Chapter 10: A New Journey Begins

The world blurred around them. Yuno clung to her back with all his strength as he tried to maintain his grip while she maneuvered through the collapsing cave. Her movements displayed an unnatural precision while she walked because she avoided rocks that might fall with expert skill.

For a moment, silence.

They had made it.

The intense rush of adrenaline made Yuno breathe heavily as his body trembled violently. The pig took deep breaths while her torso moved quickly up and down. But they were safe.

The scene in front of him made Yuno’s eyes open wide.

That’s the Village Chief’s house!” Yuno whispered to Piglet, pointing toward the sloped hill and the wide cedar structure resting atop it. His voice trembled slightly—not from fear, but from the eerie sense of déjà vu it stirred. The sight of the tall roof, the moss-covered stone steps, and the vine-draped lion statues made something stir deep in the back of his fungal mind. Memories, half-formed and warped by his reincarnation, drifted to the surface like bubbles from a hidden spring. He could recall standing in front of this building as a low-level player years ago, fumbling through basic quests and class selection tutorials in the game’s early version. Now, here he was, a mushroom with thoughts, a hat, and a pig sidekick, walking toward the same place—but in real life, not pixels.Piglet squeaked in agreement, his small hooves clicking on the stones as he trotted ahead, his nose twitching at the smell of food som

The desperate attempt at survival had led to its creation. The structure managed to succeed despite its unprepared state and the lack of planning. Gravity pulled the mushroom and piglet down the sloping passage which led them deeper into uncharted territory. The soil had compressed into solid spheres that enveloped their bodies. The meteor strike caused an underground collapse which buried them under multiple layers of tightly packed earth. The momentary burial had sealed them inside a grave made of soil and rock. But something had shifted. The dirt cells which confined them began to shift. Their encased bodies kept rolling as they hit the uneven walls of the underground cavern. The impacts produced electrical shocks throughout their bodies yet they felt nothing except a confused state of numbness and dis
