Libradon watched the man who had become his slave for a long time.
While God Mervous' gaze never left the figure that resembled Goddess Earth, Libradon gave him a lopsided smile.
Although Libradon was not sure what God Mervous' gaze actually meant, one thing he did know was that the man must have been in awe of the beauty of the woman at his side.
"Welcome, chosen slave. I know you regret your actions."
Libradon said with both arms outstretched, his feet beginning to step down from his oversized chair.
The man seemed to smile sarcastically as his eyes met God Mervous'.
God Mervous deliberately returned the man's gaze as he heard his words that seemed to emphasize how mighty and powerful he was.
"How does it feel to be in this magnificent palace, slave? Are you proud? Are you happy? You've never found a paradise like this before, have you?"
Libradon gave God Mervous a sharp look.
The man was momentarily taken aback when he realized that God Mervous was not the least bit afraid let alone daunted by such a stare from him.
Based on his experience, out of the several slaves who had been his toys. Only God Mervous was much different from them.
However, Libradon did not show that as much as possible. He wanted to see how far the man's defiant look would last.
"Do you want to look like a God? Must I remind you, again? You are just a slave! Then act like a slave!"
Libradon snapped. His emotions rose rapidly as he realized that God Mervous was not afraid of him at all.
"So what if I'm just a slave? Do you feel superior to me? You only win because of the position you have. You have people protecting you. But what if you were alone? Would you be this brave?" replied God Mervous casually.
There was not a single fear in his heart. Instead, he had prepared all the replies for the man.
As Endrick had said, there would be no survivors of Libradon's punishment.
If indeed God Mervous would find that it was because he could not fight back due to his lost strength. Then at the very least, he would defend himself.
He would do whatever he thought was right.
Libradon smiled wryly. His gaze continued to look down at God Mervous even though he was clearly being challenged by God Mervous.
In addition, a figure similar to God Mervous' lover Goddess Earth also seemed to develop a smile that was so sweet to her.
For the first time, she could see someone so bold. Even since arriving, the slave before her had not lowered his head at all.
"Interesting. Not what I imagined." The Earth Goddess-like figure then muttered quite quietly.
The woman was amazed at the courage of the slave before her.
"Teressa! Are you interested in his? Look at this ignorant slave. How dare she look at you like that all the time. How disgusting!"
Libradon insulted the man before him.
Instead of feeling weak from the insult, God Mervous developed a faint smile on his face.
By now, he already knew the name of the figure who was so similar to his lover.
"Teressa. I will always remember that name," God Mervous murmured softly.
Finding God Mervous vaguely smiling made Libradon feel annoyed.
He then held out his hand for one of the guards to give him a long whip.
Crack!
Libradon, who was full of anger, then moved the whip until it caught the attention of everyone in the palace hall.
"Now who has no common sense? You've already annoyed everyone with that noise." God Mervous turned his gaze towards Libradon, belittling the man.
"You?! How dare you say such a thing to me!" Libradon was incensed.
His bloodstream felt as raging as the flames that ran through his body. He was burning with emotion.
Libradon tried to remain calm. He didn't want his reputation as a royal ruler to go down in flames.
The man rolled his eyes, avoiding looking at God Mervous for a moment.
"What's your name, slave?!"
Once he was able to control himself, Libradon looked back at the man asking God Mervous for his name.
"Why do you know my name? Didn't you already call me slave?" God Mervous casually retorted.
God Mervous really did not show the slightest sign of fear. A powerful fist now appeared in Libradon's right hand.
"Quick, tell me your name or you will soon meet your death."
Libradon threatened the man. He was certain that God Mervous would be instantly terrified upon hearing such an answer from him.
Of the many slaves who became his free playthings, all were immediately terrified when they heard they were about to meet their end.
All of them pleaded to the point of kneeling, kissing Libradon's feet.
Now, Libradon was only a matter of time. Because that man was very sure that God Mervous would definitely behave the same way.
