[ "I've never been the first to march to into the light, never been the first to be the one who defends. Never been the first to act righteously.

Yet I was the very first who held darkness on my own hands, the first to feed it. And the first to tame it." ]

Humming as I start to cut the threads of the dresses and clothes with my silver needle. A sudden thought came into mind.

The system.

If the system is what I really think it is, like the ones I read on daily basis on my phone. Then wouldn't it help me level up like those games? I never had played games like those, but I have always read some novels about them. And most of the stories I read would have the same situation like me.

Though, the Heroine of those stories would have an awfully bad start. They would often wake up dead in a middle of a forest. Or wake up being tortured to death by some servants or something. Now that the same thing has happened to me I can't help but find that they would be awfully calm is situations like those.

Well if it's them, and I'm me. But the thing is, the one that I am awfully curious about is those 'status'-

"What the fuck?" I couldn't help but exclaim the moment the familiar glass window popped up in front of me. The needle on my hand slipped and it pricked my finger. It wasn't injured, but it surprised me that I couldn't help but curse out loud.

I surveyed the text that was displayed and found out, that it was the same as the ones I read online. "Doesn't that mean that I can work my body like a game?" I couldn't help but mutter out loud.

[ The system cannot answer the host's question ]

Another window popped from beside the status window. I tilted my head in confusion. And I opened my mouth again and muttered to myself after coming to a random conclusion. "Does that mean the cultivation level and the system's level are different?"

[ Affirmative ]

The window that popped up had, been replaced by the new message. If both are different does that mean that I have to focus on one of the two to practice?. A random thought of mine popped up again and the system answered.

[ Denied ]

"What does that mean? You system have to elaborate." The clothes on my hands was momentarily forgotten as I chided the system.

[ The host can both level up the system and the cultivation. In leveling up the system the host can access to more Fantasy base techniques. While leveling up the Cultivation, the host can perform this world's techniques. ]

"Ara," I can't help but chuckle. The system did elaborate the answer. "Can I then ask the system for questions then?" I put down the needle and cloth in my hands.

[ Affirmati-#)#!;* Denied(#)/ ]

The window that popped up suddenly glitched out and turned white. Then it displayed it's answer. It seems like it can't answer questions like those. It made me wonder. "How can I level up in the system?" Another window popped up.

[ The host will receive task, starting after the host discovered Status application. Host would start to receive task now. ]

I scoffed, then from now on I would start getting random tasks? Is that it?

[ Affirmative ]

Aish, I continued to nip at the edges of the clothes until all of the threads were undone. It would be random, if I'm guessing correctly. Most of the Female leads that I read would get a random tasks like 'drink two glasses of water' or 'rest for eight hours' along the lines of those.

After I finished all four of them, I put away the needle and opened up the replicating dimension. And swiftly grabbed two types of threads a scissor and a sewing needle.

[ Dimension opened....

 Duration 2.89 seconds

 MP: 45/50 ]

Another annoying notice popped up, made up a random conclusion that the cultivation level and the system's level are somehow connected. I furrowed my brows in frustration at the notice, MP? If I recall that's Mana points so Mana and Qi are the same and this is how little I have for now. Shaking my head I decided to focus, after cutting it in the pattern that I would make the clothe masks. I started to sew each of it little by little.

[ Receiving a task. Make two clothe masks.

Reward : 25EXP

Penalty : None ]

I didn't want to bother looking at the new notification, but I did anyway. After looking at it's content I continued on what I was doing. Curious about the reward I decided to speed up how my actions and the results l was completing the masks in half a time. This time I awaited the system's notification.

[ Congratulations! You have received 25EXP ]

[ EXP: 25/100 ]

I received two notification at ones as I clutched my clothe masks. I pressed the <X> button and I put on the mask, and put the other one on the cabinet. I stood up and put on the two inches heels, leaving the clothe's that wasn't used in the corner of the room.

"Now where shall this lady go?" I went outside the Zhi Courtyard and looked around. Even the outside of the courtyard is deserted. "Status" I muttered and the window popped up in my vision.

"Since my cultivation is on its first stages, then shouldn't I level up the system?" I walked along the dirt road to the main Fu. "But making money is also important, now think Zhi Ruo. What is the general's side business?" I began to smile while thinking. "How can I ruin the general's side business?"

