Andrew woke up after having the same terrible nightmare he had had for the last four years.

Four years ago, he was supposed to be crowned the heir of his family’s business. But that night he had been betrayed by his stepbrother and shot twice. He had run for his life after his men were outnumbered.

That night he flew to somewhere far away, and he met a stranger, the face of the stranger wasn’t clear to him.

At that moment, his eyes flickered open. Andrew sat there for a moment, he tried to press the memory back again but everything around him seemed to be blank.

It was complicated, he had reached for the necklace, he could not help but wonder who it belonged to, and who was the mystery lady who saved his life that night.

He was not sad, not angry, but himself. He glanced at the large clock on the wall. And he rose to his feet.

Andrew’s phone buzzed, he looked at the number before answering the call.

“Mr. Thomas, it’s James.”

“I will be out in a few minutes.” Andrew hurriedly replied..

Meanwhile, Andrew had just stepped down from the car the moment it stopped in front of a large building, and he was perfectly dressed in a modest suit.

“That’s the entrance, I will stop here.”

“Why?” Andrew asked.

“I’m not permitted to step in. You know what to do.” James said.

Andrew nodded and then walked toward the entrance.

However, his perfect moment didn’t go as planned the moment his gaze fell on Amelia.

Amelia and Brian had just stepped out of their car when they saw Andrew.

“Isn’t that Andrew? What could he be doing here?” She muttered inwardly.

Andrew frowned, he was sure his eyes weren’t mistaken, it was Amelia.

Clinging to her arm was a young man with a dark beard, her lover, Brian Wilson.

“Where did you come from?” Amelia asked the moment he saw Andrew. “Don’t tell me you’re here to ask for the money you rejected.”

At that moment, Brian chuckled dryly. “Darling, maybe he is here to apply for a job.”

They both laughed at him, “You’re right, what makes him think they would employ an ex- convict, trash like him doesn’t fit to even work as a janitor in our house.”

“Why do you always think highly of yourself, Amelia? What I am doing here is none of your business.” Andrew said with gritted teeth.

“You should be worried because with just a phone call from my darling, Brian. You will not only lose your chance of getting a job here but you will also be kicked out of the building and he will make sure you don’t get any job in this city.”

Amelia spoke so confidently, unknown to her that her ex-husband wasn’t an ordinary man.

Andrew didn’t get angry; instead, he smiled and shook his head. “Your lover is not a threat to me, neither are you!”

Brian frowned, “You pathetic jerk, you should have been on your knees begging for my help so you could get a job or even access inside the building, or probably…”

Andrew cut him off, “Don’t worry about me. I can find my way inside and even to any floor I want.”

Amelia rolled her eyes, “Spare me the fake pretence. This is Crystal Eagle corporation, not some cheap restaurant or underdeveloped firm you can walk into uninvited, only people who are powerful and know the game make it through the entrance.”

“You, Andrew, you don’t have the connection to walk through that door, you’re an ex- convict, and that alone would make them kick you out.” She added.

“You sound funny, Amelia!” Andrew said as his lips curled into a cold sneer, “You should be worried about yourself, Crystal Eagle is a big company, and I believe they wouldn’t want to collaborate with a low-budget company like yours.”

Amelia’s face flushed with anger. “Who are you calling a low-budget company?

“Yours of course.” He replied disdainfully.

Then he turned and walked into the building, ignoring Amelia’s and Brian’s screams from behind.

“He is going to pay dearly,” Brian said assuring her.

Amelia had strode quickly to catch up with Andrew, she wanted to teach him a lesson at least slap him or get Andrew humiliated. Since they were now inside, she felt this was the perfect moment.

She gritted her teeth and walked toward the security guard. “I’m Amelia Anderson, and that’s my fiancé, Brian Thomas. I have something important to say,” she pointed at Andrew who was now at the front counter with the receptionist, and began explaining, assuring them that her lover would take responsibility for anything that happens.

A few minutes later, five security men stormed forward each with a stern expression, and had their eyes fixed on Andrew.

“Hey! Stop there!” One of the men said firmly.

Andrew looked at the men, his face turned ugly red, and then took a step forward but one of them stood before him. “Where do you think you’re going? Leave this building immediately or I will have to force you out myself.”

He looked at the security guards, then he looked at Amelia and Brian, who were watching with their arms still clinging, without being told he knew this was their games.

He was about to speak when a voice rang out clear and sharp just as the elevator door opened, cutting through the moment.

“What’s going on?”

"Don't you have any idea whom you're messing with?"The leader grinned, slow and mocking. "That's exactly why we're letting you step out on your own, Ms. Clark.
