2024-04-18 13:04:01Anna felt strange. The windows were closed but she felt cold. Her eyes roamed around the place as she walked. Not until she stumbled upon the figure of her late father sitting on his chair.
Anna said, " Dad? Is that you?”
Anna tried to slap herself as she checked if she was dreaming or not, but nothing happened.
" Dad... is that really you? I can't believe this.A-Are you typing a new story? I'm a scriptwriter now dad, I'm now also a writer, and... and you're my main inspiration. There are so many questions bugging my head for a long time now that I'd like to ask you. Dad?”Anna frowned.
Anna said, "Can you hear me? Wait a minute... this scene feels so familiar yet foreign at the same time. Did this happen already before?"

Anna saw the large mirror on the side of the room and saw herself being confused and amazed at the same time.

Anna shrieked as she realized that it was her father who talked. She looked at him and saw that she was still busy with what he was doing.
" Dad! You scared me!”
" I'm sorry, Anna. What are you even doing here in the middle of the night, anyways? Shouldn't you be in your bed sleeping already?”
" And where's Jake?”
" I... uhm... I—I don't know.”
Dad said, " He's probably in bed sleeping soundly already. You should too. You still have classes tomorrow to attend.
Anna said with a frown, ", " But I don't feel like sleeping, Dad. There are so many thoughts running inside my mind, making me unable to even close my eyes for a short moment. And I... actually want to ask you a lot of questions.
Dad said, " Sure, my dear. Sorry if I don't spend much time with you and your brother anymore that much longer, it's just that I'm so busy with work.

Anna's father released a deep heavy sigh which kind of took her off. At first, she really didn't notice that something was wrong. Not until she finally focused on the typewriter and saw that there wasn't even any paper on it. It was just that, her father was working and tapping the keyboard creepily.

Dad said, " I thought you said that there are thought bugging your mind? Say it to me dear. Maybe after that, you could finally sleep already.

Anna swallowed hard as for some reason, she couldn't look at her father's face. She gazed at the typewriter once again, and now, was horrified. It was now covered with blood. With her father's bloody hands and fingers dripping blood as they continued to tap on the typewriter.

Dad said, " Do you mean this?”
He slowly shook his hands as he released an eerie burst of laughter. Since Anna couldn't manage to look at her father, she just decided to look in the mirror, and there she saw how her father was now looking at her. With blood dripping out of his eyes, nose, and mouth. Her father gave out an evil smile.
Anna said, " Ahh!
Dad said, " Why do you seem so scared? Don't you like the father in this state?
The second Anna turned her head to look at her father... he was now already being hanged on the ceiling, with his body swinging playfully.
Anna said, " Ahhh! I want to wake up! I want to wake up now! This is just a bad dream! I don't want any more! Ahh!
Anna said, " Ahhh!
Jake said, " Anna! Anna! Wake up! What is happening to you?! Shit—
Anna said, " Jake! Oh, Thank God!
Anna took in a deep breath as soon as she opened her eyes and saw Jake's worried face.
Anna said, "It was indeed a bad dream."
Jake said, "What is it? I can imagine it being really bad, you weren't even breathing and were already turning purple when I got here."
Jake continued, "Then suddenly, you started screaming, I got so scared I don't know what to do. I'm glad you have woken up."
Anna asked, "What time is it?"
Jake replied, "It's past midnight. I left the party early since I was worried about you. What you said to me about what happened in the attic before I left kept hunting my mind. I'm really glad that I followed my guts and instincts and went home already."
Anna stammered, "H-How did you get in? Are you hungry?"
Jake shook his head. Jake took some cold water from the fridge and handed it to Anna which she accepted.
Jake said, " I knocked on the door many times, trying to see if you were still awake, but when I noticed that you aren't, I just used my spare key.”
Anna said, " Oh... do you want to eat?’
Jake said, " I'm not really that hungry.”
Anna was still catching her breath as she looked away.
Jake said, "Your hands are shaking. If you want, you can come with me to the kitchen. I'm going to cook something for you. I'll eat too if you're up for it."
Anna replied, "T-Thanks. That... that would be great. I don't really think that I could still go back to sleep after that bad dream."
Jake nodded, "Alright, let's go then."
Anna smiled bitterly as she accepted Jake's hand which is offering her some support. Both of them headed to the kitchen to cook not so long after.
