"What the hell is this?!"

Cedric screamed. His voice shrieked through the tranquility of Marly Cafe, causing several sharply dressed patrons at neighboring tables to glance over with furrowed brows.

"Pierre! Are you insane?! Do you have any idea who I am? My father holds a fifteen percent stake in the holding company that owns this cafe!"

Pierre, his face still as pale as a corpse, clutched his heaving chest. His trembling fingers pointed toward the cashier’s iPad screen, which had suddenly flashed red with a legal notification of instant asset transfer.

"M-Mr. De Marly..." Pierre’s voice caught in his throat. "The central banking system just froze the old operating rights. Mr. Laurent called personally. If I don't obey the new owner's orders... I could be imprisoned for property infringement."

Two burly security guards in black suits stepped forward from the corner of the room. They were no longer guards hired by a standard franchise; they were elite security personnel under direct, automated contract with the building’s legal owner.

"Mr. De Marly, Miss Delacroix," one of the guards, a broad-shouldered man with a thick beard, stepped closer. His voice was deep and unyielding. "Please leave the premises voluntarily. Do not force us to use violence."

"Get your hands off me, you trash!" Cedric shoved the guard’s arm away violently, his face flushed red as the veins in his neck bulged. He pointed a shaking finger at Kaspar, who stood casually by the window. "Kaspar! What cheap trick did you pull?! Counterfeit money?! Money laundering?! You're just a broke, homeless orphan!"

Beatrice stood frozen. Her expensive red silk dress suddenly felt ice-cold against her skin. Her brown eyes locked onto Kaspar in utter bewilderment. There was no trace of arrogance or contempt left on her face—only profound confusion.

"Kaspar..." Beatrice took a step forward, her voice quivering slightly. "Where did you... where did you get five million dollars? Did you sell your father’s land behind my back?"

Kaspar looked at the woman in front of him with a flat, emotionless stare. His eyes were entirely hollow—as if Beatrice were no longer the woman he had once loved to the point of desperation, but merely a pile of plastic garbage blocking his path.

"My father’s land is none of your concern, Beatrice," Kaspar replied curtly. His tone was calm, yet carried a crushing weight that stole the breath from her lungs. "And you have no right to ask."

"You—!" Cedric pulled back his gray suit jacket, stepping forward to grab Kaspar by the collar. "You did this on purpose to humiliate me in public?!"

Thud!

The bearded guard gave him no chance. With a single powerful push to the chest, he sent Cedric stumbling backward into a nearby wooden table. A porcelain coffee cup crashed onto the marble floor, shattering into pieces as dark liquid splashed across Cedric’s expensive shoes.

"Get out," the guard ordered coldly.

"Good. Drag them both out," Kaspar interrupted without a drop of emotion.

He turned his back on them, walking toward the VIP leather booth tucked away in the quietest corner of the cafe.

"Kaspar! Don't you dare treat me like this!" Beatrice shrieked as one of the guards gripped her arm firmly, escorting her toward the exit. "We aren't finished! The patent release contract—"

Beatrice’s voice was instantly cut off as the heavy glass doors of Marly Cafe swung shut.

Outside, the sky over the financial district had darkened without warning. A frigid downpour began to pelt the concrete pavement, drenching Cedric and Beatrice as they were shoved onto the wet street.

Kaspar sank into the plush black leather sofa. Pierre, who had just been fired, stood a short distance away, trembling as he waited for final instructions before packing his things.

Kaspar paid the former manager no mind. Leaning back, he closed his eyes and summoned the transparent System interface into his mind.

[God-Level Capital System - Main Panel]

Real-Time Balance: $10,004,200

Income Rate: +$100 / second ($8,640,000 / day)

Physical Assets: Marly Cafe (Real Estate & License - $5,000,000)

System Inventory: 1x Physique Enhancement Pill (Tier 1)

Passive Skills: Divine Charm (Active), Absolute Financial Vision (Unlocked/Ready to Claim)

Claim Physique Enhancement Pill, Kaspar whispered in his mind.

A tiny black pill, glistening like a dark pearl, materialized magically in his right palm. Without a moment's hesitation, Kaspar popped the pill into his mouth and swallowed it whole.

Within seconds, a scorching heat akin to molten lava rushed down his throat and settled into his chest. Kaspar clenched his fists against his thighs as the veins in his arms bulged slightly. He could feel every muscle fiber being pulled, compressed, and restructured on a microscopic level. His spine, once slightly stooped from the exhaustion of a grueling life, snapped into perfect alignment. A faint mist of impurities seeped from his pores, evaporating instantly into the air.

Two minutes later, the burning sensation gave way to an extraordinary surge of vitality.

