“Who is on the line?”

Francis asked with a deep tone.

“Williams Mathias.” The voice on the other end replied.

“Mr. Williams Mathias?” The shock in Francis’ voice didn’t go unnoticed. “I don’t want to have any business with or anyone associated with my family. Have you forgotten how I was falsely accused of been involved in a financial scandal that made the family get to the brink of bankruptcy? My parents couldn’t deal with it and they both died of high blood pressure.”

“I understand your pain but please we need to meet, Young Boss.”

Williams said with a remorseful tone.

“What for? I don’t want to have anything to do with you.” Francis sneered.

“After your parents’ death, investigations revealed the real culprit and your family, especially your grandfather, regretted their harsh treatment towards you. We have all been searching for you. We all want you to return home.”

Francis sighed, “I have found another home, I have to go.”

Francis was about to cut the call when Williams spoke.

“Your grandfather has made you the heir of the family. You have to claim your inheritance. We need to meet; your caregiver still has a debt to clear. If you take all what is rightfully yours, money will never be your problem,” said Williams.

It dawned on Francis that his family is responsible for the money deposited for Aunt Anna’s hospital bills. It implies they have been keeping a close watch on him.

Francis was quiet for some minute as he thought about the money needed for Aunt Anna’s medical bills.

Then he said, “Let’s meet at the hospital but I am not promising you that I will return home.

An hour later.

Francis was standing beside a middle-aged man who leaned against a black vehicle.

The man was Williams Mathias.

Francis asked with a frown, “What exactly do you all want from me now?”

Williams placed his hand on Francis’ shoulder and said. “We are not ignorant of all the pains and struggles you passed through all these years but you have to claim your inheritance now. Your grandfather wants you back”

Francis shook his head, “What is the big deal? If I meant so much as the heir of the family, grandfather wouldn’t have treated me the way he did.”

Francis was the only child of his parents. He was the heir of the family.

However, four years ago, there was a conspiracy against him and he was accused of being involved in a financial scandal that left the family’s company at the verge of bankruptcy.

Francis announced that he was innocent but his family didn’t believe because his signature was on all the documents presented.

Then, he was disowned and thrown out of the house.

Due to this issue, his both parents couldn’t deal with staying away from their only child and they eventually died.

While Francis roamed aimlessly on the street, he met Aunt Anna who worked in a foster home and she took him in.

After some months, his path coincidentally crossed with Grandma Carl. Because of the little help he rendered to her in crossing the road, she liked him instantly and insisted that he must be married to her granddaughter.

“Your Grandfather, Pa Gad, has waxed in age and doesn’t have the strength to oversee it alone. If you don’t want all what your family, especially all your father invested in the family’s company to fall into wrong hands who will embezzle funds and crumble the companies, then you have to return home.”

At that point, Francis recalled how his father worked night and day to make sure the family’s business stood out in every ramification.

“Pa Gad is sorry! Everyone's sorry!” Williams said with a remorseful tone. “As the heir to the wealthiest family in Kentic City, your grandfather has asked me to give this to you and you can access it without a passcode.”

Williams pulled out a black card from his pocket and gave it to Francis.

Francis was confused and shocked. He had heard his father and grandfather discuss a black bank card but he didn’t know that only special people had access to such cards.

“What is the balance in this card? I hope it’s not a trap to accuse me of embezzling the family’s wealth for reasons best known to grandpa.”

Francis had to air his views, his past experience made it difficult for him to believe and trust them.

“Balance?” Williams laughed “The money in the account linked to this card is immeasurable. I am sure it is an account with billions in it because of the card. That reminds me you are now the owner of Celestial Brands, the largest pharmaceutical company in Kentic City. Proper documentation will be done tomorrow and you have to be present.”

Billions? Immeasurable?

Francis couldn’t help but look at Williams with widened eyes. He knew his family was wealthy but never knew the extent of their wealth. At this point, he was tempted by all he heard, after all he needed money.

Owner of Celestial Brand!

The company that everyone in Kentic City wants to get a deal with. The Jakes’s family who insulted and humiliated him and even Santex family couldn’t dare to stand before the owner of Celestial Brand.

“I have to leave now; tomorrow’s meeting is by nine in the morning. Please be present.” Williams bowed slightly, got into the car and zoomed off.

Francis found it difficult to process all that happened.

Few hours ago, he was begging Carl's family for assistance but got humiliated and insulted. There, his wife was asked to divorce him and marry someone who they feel was better but so fast, the table had turned!

Francis soon returned to the cashier desk in the hospital.

“I want to pay up the remaining bills for Aunt Anna’s treatment.”

He handed the card to her and the black card which signified wealth and luxury drew the cashier's attention. For some seconds, she gazed at Francis.

She knew his appearance didn’t portray any sign of wealth but because of the black card, she knew he was someone she couldn’t annoy.

She received the card and initiated the transaction. It was successful!

Francis felt like he was dreaming. He was able to sort out a million bill within the blink of an eye. He couldn’t even estimate his current net worth.

It felt surreal!

Soon, Francis returned home.

He met Clara, Jacelyn, Yusi and a man called Jones.