A wide smile spread across Libradon's face as the man before him slowly lowered his head and bowed.
With only three arms lengths apart, Libradon was certain that the man would prostrate himself and kiss his feet begging not to be punished.
"Very good. You are indeed a slave..."
Libradon's eyes rounded perfectly.
Unlike what he had imagined, God Mervous took out a handkerchief from his pants pocket and wiped his shoes that had been hit by flying dust from Libradon's footsteps.
After finding both shoes visibly clean, the man put his handkerchief back in.
Straightening his body again, he deliberately raised his chin in defiance.
"Did you think I would kneel to you? Now who is the fool? Me or you?" Without flinching, God Mervous immediately said so.
That relaxed tone of voice without any expression made everyone marvel at him.
Even the bodyguards were equally surprised to find their Libradon king being treated in such a manner.
Now, Libradon really couldn't contain all the emotions burning inside him.
"You?! You're really making me angry."
Libradon clenched his hands into fists, his eyes beginning to turn red as his jaw hardened in anger.
God Mervous simply stared at the angry Libradon. He was not interested in responding.
"Please forgive me. I will give you a breather for some time." Libradon said aloud, thinking that the slave before him would ask for forgiveness.
Instead of immediately accepting the negotiation, God Mervous acted indifferent.
He did not care about the man before him at all.
"Are you crazy for flattery? Do you feel ashamed for being humiliated in front of so many people?" God Mervous said quite loudly.
By now, Libradon really could not take it anymore.
God Mervous' words had brought down his pride. All this time, Libradon had never been humiliated to this extent.
"Just watch. You will ask your slaves to give me punishment. You won't dare to fight me alone. Because what? Because you're just a weakling who can't do anything without your slaves," God Mervous continued, looking down on Libradon and making Libradon furious.
Enough! Libradon had had enough of all the insults said by the figure before him.
This time, he would not give the man in front of him any chance.
He vowed to torture the man severely. That man had to pay for his insults.
"Guards! Take him away! I'm really sick of seeing his face. Hurry! Take him away from my presence! Give him some torture! Make him regret his words!"
Libradon's emotional shout echoed throughout the kingdom.
Everyone could feel how enveloped in rage the man was at the moment. The heat was now transparent in the palace hall.
"You ignorant bastard! You will feel the consequences of your actions. All because you dared to defy me." Libradon tugged at the corners of his lips, very powerful there.
The guards immediately grabbed hold of God Mervous' body.
Instead of being frightened, God Mervous smiled wryly.
His gaze seemed to look down on the man before him.
"Quick! You're coming with us!"
The bodyguards dragged and pulled the man by force. Without putting up a fight God Mervous simply accepted their treatment.
However, before God Mervous could be taken away and disappeared from their sight.
Suddenly a voice stopped them in their tracks.
"Wait! Don't take him away just yet."
Teressa rose from her seat, descending her throne.
"Your Highness, may I ask you something?"
Libradon turned his gaze to Teressa.
His gaze, which seemed to be asking what Teressa wanted to say, made the woman then look briefly at God Mervous.
"Let me take care of his. Just leave him to me. Please."
Teressa seemed very confident in her words. "Please just leave him with me. I will punish him," Teressa reiterated.