His hearing sharpened drastically—he could even hear Pierre’s frantic heartbeat five meters away. His vision became impossibly crisp; he could clearly discern every thread of the leather sofa and the microscopic hairline fractures in the glass walls.

[Physique Enhancement Pill (Tier 1) Applied Successfully!]

[Physical Strength, Reflexes, and Endurance increased by 300%.]

[Unlocked Passive Skill: Absolute Financial Vision (Tier 1).]

Kaspar opened his eyes. As he looked out the window, his perception of the world transformed.

On the digital billboard displaying the city’s stock exchange charts, he no longer saw plain numbers. Instead, he saw intuitive streams of gold and red lines flowing across the screen. The gold lines signaled potential profit trajectories, while the red lines marked devastating losses.

When his gaze drifted to the financial news on the cafe's TV—which was broadcasting a profile on the De Marly Group—a thick red line encircled the company's name, accompanied by a striking projection: -92% within 48 Hours.

A faint, cold smile touched Kaspar's lips. This System wasn't just a money-printing tool. It was a weapon of mass destruction in the modern world.

"M-Mr... Mr. Eldridge..." Pierre stepped forward hesitantly, his head bowed. He held a small cardboard box containing his personal belongings. "I've... I've packed my things. Is there... anything else?"

Kaspar gave Pierre a brief glance. "Leave the keys at the register. Tell your assistant manager to take over temporarily until my personal assistant arrives."

"Understood, sir. Thank you..." Pierre bowed deeply before rushing out the back door as fast as his feet could carry him.

Outside Marly Cafe, the storm raged harder.

Cedric stood at the edge of the curb, drenched to the bone. His slicked-back hair hung messily over his forehead, and his tailored suit was ruined by filthy rainwater. He held his phone to his ear, screaming frantically into the microphone.

"What do you mean our subsidiary’s stock on the London exchange dropped ten percent this morning?! Find me a liquidity loan right now!" Cedric roared before slamming his phone shut. He kicked a nearby lamppost to vent his rage. "Dammit! That broke bastard must be using dirty money! I'll have my father destroy him!"

Beside him, Beatrice stood frozen.

Her once-flawless makeup was running down her face in dark streaks, washed away by the rain. Her wet red dress felt impossibly heavy, but her mind felt heavier still. Her hands trembled violently as she stared at Kaspar’s name in her contacts.

Memories of the past flashed through her mind. The Kaspar who used to wait outside the university library holding an umbrella for her... The Kaspar who worked late-night shifts just to buy her a birthday gift...

The very same man who had just looked at her as if she were a piece of meaningless trash.

"No... this isn't right," Beatrice muttered to herself, her eyes wide. "There's no way Kaspar has that kind of money. He must be doing this on purpose to get my attention. He has to still love me..."

With shaking fingers, Beatrice pressed the call button.

She raised the phone to her ear, holding her breath against the roar of the pouring rain.

Inside the cafe, Kaspar walked steadily toward the glass exit. His footsteps echoed firmly against the marble floor. In his hand, he held a sleek black umbrella stamped with the exclusive Marly Cafe emblem, handed to him by one of the staff.

The cheap smartphone in his pocket vibrated. Kaspar pulled it out, looking down at the screen flashing with the name: Beatrice Delacroix.

Kaspar paused at the glass door. Through the rain-streaked pane, he could see Beatrice standing drenched on the sidewalk, holding the phone to her ear while staring straight at the entrance.

A cold, mirthless smile played on Kaspar’s lips. His thumb slid across the screen, tapping Block and Delete Contact.

Beep... Beep... The call has been disconnected.

The cold tone of a busy signal filled Beatrice’s ear. As she raised her pale face, the glass doors of the cafe glided open.

Kaspar stepped out, opening the black umbrella with a smooth push. The combined effects of his Divine Charm and the Physique Enhancement Pill rendered his posture towering and effortlessly dominant amidst the storm—like a high lord walking among commoners.

"Kaspar!" Beatrice screamed, stumbling forward without care for the puddles ruining her high heels. "Kaspar, wait! Talk to me!"

Kaspar didn't turn his head even an inch. He continued walking straight through the curtain of rain, leaving his cheap sneakers behind as he crossed the main avenue of the financial district, heading toward a grand glass flagship store two hundred meters ahead: Maybach & Bugatti.

Beatrice tried to give chase, but her wrist was yanked back violently as Cedric grabbed her arm.

"Where do you think you're going, bitch?! Why are you calling his name?!" Cedric barked, his eyes bloodshot.

Beatrice snatched her arm back, her eyes fixed on Kaspar’s silhouette as it vanished slowly into the rainy mist of the city.
