Chapter 002 - Hand over

When she returned home later that evening, her face was lit up with excitement and satisfaction. She had walked straight to Brian who stood at the end of the room with a glass of whiskey.

“How did it go?’ he asked firmly.

Amelia smiled and replied. “He signed it! But refused to take the money I offered him.”

Brian let out an evil smirk and sipped from the glass of whiskey in his hand. “That’s good news, so we don’t have to worry about that loser.”

She nodded in agreement, “Yes.”

He dropped the bottle of whiskey and the glass on the table, grabbed Amelia and kissed her so passionately. She couldn’t hold the excitement and immediately gave in.

They separated after a few minutes, Brian was very satisfied and said, “Tomorrow I will take you to Crystal Eagle to discuss cooperation as a reward and after that, we’ll begin to plan our marriage together.”

Amelia was overjoyed because of Crystal Eagle’s status. Cooperating with Crystal Eagle is something Andrew could never give her in a lifetime, she clearly chose the right person.

“But before that, we need to celebrate more, and spend time together.” He handed her a wine glass, poured a drink and raised the glass. “To our new beginning.”

Without hesitation, they gulped down the contents and smiled together before coming closer and kissing each other.

Meanwhile, in the prison yard. After Andrew had signed all the necessary documents given to him by the ex- minister.

The prison chief had met with the Ex-minister, “What do we do now?”

The ex-minister smirked. “You should take orders from Andrew, he is in charge now. And make sure you send the message to the others outside these walls.”

The prison chief shook his head in understanding and just as he turned, he went to his knees before Andrew. Seeing this the others joined him.

Andrew stood still, glanced at them and said. “Can I have a moment with Mr. Clark?”

The men nodded and walked away, leaving Andrew and Noah.

After they left, the elderly man took a seat and crossed his arms as he stared at Andrew.

“Why me? Why did you choose me,” Andrew asked.

Noah cleared his throat before he replied. “You are the only person I can trust, I also remember you are a fallen heir and giving you the opportunity is a good fortune for me. Because I believe you will not only help me but you can find your way back to restore your lost glory.”

Andrew for a moment was speechless, he looked at Noah, and then at himself.

However, Noah took off the crystal ring and handed it over to Andrew, “This is a symbol of power, and with this ring, you will command all my remaining Network including those in South Coast business coming, North Coast political circles and East-West underworld.”

Andrew glanced at the crystal ring for a moment.

“You will need to do two things on your way back to Los Angeles.” Noah leaned backwards with his arm crossed. “First, you will make all my enemies fall, and that way you can save yourself and free me from this hole.”

He continued, “Secondly, I have a secret illegitimate daughter in Dallas, who controls Crystal Eagle corporation. But she is currently in trouble and has been here to ask for my help. I want you to help her, and make sure all those who have betrayed me pay dearly for it.”

Hearing the second request, Andrew narrowed his eyes and asked. “Why didn’t you act yourself, why wait for me to do it?”

Noah’s lips curled into a smile. “There are some things I can’t do from inside these walls. Now you are free, you should help me.”

Andrew felt something was different about his second request. But he yanked the thought away from his mind and said. “Fine, I will do it.”

“You need to go now, someone is waiting for you,” Noah informed. “Find my daughter, and you will get more information about everything. Remember to tell her I love her and want her to be safe.’

Andrew put on the crystal ring and left the room.

The gate of the prison clanged open, releasing Andrew, and he walked out. He knew the task ahead of him wasn’t going to be easy, and he promised himself that he would do his best to make sure he didn’t fail.

Just then, a black Mercedes-Benz pulled up on the opposite side. And a young man quickly walked toward him.

Andrew eyed the uncharacteristic tattoo on the man’s neck, merely looking at him he knew it wasn’t one of the prison guards but Noah’s men.

“You must be Andrew Thomas?” He asked with a raised brow.

“Yes, I am,” Andrew replied.

“I’m James Zack, Mr Noah’s assistant.” He said, He handed Andrew a paper bag. “That’s a gift from Mr Clark. Come on.”

Andrew looked puzzled, he could not help but wonder what could be inside the bag, he walked toward the car.

Inside the car. Andrew opened the bag, found a new phone, a phonebook with three numbers boldly written and names. And a black bank card.

“The first number belongs to me, you can call me if you need anything. The second is my master’s number if you ever want to contact him in prison. While the last number belongs to his daughter.”

“The bank card belongs to you, inside is four hundred million dollars. Spend wisely.”

Andrew nodded and took a deep breath as he leaned on the leather chair, allowing himself to breathe the city air.

James drove the car to a small Villa and handed Andrew the key.

“You can stay here for tonight. Make sure you are ready by morning. You will be having a meeting tomorrow.”

Before Andrew could utter a word, James had already driven off leaving Andrew standing there staring at the key and then at the house before him.

He took a deep breath and smiled as he walked into the villa.