If I really think about it, the general's side business isn't personally being taken care by him. It was taken care of by Liu Su Yang, the general is too busy going in expeditions and going into war on the borders. Liu Su Yang is taking care of that business to support the heavy amount of Potions and cosmetics for her daughters.

Now I remember hearing about the side business of the general was actually stone gambling. Among all other gossips the fact that the side business of the general is related to gambling actually stood out. Surprised that the righteous general was actually that kind of person. Liu Su Yang actually took advantage of the gossip and spread the word, making the business have a steady flow of costumers.

My blazer danced as I jumped on the rooftops of the Liu Fu. Escaping from eyes view of the people below.

"But I have to have money first just to purchase a single stone. If I can just purchase a single stone it would be enough." I took a peek at the courtyard of the Shu sisters. And found out that both of them were preparing to leave. A curve tugged on the corners of my lips, the moment that I saw the opened jewelry boxes. And the thinning servants outside the rooms of said sisters.

Unhurriedly I made my way to the windows of Liu Qi Sen's room. I put my ears by the paper walls and listened to the fading footsteps of the servants. When I confirmed that, there were no one inside did I decided to slip in. I opened the window a little then I my footsteps landed on the wooden floor boards of Liu Qi Sen's room.

Their wasn't anything in Liu Qi Sen's room that didn't look like antiques in my modern eyes. The only thing that caught my attention was the pile of jewelries that was left unorganized on the table that had a copper mirror. The gems on the rings if gold and silver couldn't stop the mischievous smile that broke on my face.

I happily grabbed the chained of glittering gold, and shimmering gems. And held them up close, each one of them was splendidly made, you can tell by it's shining splendour. One could instantly say that the owner did not hold back when it comes to picking jewelries like these.

The pile of shining gold chains and precious stones had me instantly thinking of a plan. I held up a golden chain necklace that had blue stones embedded in it delicately, and a precious golden ring that had a equally precious yellow gemstone in the middle. Out of all the jewelries on the pile. I only chose the ones that could be easily lost in it.

And I chose Another two, one was a delicately small chained necklace that had a giant gem stone as a pendant. And other other was a magnificent pair of ruby earrings. A curve was instantly turned vicious the moment I took the four jewelries out in the window.

This time I went to Liu Qi Sen's sister, Liu Ya Ren's room. I checked before hand that the servant inside had already left. And with the same manner I did on Liu Qi Sen's room I stepped inside through the window. I looked around and it was easy spotting the jewelry box in front of the copper mirror.

I opened the delicately carved jewelry box and found that Liu Ya Ren had not have the same amount as Liu Qi Sen's jewelry. But it was still many in the eyes of many. My hands went and searched every single secret space on the jewelry box to see if I had something that caught my eyes.

Sighing at the amount, I took a single golden ring that had some simple carvings. Then the corners of my lips went up again mischievously. I then put the delicately chain necklace with the giant gem stone as a pendant, and the magnificent ruby earrings on Liu Ya Ren's jewelry box. After making sure that everything was put neatly back into place.

I searched again around in Liu Ya Ren's room and found a single handkerchief on the corner of the elevated bed. It had Liu Ya Ren's initials. After checking the room if there was anything amiss, did I go back to Liu Qi Sen's room and put the handkerchief below on the table that had a copper mirror.

Looking around Liu Qi Sen's room, I looked and rummaged inside her semi walk in closet. And looked for something that could cover my whole body and face. After searching around, the only ones I could find was some delicate robes and flimsy shawls.

I had no choice but to open my dimensions. The moment I did so I timed my actions. I let the lotus dimensions engulf my body and looked around for something that could cover my whole body. It wasn't very long before I found something that matches what I wanted. I instantly got out of the dimension.

[ MP: 20/50 ]

The systems notification was spared a glance before it was dismissed. The moment I landed on the outside world. The sweat was drenching my whole face. I wiped my face with the thick cloak that I got. I looked at the item on my hand and felt that it was indeed one of the things that I designed.

The cloak was simple, it was covered in amazing thin fur that was black in color. The length was up to my ankles, and if I put the hood over my head it could easily cover my whole face. It wasn't heavy and it didn't hinder my movements.