Libradon had never visited Teresa's room without a clear reason. Not because he lacked the right, this was his palace, every corner and every room belonged to him, including the room he had allowed Teresa to occupy since many years ago. But there was an unwritten boundary between them that had formed not from rules, but from a habit maintained so long it had come to feel like an agreement. Teresa did not enter his study without an invitation. He did not enter her room without a purpose that could be stated plainly. This morning, he broke that.He walked along the corridor of the east wing with steps he kept looking unhurried, not rushed, not like someone who had been thinking about this since before dawn and had only found sufficient reason somewhere between his first sips of wine. Two guards followed behind at a comfortable distance. As usual. As though this were a visit he had not planned at all.Libradon stopped before Teresa's door.Through the wood that had not been fully shut, h

That morning, for the first time since he had woken in this room, God Mervous tried to sit up.Not because he felt sufficiently recovered. Far from it. This body still felt like ruins that had not yet finished collapsing, every small movement reminding him of wounds that had not closed, every deep breath feeling as though something was gripping from inside his ribs and refusing to let go. But lying still without doing anything was beginning to feel more torturous than the pain itself. He had spent too long on his back staring at the ceiling, letting his thoughts circle the same place without going anywhere.*Enough.* He pushed his body slowly upward, bracing on his right elbow. The muscles along his back protested immediately, a sharp pulse radiating from his left shoulder down beneath his shoulder blade, making him stop for several seconds, waiting for the sensation to ease slightly before continuing. Finally he managed to sit upright, his back resting against the cold wall behind th

Something felt different to Libradon. Not because there was a war threatening at the border, not because there was a disappointing tax report from his ministers, and not because the wine in his cup tasted more bitter than usual. What was different was only one thing, Teresa had not appeared.Libradon had been seated on his throne since morning, working through a series of tedious audiences, noblemen with their grievances, merchants with their petitions, guards with their routine reports. All of them came and went like waves that never truly caught his attention. And throughout all of it, the chair to his right, the chair that Teresa usually occupied, was empty.Libradon did not acknowledge that he noticed this. He would never acknowledge it, not even to himself. But his eyes kept returning there, to that empty chair, in a way that irritated him further each time he caught himself doing it."Your Majesty."One of his ministers was speaking. Libradon redirected his gaze to the front wit
Chapter 10
Edrick could not sleep. For three nights in a row he had lain on the thin straw that served as his bed, staring at the same stone ceiling, listening to the snores of other slaves who had long since made their peace with exhaustion, and his eyes would not close. His thoughts always returned to the same place.Kayrus.Edrick turned onto his side, facing the wall. The wounds on his back still stung when the rough fabric shifted against his skin, but the pain no longer felt important. There was something heavier than a physical wound that he carried with him wherever he went. The guilt never left.It only grew larger with each passing day, spreading quietly like roots splitting through stone, finding every gap inside a chest that was already too tired. He was the one who had brought Kayrus to that cave. He was the one who had followed information that turned out to be wrong. He was the one who had been foolish enough to trust rumors he had picked up from a corner of the dining hall, from

Not the warmth he usually knew, not the fire he had once controlled with a single movement of his hand, not the heat of battle that had always accompanied his steps like a loyal shadow. This was a different kind of warmth. Small. Simple. Like a thin blanket laid over a body that had been frozen far too long without realizing it.God Mervous opened his eyes slowly. The ceiling above him was not rough, damp stone. Not the ceiling of a prison cell with long cracks he had once memorized one by one because there was nothing else to look at. This was different. Higher. Cleaner. There were delicate carvings at its corners, motifs of winding plants rendered with precision, not excessive ornamentation, but enough to indicate that this room belonged to someone of importance. Candlelight flickered softly from the right, casting shadows that danced along the walls in a calm and steady rhythm. He did not recognize this place.God Mervous tried to move, and immediately regretted it.Pain surged fro
Chapter 8
That night, Teresa could not sleep. She had been lying down for almost an hour, staring at the ceiling of her lavish chamber — gold carvings along its edges, silk cloth hanging from the posts of her bed, all the luxury she usually paid no attention to. Tonight, everything felt heavy. Oppressive. Like stones being laid slowly on her chest without her realizing it.The candles in the corners of the room flickered in the silence. Her own shadow on the wall moved languidly, as if more restless than she was willing to admit.*"She looks so much like you. I even thought it was you."*Her servant's words kept spinning in her head, over and over, like a needle piercing the same spot without end.Teresa rolled over and stared at the window. The night sky stretched out full of stars, cold and distant, indifferent to everything churning beneath it. A thin breeze crept in through a gap in the window that hadn't been shut all the way, carrying the smell of wet earth and the late hour of the night.
