Leon arrived at the location the taxi driver had mentioned. He pulled his car over, stepped out, and walked into the nearby public payphone booth. Rose’s phone was right there in one corner, wrapped in a dark blue cloth.

He took the phone back to his car. The battery was almost dead. While charging it, he checked the chats and call history from earlier that day. Unfortunately, there were no clues pointing to who had abducted Rose or where she had been taken.

He set the phone on the passenger seat. Still no updates from Dimitri. On the way here, Leon had called him, asking him to scan all the surveillance cameras near the intersection where the kidnapping had taken place.

If that’s the case, my instincts are the only thing I can rely on, he thought.

He started the Rolls-Royce again, made a U-turn, and began driving down the same route the silver sedan had taken.

At that moment, his phone buzzed repeatedly. Leon checked the screen — an incoming call from Arkwell.
