By the time Amelia reached him, father, Aaron, her mother Catherine, her sister, Rosanna and her brother, Kenneth, were all waiting for her.

They held a small party to celebrate her collaboration with Crystal Eagle, but then she walked in with an expression that showed that something was wrong.

They’d exchanged worrisome glances, wondering what could have happened.

Catherine stopped her daughter, “What happened? Didn’t you get the deal?”

Amelia’s eyebrow lifted, her eyes red moving between her family members.

“Nope, I didn’t,” she announced.

Their eyes wide, “What? What happened?”

“Why?”

Amelia’s expression shifted into something unexplainable, and she spoke out.

“We went there to meet with Miss Clark,” her voice cracking. “Then we met Andrew, who deceived Miss Clark into not offering us the deal.”

“Which Andrew?” Rosanna asked. “Don’t tell me your ex-husband.”

“I thought he was still in prison?” Kenneth asked.

“If you had shown the police that video as we talked about this wouldn’t have happened, he would have still been in prison.” Her mother said.

Amelia settled on the chair, her arm shaking as many thoughts ran through her mind.

“What are we going to do? The company needs this collaboration. Have you talked to Brian about this?”

She exhaled, unsure of how to explain what happened, but she knew her family would persist; she called Brian, so she had to spill everything out.

The entire family’s jaw dropped with shock, They exchanged glances.

“You mean the Thompsons ‘ family lost everything,” Kenneth asked in disbelief.

Amelia nodded looking at them with sad and tired eyes.

“Where the hell is Andrew?” Catherine asked. “How could he do such a thing? What’s his relationship with Miss Clark?”

Amelia turned to her mother, whose eyes were red, “I don’t have any idea.”

The entire family murmurs and shakes their head after the news hits them. They couldn’t believe something like this would happen.

Catherine looked at her daughter for a moment with an unreadable expression, she felt her daughter was at fault, if she had stuck with the plan at first, she believed Andrew would have been serving another sentence behind bars.

“He has no right to make us lose the deal. I understand he might be angry that you divorced him. But he went too far.” Rosanna’s voice was low.

Kenneth pulled out his phone, his eyes darkened “Don’t worry, I have friends around the city. I will have someone look for him. And when I find him, I am going to kill him.”

That same evening, Andrew arrived at the venue he adjusted his suit and made his way toward the entrance, camera lights flashing around, he was unbothered.

Then suddenly a voice spoke from behind, he turned and saw Ellie.

She was dressed in a dazzling red gown. She faked a smile the moment she spotted Andrew.

“I didn’t know you were out of prison.” She voiced in a mocking tone.

Andrew frowned, he couldn’t tell why Amelia and her friends were the same. He looked at the man beside her. He was Livinus Martin her husband.

“You!” Livinus said, “Don’t tell me you got a job to serve here.”

Andrew shook his head, “No, I was specially invited by Miss Olivia Clark as a guest.”

At that moment, they both chuckled. “Darling, did you hear that?” Ellie said smiling.

“Of course I did. I didn’t know your friend’s ex-husband was funny. What makes him think someone as popular as Miss Clark would invite him to such an important event?”

“Andrew, I know you just got out of prison and it’s difficult for you, but you don’t have to say things like that. You’re trash and don’t even fit into places like this.”

Their worst infuriated Andrew, he replied coldly. “Why do I have to listen to barking dogs like you two?”

“What did you just call us?” Ellie snapped angrily. “Look, don’t you dare call us names if you don’t want to get hurt.”

“Well, there is no need to talk to you, we’re here because we are going to become partners with Crystal Eagle corporation, and we don’t want someone like you to ruin our moments for us.” She continued.

“People like you don’t deserve a deal with Crystal Eagle. Your company is just a small box looking to get involved with big guns.” Andrew didn’t hold back..”

“Look at the garbage talking! We’re already on the list of companies that would get the deal. I can bet that with you, that’s if you will even get inside when our company gets listed.” She snapped.

Andrew chuckled, “Don’t worry, I have a special place inside and we’ll get to see who is telling the truth.”

“Spare me the lies. There is nothing special about you, that’s why Amelia dumped you.” She fired angrily. “You see I thought you had sense but it looks like Prison had taken them away. Let’s make a bet. If my company gets picked tonight, which I am sure will happen, you will lick my heels and if they didn’t I will definitely eat my poop.”

Livinus smiled. “Darling, you don’t want to get involved with him. He doesn’t know what it takes to own a property, not to talk about owning a company.”

