CHAPTER NINE
It was a ruckus, the hallway of the new Manhattan Branch of Hexagon Industries. Austen Hendrix could be seen storming through the crowd as he made his way toward the office of the CEO, Kace Cameron. He was here to see him. He wasn't leaving until they had he wasnt leaving until they reached an agreement. An agreement that would have Kace surrender his shares. This was a reckless move, but Austen intended to move smart. If he could threaten Kace to give up the shares, it just might work. At least, it was going to influence his decisions going forward with the plan he had in store for them.“Excuse me, sir, but you can't go in there,” a lady said, coming across to him as he arrived at the door. Hr halted his steps and turned to face her, his ocean-blue eyes burning with rage.“Do you know who I am, young woman?” he demanded. The woman who was blonde with her hair packed neatly into a ponytail and glasses that hid her lemon eyes nodded as she stared at Austen.“You are Mr. Austen Hendri
CHAPTER EIGHT
“SHIT!” Austen Hendrix yelled as he slammed his fist on the desk. He was in his study with the light dim, and the hearth crackling softly. He had made them look like fools in front of everybody. Flynn Grayson. Or whatever he was calling himself now. It didn't make any difference to Austen. How could they have ignored this? How could they have allowed someone like Kace to get his hands on their company shares? They were all in big trouble. There was only one thing he was here for, but Austen was too egocentric to say it.“Dad. You need to calm down,” Ava said as she sat across the room. She was surprised to see her father like this. Had she ever seen him this way? No. But having someone like Kace do this to them was despicable. Who would have ever thought that he would come back to hunt them? She thought she had gotten rid of him for good, but now he was back, and there was only one thing on his mind: Revenge.Austen glared at his daughter.“This is all your fault. You just had to marr

“I go by Kace now,” Kace said as he shoved one hand into his pocket. Ava took another good look at him. He could see the disbelief in her eyes. Yes. He was the last person that she expected to see at the party. But here he was. And they didn’t even realize now that he was the one of the shareholders in their company. He would love to see the look on Austen’s face when he dropped that bomb on him. “Kace?” She asked, shocked. “What happened to you? How long has it been? Three years?”“Five years, actually,” he replied calmly before taking another sip of his drink. “What are you doing here? How the hell did you even get in?” She asked. Kace scoffed. “You won’t believe me if I told you,” he said before turning around and walking towards the crowd. But she followed him and grabbed him by the hand. “I’m sorry about that, Flyn—I mean Kace,” she stuttered. “I didn’t mean that.”Kace shrugged. “It’s cool. You still see me as the man you left five years ago.”She shook her head. “No. That
CHAPTER SIX
“You stepped out of line,” Harvey said as Kace stepped into the house. He took off his suit jacket and placed it on the couch before unbuttoning his sleeves. “You told me that you were going to help me find out what happened in St. Maria,” he said, walking towards the kitchen. “And I’m doing just that,” Harvey said, following him. Kace scoffed as he opened the cupboard and pulled out a bottle of scotch. He placed it on the marble counter and reached for a glass. “This isn’t funny, Master Kace,” Harvey said. “The police could be on us at any minute now. You know we don’t think this way.”Kace rolled up his sleeves before pouring the amber liquid into his glass. “Now we do,” he said, placing the scotch back into the cupboard and walking towards the living room. Harvey followed him like a fly. “What’s going on with you?” He asked. “Five years, Harvey! Five fuckin’ years and we still haven’t made a single move until today,” Kace asked. “I got a name. Jarrell Milton. And how did t
CHAPTER FIVE
SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA.A black Cadillac pulled up at a mansion, and a man in a black suit and sunglasses stepped out of the car. He had a long look around the area before proceeding to open the backseat. “All clear,” he told the man inside. And then, a man stepped out of the Cadillac, with jet-black hair, green eyes, and perfect olive skin. He was wearing a lavender suit with global designs, which made him look spectacular. It was Kace Cameron. He looked around before nodding and taking a step forward. “Are you sure that this is a good idea?” Harvey spoke through the tiny earpiece in his ear. “This is how it goes down, Master Kace,” Harvey said in his ear. “This man is funding a bunch of criminal activities. There’s only one way that we can take him down for good, and that is to make sure that he’s gotten by the law.”Kace clenched his jaw and nodded. This was his job now, and he was going to make sure that he completed it. “Let’s go,” he told the guard who was standing behind hi

The trip back to Los Angeles was short but tiring. And Flynn had known from the private jet that Harvey was serious. In the plane, he had gotten a banquet, something he hadn’t seen in a long while. But he still couldn’t sleep. He was wondering where it had all gone long. If he had a wealthy family all along, why hadn’t they found him? And why didn’t he know about them? He had always thought that his adopted parents were the only family he had, and so he never asked about his real family. His reason was simple: if they cared about him so much, they wouldn’t have thrown him away. That was until now. Not after Harvey had told him the tragic story. His parents had been in an accident, and they had been separated while they were being rushed to the hospital. His father, Maximilian, had died before they could reach the emergency room, but his mom survived. And when nobody could identify him in Manhattan, they had sent him to a foster home where he had been found by his adopted parents, Sar
