Chapter 9: First Evolution

The forest died in an instant. One moment, the Spirit Forest was filled with the sounds of students searching for treasures and hunting Spirit Beasts. The next..Everything went silent. The birds stopped flying. The wind disappeared. Even the leaves hanging from the ancient trees seemed afraid to move. Then the ground exploded. BOOM  A massive claw tore through the earth, sending broken trees and shattered rocks flying into the sky.

Students screamed as they were thrown backwards by the terrifying shockwave."What is that?! Run! It's a Beast King!"The words spread faster than panic itself. A Beast King.A creature that stood at the absolute peak of Spirit Beasts. A monster capable of destroying entire cities if it entered human territory. The entrance examination was supposed to test first-year students. It was never supposed to become a battlefield against a Beast King. Yet fate had changed. And no one understood why.

The enormous creature slowly pulled itself from beneath the earth. Its body was covered in ancient black scales, each one harder than forged steel. Four massive horns curved from its skull, glowing with dark spiritual energy. Its golden eyes swept across the forest, filled with thousands of years of arrogance. It was not simply a beast. It was an ancient ruler.

The students who had entered the forest with confidence now looked like helpless children. Some dropped their weapons. Others immediately ordered their Spirit Beasts to flee. Even the strongest students from elite families lost their courage."We can't fight this! Everyone retreat! Forget the examination!"Survival became the only thought. The Beast King released a low roar.

The sound alone shattered several trees. A group of students running too slowly were caught by the wave of spiritual pressure and thrown into the dirt. Their Spirit Beasts collapsed instantly. Fear spread throughout the forest. But Zhao Ming remained still. His eyes narrowed as he studied the creature. In his previous life, this Beast King had never appeared during the entrance examination. Something was different.

The timeline was changing faster than he expected. The system appeared. God-Tier   Spirit Beast System: Unknown Beast King Detected.Threat Level: Extremely High.Recommended Action: Avoid Direct Combat. Zhao Ming almost laughed. Avoiding danger was the logical choice. The old Zhao Ming would have escaped. The old Zhao Ming would have protected himself first. But this life was different.

Because someone was standing behind him.Lilith.The little succubus was trembling. Her entire body shook beneath the overwhelming pressure of the Beast King. Her instincts screamed at her to run. Every part of her knew the difference between them was impossible to overcome. The Beast King looked at her. Then Zhao Ming. A cruel intelligence flashed through its eyes. It sensed weakness. It sensed an easy target.

The monster raised one enormous claw. Spiritual energy gathered around it. The attack was aimed directly at Zhao Ming."Lilith!"Zhao Ming moved instantly. But he was too far away. The attack descended. The ground cracked beneath the force. Then...A small figure stepped forward.Lilith.She stood between Zhao Ming and the Beast King's claw. For a moment, everything froze. Zhao Ming's eyes widened."Lilith!"

She was terrified. Her legs were shaking. Her breathing was uneven. She knew she couldn't win. She knew she was only F-Class. She knew the difference between them was like comparing a candle to the sun. But she still stood there. Because the person behind her had chosen her when the entire world rejected her. The person behind her had called her valuable when everyone called her worthless.

The person behind her had given her a reason to believe she mattered."I..."Her voice trembled."I won't let you hurt Master."The Beast King's claw stopped inches above her. The monster seemed confused. A weak Spirit Beast.A creature at the bottom of the rankings. Yet she dared to resist. Zhao Ming felt something inside his soul shake. A connection.A bond deeper than any contract.

The system suddenly activated. The golden letters appeared violently. Critical  Condition Detected. Primary Companion Willingness to Sacrifice Confirmed. Emotional Resonance Reached Maximum Threshold. The entire forest trembled. Bond   Resonance: 100%.Zhao Ming's pupils contracted."No way..."The system continued. Hidden Evolution Triggered. Evolution Path Unlocked. F-Class Succubus Evolution Beginning.

The world changed. A terrifying pressure erupted from Lilith's small body. The Beast King's claw was pushed backwards. The students watching from a distance froze."What is happening?"That's impossible!""The F-Class Spirit Beast is releasing that kind of power?"Dark energy and golden light intertwined around Lilith. Her tiny wings expanded. The damaged black feathers transformed one after another, growing larger and sharper. Ancient symbols appeared across her skin, glowing with forgotten power.

The timid girl who always hid behind Zhao Ming...Was disappearing.Not because she was becoming someone else.Because she was finally becoming who she was always meant to be. The Beast King stepped backwards. For the first time...Fear appeared in its eyes. Zhao Ming stared in disbelief. Bloodline: Sealed Divine Succubus. Ability Unlocked: Ancient Soul Dominion. The question marks remained where her rank should have been. Even the system couldn't determine it. Lilith opened her eyes. The fear was gone. The weakness was gone. But the kindness remained. She looked back at Zhao Ming."Master..."Her voice was different.Stronger.Yet still warm."Are you hurt?"Zhao Ming almost forgot how to breathe.

After everything...After awakening power beyond imagination...Her first concern was still him. A quiet smile appeared on his face."No. I'm fine."Lilith turned back toward the Beast King. The enormous creature roared in anger. It had lived for thousands of years. It had crushed countless enemies. It had never been challenged by a creature it considered worthless.

The Beast King attacked again. This time, Lilith moved. She disappeared. Not quickly.Not with speed. She simply vanished. A second later, she appeared above the Beast King's head. Ancient symbols surrounded her hand. The air itself trembled."Return..."Her voice echoed across the forest."...to silence."She struck. A wave of dark-golden energy exploded.

The Beast King's roar shook the heavens. Then...The impossible happened. The legendary Beast King collapsed. Thousands of students watched in complete disbelief. The weakest Spirit Beast in the academy...Had defeated a Beast King. And standing at the centre of the ruined battlefield was Zhao Ming. The person everyone had mocked. The person everyone called foolish.

The person who rejected an S-Class Spirit Beast. The system appeared one final time. New  Evolution Completed. Hidden Destiny Changed Permanently. Zhao Ming looked toward Lilith as she slowly returned to his side. But before he could speak...A new warning appeared.Warning.Divine Blood Seal Damaged. Ancient Existence Has Detected Her Awakening. Far beyond the Spirit Forest...Something buried beneath the world opened its eyes. And a forgotten voice whispered: "The Divine Succubus has returned..."
