Charm Activated.]

Instantly, a warm current surged through Kaspar’s veins. His posture straightened, and his eyes radiated a sharp, overwhelming dominance that left Beatrice momentarily stunned. His shoulders broadened, and the lingering air of poverty evaporated, replaced by the crushing aura of a true monarch.

"Pierre," Kaspar said, his voice quiet, yet ringing clear through the suddenly silent VIP section.

"Y-yes... Mr. Eldridge..." Pierre bowed at nearly a ninety-degree angle, his chest heaving with sheer terror.

"As the sole owner of this establishment," Kaspar pointed a finger at Pierre, then slowly gestured toward Cedric and Beatrice, "my first order is simple."

Beatrice held her breath, her hand trembling against her pen as she realized the dynamic had shattered in an impossible direction.

"You’re fired," Kaspar told Pierre. "And before you pack your things, call security to throw these two beggars out onto the street. Right now."

"Kaspar! Have you lost your mind?!" Cedric barked, his face flushed red with shock and rage as two burly security guards began marching into the cafe. "Who do you think you are?!"

Kaspar merely offered a cold smile, stepping past their table without looking back, while the notification counter in his mind ticked relentlessly on.