A small crowd had already gathered, after sensing the drama brewing.

Andrew smiled and didn’t hesitate, “Deal, make sure you haven’t eaten something bad cause you might end up eating more than that.”

With that, he ambled forward to the entrance and handed the security team his green invitation. The guards eyed Andrew and scanned him once.

However, the security guard shook his head after the beep.

“I’m sorry, your name is not on the system. You will have to leave.”

Livinus and Ellie burst into loud mocking laughter

“Andrew, I knew you were lying when you mentioned you were invited by Miss Clark. You’d just embarrass yourself.” She sneered. “Didn’t you say you could get in? Ohh, get ready to lick my heels.”

Andrew frowned.

At that same moment, Ellie handed over their invitation to the guard who didn’t hesitate to scan, and he smiled.

“Welcome Mr and Mrs Martins,” he said politely, gesturing them in.

Ellie smiled and turned to Andrew. “I’m not in a hurry to get inside, I want to watch how you will get humiliated.”

Andrew reached for his phone, dialled Olivia’s number, and the moment she answered she said.

“Mr. Thomas. I’m waiting for you, why aren’t you here?”

“I’m outside and the invitation card you handed to me got declined.” He replied with an unimpressive voice.

“No that’s impossible, you can try again this time, inform the security to try with the Vip iPad.”

“Who did you call, don’t tell me it’s Miss. Clark!” She taunts. “Stop faking things, you should apologise to me and I will help you gain access without stress.”

Andrew ignored her, and handed over the invitation card to the security guard, “You should try with the Vip iPad.” He commanded.

The security guards exchanged glances.

Ellie laughed even louder. “Did you say VIP iPad? You believe it will work? Come on, stop the acting and tell us where you got that invitation, before you get kicked out or arrested.”

“Shut your mouth,” Andrew said coldly. “One more word from you and I will strip you of everything you own.”

Livinus roared. “How dare you talk to my wife like that?”

“What are you waiting for,” Andrew said glaring at the security guards.

The murmurs in the crowd grew louder as everyone kept wondering who Andrew was and why he claimed the security guards should use the VIP iPad.

Seconds later, the guard took the Card and tried again.

The moment the card was scanned the men looked at each other with their jaws dropped in disbelief.

“You’re Mr Andrew Thomas?”

One of the men asked, looking puzzled.

“Yes, I’m.”

Their lips parted open but no words could explain how they felt the moment they realised they had offended a VIP member.

The crowd sensed the shift and began whispering.

“We apologise for what happened, please forgive us.” One of the guards said. Then turned to call another guard standing at the far end.

“Please, escort him toward the Vip arena.”

VIP arena?

How?

Ellie and Livinus looked at each other confused, “How did he get a VIP ticket?”

She trembled in rage but couldn’t shake the feeling that what had happened had happened.

Andrew was actually telling the truth.

Several people looked at Andrew as he was escorted in by the guard, and murmurs around them grew louder.

We don't want to harm you yet."Andrew, beside her, was calm the way a lake goes still before a storm. "Stay in the car," he said quietly. "I can handle them.""No." Olivia's breath caught. She thought maybe he had done that on purpose because he knew something like this would happen.Livinus stepped forward, h

We are here to announce our new five partners.”Gasps rippled across the room, all eyes were fixated on the stage, as the murmurs died down.“First, I will call on the CEO of the company to announce the five selected companies for future collaboration with Crystal Eagle.”Olivia smiled as she took the stage; the guests stood and applauded her entrance, then sat back to listen to the announcement. A few of the men had their eyes on her alluring beauty, and her figure, that they couldn’t concentrate on the event. She took a deep breath, as she announced. “As you all know, each year we pick five companies that align with our company’s vision and reward them with a partnership deal. Mere looking at him, he wasn’t like the rest he had sent over the years. While she thought about it, she also looked respectful on the surface. “Mr. Thomas, you can tell me if you need anything, and I will have it brought to you.” At this moment, a secretary knocked on the door and said. “Miss. Clark. Mr. Thompson and his fiancée are still waiting to see you.” Olivia stared at Andrew, and then back at the secretary. “I’m busy, let them wait if they can or they should leave.” After the secretary left, she asked. “Why do they have a grudge against you?” She knew Amelia was his ex-wife, but couldn’t tell why she had hated him so much that she wanted to humiliate him. “I don’t want to talk about that,” he simply replied.