The young woman touched her face with wide bulging eyes, as if she didn't 'realize' that she had been hit— or maybe she couldn't 'believe' that she was hit by the middle aged drunkard of a woman she called as a relative. Her mouth hung open, as if she struggled to get words out, in the end she could only stare at the raging woman in front of her blankly. Her pallid face regained some of its color, as her features were quickly overtaken by anger. "You dare?!" The young woman's voice was shrill, as she rose up from where she sprawled from the middle aged woman's hit— although the middle aged woman was nearing her elderly phase, she could still pack a nasty hit. Which was mostly the reason why the younger woman was so surprise, as her relative's smack had literally sent her flying. She even looked like she didn't even realize that her clothes were soaked with wine, it seems like the only thing that her mind registered was that of disbelief.<

The price was rising higher, and higher, the bidding getting more intense more rough and the people that haven't got a private room? They have long been brought down and reduced to hushing individuals with serious expression marring their faces as they listened to the escalating sum that was being called left and right in all directions. The only thing they could do was pound their chest in frustration as they couldn't participate in the bidding war even if they want to. They were reduced to mere speculators. Unable to contribute to the subdued battlefield of money. For it wasn't silver nor gold that was being used, but paper and crescent coins. It was hard to see a single crescent currency in their lifetime, but now they could hear important people sending it out like it was nothing. • [The auction]

As the money flowed freely, exchanged with an almost reckless abandon, even the seasoned host found herself captivated by the dazzling display. The sheer magnitude of wealth being tossed around left her momentarily taken aback, her cheeks beginning to ache from the strain of concealing an uncontrollable grin. Despite her best efforts to maintain composure and professionalism (and her image as a mysterious host for tonight's auction) the infectious excitement and the allure of the riches before her proved too irresistible to mask completely. The corners of her mouth betrayed her as they curved upwards, a telltale sign of the delight she felt in witnessing such lavishness, she almost wanted to egg the cultivators on, wanting for the bid to go higher. Though she tried to hide her joy, it seeped through, a testament to the intoxicating allure of the opulent spectacle unfolding before her eyes. With trembling hands and bloodshot

Peng Mingxia scanned the visible private rooms from where he was sitting and found that he could not see through them, as he scanned the entire venue, he also found out that there were many familiar faces within the crowd. Which was within his expectations.Granted, it did bring a tinge of amusement on his face when he saw that some of these familiar faces that he saw were already looking at him like they also expected him to be there.Peng Mingxia started to wonder if he was really that predictable. Ignoring how other people's stare seemed to want to reach out and carve his brains out to examine his thoughts up close, Peng Mingxia looked far too amused by how others were perceiving him.'Crazy bastard.''Even the goddess cannot fathom that bastard—''Psychotic mental doctor.''Hmph! • [Vulture like flies]

Zhi Ruo went back to her seat, and sat properly while fixing her clothes. "Do they look familiar to you?" She said, as she touched her mask to adjust it, her voice reached Yuan Chuanli's ears, who's eyes flickered towards the young miss before going back to the image on the surveillance set up.The boy genius shook his head. "No, the only thing that's familiar is that crest on their clothes." He nodded towards the direction of the people in the paper. Honestly stating his observations aloud. He crossed his arms around his chest.Yuan Chuanli briefly wondered if the money that the Liu clan people had bought was enough for the item that they were asked to get. The bag— from the angle that they were watching— didn't look like it was enough to hold a few gold papers or coins. The boy genius wondered if the bag was supposed to be a space storage bag. "I had a feeling that you would say that." Zhi Ruo nodded her

  • [Identifying]

The first thing that Yuan Chuanli noticed was the numerous amounts of red and blue dots that scattered across the entire premise. Yuan Chuanli knew that there were many formidable foes that roamed in the vicinity, but he didn't expect that there were 'that' many around them."Don't look so surprised now," Zhi Ruo chimed, her voice light and unworried. "What did you expect from a auction house such as this. It would be more surprising if there aren't many strong cultivators around despite such a grand merchandise that's being put in the public." She said. This time her hand hovering over the paper."I know that," Yuan Chuanli smoothly slid the words out of his mouth as if he truly knew that from the start. "What are you even doing now?" He diverted the attention to another topic instead. "Just shush, you have eyes, use them and stop asking questions." Zhi Ruo would have raised her hands and waved them in front of Yuan Chuanli'
