"He should have known his place. People like them are meant to be trampled on by people like us.

I am sure you know this by now. I don't even know why you are being nice to him. Does making Ramon your friend helps you get over your doings? We both know playing the knight in shining armor isn't your thing." Stiles looked at Mark

"Did you just say that to me?" Mark looked angrily at Stiles. "I can show you who I am if that would make you shut your trap," Mark said angrily walking Stiles to the back.

Stiles was backing the wall with a fast heartbeat when they heard a phone ring.

The air was tense as the phone ringing tone was the only sound that could be heard. "That is yours, pick it up. " Mark looked at Stiles who was a beat sweaty

"No, I think it is for you. " He replied looking at Mark. Mark relaxed his gaze and picked up his phone. " Yes, you are talking to him." He replied pressing the phone to his ears. "I have to go." he looked at Stiles who was relieved to hear he was leaving him.

"Good riddance," Stiles said under his breath but he saw Mark look back at him. He walked back to him and landed a punch to his stomach. "The next time to talk back at me will be the last time you use those mouths." Mark snapped at Stiles walking out of the small room they were in.

Stiles got up dusting his body as he looked around to make sure he wasn't seen.

Stiles knew a lot about Mark, Mark was just like Xavier but he had a change of heart after so many atrocities he had committed in the university. He was lucky that his father was rich and he was a king on the campus, unlike Stiles who was not. chief.

Stiles was carefully bidding his time till he became a king too. He walked out of the locked room and decided he was going to join Xavier if it helped him take down Mark for good. He couldn't believe Mark could humiliate him for Ramon. They had been friends for a long time and Stiles has also been involved in most of Mark's wrongdoings. He finds it irritating that Mark is trying to play the good guy when bullying the weak is all they have ever done together.

Mark walked into the lavish hospital which belonged to his family and walked directly to the doctor's office. "Talk to me Albert, is my friend going to be able to walk on his two feet ever again?"

Doctor Albert shook his head and looked at Mark, " I am sorry but I think his spinal cord was broken at a force that it can't be repaired."

Mark looked up and sighed "Can I see him?"

"of course, I will take you to him."Albert stood up from his chair, escorting Mark to see Ramon. The door opens slightly showing Ramon on the bed. "I can see you have taken care of him." Mark looked at Doctor Albert and smiled.

Ramon carefully opened his eyes and he saw a blurry face right in front of him before he could discern who they were.

"Mark?" he said slowly trying to lift his body. Mark rushed to his side and helped him get up. "Why do I feel like I haven't sustained any injury?"

He asked looking a the man in a white robe in front of him. "Doctor, can you tell me what happened to my feet? I can't move them." Ramon said with a teary eyes.

"I think you need to calm down, Ramon. I and the doctor have talked at length and we are going to make sure everything is alright." Mark said reassuringly and Doctor Albert nodded

"But why can't I feel my legs? Am I a cripple now?" Ramon looked at Mark and then back at Doctor Albert.

"I am sorry, Ramon. We tried all we could but it looked like your spinal cord was broken. You will have to remain a cripple till we can find a solution to help you walk." Doctor Albert looked at him

"Crippled?" Ramon felt the dam of the tears he had locked up inside of him burst open. He looked at Mark who tried consoling him but couldn't. " Can I be left alone, please?" Ramon looked at Mark.

"I know how you feel but just so you know, I am going to be with you all through the journey," Mark promised and walked out of the room with the doctor.

Ramon cried his eyes out and wished he had never set foot in the city. His mind went back to the promise he made to himself. He. was going to become a better person than his father.

Now those promises were being crushed right under his eyes. He remembered his phone had played a Super Mario sound before he was taken down to the hospital. Ramon quickly grabbed his phone and looked at it.

It was still blank. He began to wonder what happened to it but then it booted and on. Ramon's heart beat faster against his chest as he under what he was going to see but then he felt even weaker when he saw his mother's wallpaper right in front of him.

Many thoughts kept on going through Ramon's head. How he was going to feed himself and even go about his daily life. He had been hoping from one spot to another doing all sorts of minimal jobs but now that he is a cripple he wondered what life awaits him.

The day went by, and Mark got him a wheelchair. As they drove him back home, He looked at his decent home and smiled " I didn't know you lived alone."

"As you can see, I am all by myself," Ramon said slowly.