Jones’ was Yusi’s fiancé. He was also from a wealthy family. He was out of the city for a business trip. He returned today and decided to pay Carls a visit.

“Just take a look at him, he still has the face to return here. Am I cursed not to enjoy wealth from my son-in-law?”

Clara uttered disdainfully as she looked at Francis.

“Mom, not again!” Jacelyn said, feeling embarrassed.

“I will keep saying it till this thing leaves this house and you get married to Fred Santex.” Clara sneered.

“So, this is the live-in-son-in-law that everyone has been talking about. He looks so pathetic.” Jones mocked.

Francis heaved, if only they knew that his status had changed for good!

Nevertheless, Francis decided to keep his restored identity a secret.

Even if he told them, they wouldn't believe.

“Yeah, everyone knows him as the one that depends on his wife and family for everything. My daughter must divorce him, I can't take this anymore.” Clara snorted, her expression colder than ever.

Jacelyn suddenly spoke, “Please leave Francis alone. I returned home because I was troubled at the office and now this.”

“If you don't want to be troubled, divorce this eyesore and get married to the person who can help you get the job done.”

Yusi said unapologetically.

“I promise, I would never do anything to hurt this family. If Jacelyn is ready to divorce me, I will accept it in good fate.” Francis bowed slightly.

“My family just signed another contract with Celestial Brand. I can connect you with someone who can help as long as you dance to my tunes.” Jones announced proudly.

“I don't need your connection.” Jacelyn spoke with a frown.

“How do you plan to fix the trouble you are battling with?” Jones asked, feigning concern.

“Let's go,” Jacelyn said and held Francis hand till they got to the bedroom.

“What trouble are you battling with?” Francis asked softly.

“Shit,” Jacelyn cursed as she laid flat on her bed. “Should we collect a loan to sort Aunt Anna’s medical bills?”

Jacelyn asked so she could divert the topic but it didn't work.

With a grin, Francis said. “Her medical bills have been taken care of. She will be discharged from the hospital soon.”

“Really? By who?” Jacelyn asked curiously as she sat up.

“A good Samaritan,” Francis replied. “Tell me what's going on at the office.”

“I am happy to hear that but I got into trouble at the office because I forged grandpa's signature.”

“What?!” Francis exclaimed.

Jacelyn explained, “There is enough money in the family's business account to help you save Aunt Anna but they all refused. I attempted to get the money through dubious means and I was caught in the act.”

“I am so sorry. How can I help?” Francis said soberly.

“Don't bother. To retain my position in the company, I have been asked to secure a contract with Celestial Brand. Only big and first tier companies can secure contracts with them. Carl enterprise doesn't stand a chance, I have to look for another job.”

“Celestial Brand.” Francis muttered before adding. “You have to attempt to get a contract with them. Not trying at all will only prove your weakness. It's better to try and get rejected than not trying at all. I assure you that you'll secure the deal.”

“If you say so,” Jacelyn mumbled and eventually slept off.

Francis laid on his own bed. He couldn't sleep. He was sorry for the pains, humiliation and troubles his wife had faced because of him.

Therefore, he was ready to sign all the documents that would make him the certified owner of Celestial Brand and with that he would render assistance to his wife.

Francis couldn't believe that Jacelyn went that far because of him.

After hearing her out, Francis vowed to make Jacelyn happy at all cost.

As long as she desires anything, she will get it!

For hours, Jacelyn remained in her room. Her eyes were swollen, an evidence that she had been crying. Francis went to the door, placed his head on it and said. “Jace, you’ve been in there for a long time. I understand how you feel but let me in. Other great opportunities will come again, your family do not worth your tears and worries.” Soon the door knob turned and Jacelyn allowed him in. “Francis, I feel terrible. Great opportunities? What opportunities can be greater than this one that I have lost with Celestial Brand and now, I am also jobless. My Mom will make life unbearable for me.” “I have heard enough, I’ll bring your food now or you have to divorce and marry one of the men your Mom wants for you.” Francis laughed. “Do I blame you? Of course not!” Jacelyn smiled and watched him leave the room. In a jiffy Francis was back with the tray containing her food. Slowly, she ate. Francis watched her closely. Very early the next day. Thompson and Keren arrogantly walked into Paul's house. “Where is Jacelyn? She should bring the documents. We don't want to be late for the meeting at Celestial Brand.” Keren uttered, with pride evident in her tone. Paul, who was seated in the sitting room, remained quiet. “Jacelyn,” Thompson screamed. Just then Clara approached and stood akimbo. “You can't be screaming here. Do I have to remind you that this is not your house?” “Whatever!” Thompson uttered. Keren couldn't help but giggle. “You call this a house? If only you had enjoyed luxury for a day then you'll know better.” Clara parted her lips slightly in readiness to utter a word but was interrupted by Jacelyn. “Here is the contract, all the best.” Jacelyn handed the contract to Thompson. “It's a good thing that you are not stubborn. I might consider talking to grandpa to give you a job at the company even if it's just being a clerk.” Thompson uttered with a sly smile. Jacelyn was still
